As someone who just loaded up Studio for the first time, I can tell you the clone tool is no longer the default when placing bricks. You have to turn it on in preferences.
So very impressed with this tutorial. This seems a great piece of software but a challenge to get going with it. This video makes you wonder why there was a problem. Good job
Boone, you're a genius!!! I just started using Studio today and I was getting so upset that I couldn't figure out certain things, one being panning around. You have saved the day and lowered my blood pressure. I have subscribed and will certainly check out your other videos. Happy building everyone.
I would add that when you bring a brick into your model you can also right click to cancel it if it hasn't been placed at all. I find it a lot faster than reaching over to the Delete or Escape keys.
Great tutorial. It's been a while since I hopped on to Studio so this was a nice refresher. One thing I've noticed is that Studio has changed since my last time using it. Previously, the parts list showed up at the bottom of the screen and it looks like this "option" or set up is no longer available. I'll be sure to check out the other tutorials. Thanks Boone.
Thanks! I didn't know something like this was free! Now i can finish some of my builds, that I don't have the pieces for. Maybe even makes some plans and try to sell them. Cheers 🥂
Studio would be perfect if you could see systems like gearboxes and stuff actually working, if there's a way to do that or if someone know another platform that includes that, please let me know, I've been searching for something like that for over a year
Can you make a video on how and where you decide where to start on projects? How meaning what pieces to start with. Where meaning what aspect of the project you start.
Great introduction video, can't wait to see the next ones, thanks! You should have shown what happens when you re-enable the collision detection, after 'inserting' that brick.

Great video dude! for sure watching all of these. I have designed a few things, and wish I had something like this to teach me the different functions. Cant wait for more! How often are you publishing videos for this Series?
Hey Boone, awesome video 👍 What are the standard system requirements please, as I am looking to purchase a laptop in order to design my mocs for Brickjoy.
Thanks for watching! I bought the drawers from Walmart.com. HomeDepot.com also has a similarly competitive price. If those sites do not serve your area, you could search for “Sterilite Wide 3 Drawer Unit.” They come in sets of three drawers, so I removed the lids from most of them and the bottom of one will click together with the top of another. Best of luck to you!
Thank you so much for this! I have been meaning to learn this program for a while. I've been a lifelong Lego fan and use Cad at my day job, so this will be a real game changer for me to plan out what I want to build next!
Very well informative, but I am unable to access the master pallete. All there is "main" and "new parts" under the drop down. I've searched everywhere, forums and all, and I cannot access or find it for the life of me. Any help would be appreciated!!

[15:01] How do you PAN side to side on a MAC with an APPLE MAGIC MOUSE that does not have a scroll button?? is there perhaps a control/option/command key to hold while doing it??
Super helpful, Boone. Thanks! I'm building one of my physical MOCs in Studio now, and I was caught up on a few things that your tutorial helped out with.
I've downloaded Bricklink Studio, but I noticed the amount of available bricks is very limited. I noticed you have your palette set to "Master", but I can't find that. In my dropdown window, I can only see "Main", "New Parts", "ADP Palette Archived", "+ Add Palette" and "Config". How can I get "Master" to get all bricks available?
I had the same question. It looks like "Master" is a custom palette that he created before recording the video, which is unfortunate. To get past this obstacle, select Main and then Shapes. You'll see a much longer list of bricks (I see 733 vs only 34 in this video) but will try to follow along anyway. If he ever re-records this video, I hope he doesn't start by assuming that we have the same custom palette that he has.
Thanks for a great introduction. At 3:25, when you go to select a specific brick from the icons they move slowly. Is this because you're using a mouse? Using a laptop touch pad is incredibly sensitive and they just speed by. It's almost impossible to select a brick. Please do you know if there is a way adjusting the scroll speed/sensitivity in Studio? I imagine that quite a lot of viewers use laptops, so it might be a handy hint to include in future video.
Hi! Thanks for the video! How can I use only my own bricks? I have a mindstorms Robot Inventor kit and I would like to use only pieces from this set. Thanks
Hey, this program is not designed to show the actual instructions of an existing set, but you should be able to find them at LEGO.com or search google for the set number + “instructions” Good luck!
I am curious about this use for studio... I have old blue prints of a house from the early 1900's that I would like to use as a basis for creating a lego model of the house...one where I can purchase the bricks, and actually build the model. Does this software allow for such designing? Does it actually allow for drawings to be in a specific scale? Can I import a cad drawing or something similar as a base?
I can’t figure out how to get it to where you place a brick and it gives you that same brick to place again, instead of having to go back and forth into the menu

I am working on my first MOC with studio , I find the piece/s that I want to use on the Lego site BUT cannot seem to find them on Studio.
