  • Division can be negative. Jesus prayed that His disciples be one, just as He and the Father are one. John 17:11
Yet, Jesus tells us division is a good thing when it comes to being on the side of truth instead of error, as truth divides. "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." Matthew 10:34-36

I like Doug, however, he still has a lot of Roman Christendom doctrine he holds to that causes biblical prophecy to be "concealed" from his understanding. Daniel 9 is not just about the 490 years, it also eludes to the Passover lamb that HAD to be but a yr old, therefore, Jesus's ministry could not have been 3 1/2 yrs.
If one takes the seven weeks and sixty two weeks and they begin those weeks at the beginning of Jesus's ministry which began just before Passover when the "lamb" was to be brought into the homes and inspected for 4 days, we see this happened. Jesus came into Jerusalem and entered the Temple (House of His Father), turned over the tables of the money changers, exactly 4 days before Passover. So if we count sixty two weeks, we come exactly to the end of the 62nd week (the weekly Sabbath) and the following Wednesday, the day of the Passover when Jesus is crucified exactly in the middle of the week before sundown just as He said He would according to the sign of Jonah (72 hours, 3 days & 3 nights, He rose as the Lord of the Sabbath). His ministry was exactly 1 yr old when He, the Passover Lamb, was crucified! He then resurrected as the weekly Sabbath was coming to a close, just before it began to dawn towards the 1st day of the week which was at sundown.
This takes us to First Fruits (ascends to the Father) which begins the 64th week and we count 7 Sabbaths and we come to Pentecost (Feast of Weeks) when the Holy Spirit is poured out, and thus the seventy weeks of Jesus's ministry comes to completion and the fate of Jerusalem and the Temple are sealed. Seventy weeks to seal up!
Sadly, this is only one of the MANY problems I have with Adventist doctrine and so when I came out of the Sunday church and searched for a new assembly, the 1st I looked into was the SDA, but sadly, they still fall extremely short because of the lies they inherited that they refuse to cast off. The SDA organization is just that, a religious organization, sponsored by their 501c3 governmental status and as long as they are beholden to Caesar, they fail the test that Jesus spoke in regards to the Nicolaitan system that He hates, nico=conquerer, laitan=laity, a hierarchy system that sets men up as leaders who make their living (paycheck) peddling the Word of God and duping the laity into giving tithes so these peddlers can go about teaching their doctrines while the example of the Jesus & the Apostles was to let the people hear Moses and then let His Spirit of Truth be the guide to the people(Jn 14-17, Acts 13:15, Acts 15:21).
The SDA also fails the test of Jesus because while they claim that the entire law still stands, they also teach that the law is divided and call part of it ceremonial and thus wrongly teach the importance of observing His Feasts which, unless one does, they will be utterly blind to the importance of His Feasts and the prophecies in Daniel & Revelation.
Dan 12:6 And one said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, "How long until the end of these wonders?" 7 And I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, and he held up his right hand and his left hand to the heavens, and swore by Him who lives forever, that it would be for a time (mo'ed), times(mo'ed), and half a time (mo'ed). And when they have ended scattering the power of the set-apart people, then all these shall be completed.
The "time, times and a half a time" here in the Hebrew reads "mo'ed. mo'ed. khay-tsee mo'ed (in the middle of the mo'ed)" or in English it should read "appointed time, appointed times and in the midst of the appointed time" which would be in the midst of the 4th appointed time which is the Day of Trumpets! Even Paul wrote about these appointed times,
1Th 5:1 Now, brothers, as to the times (yom = days) and the seasons (mo'ed = appointed times, see Gen 1:14), you do not need to be written to. 2 For you yourselves know very well that the day of יהוה comes as a thief in the night.
1Th 5:3 For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then suddenly destruction comes upon them, as labour pains upon a pregnant woman, and they shall not escape. 4 But you, brothers, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.
Rev 16:15 "See, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who is staying awake and guarding his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame."
The Son's ministry and reign operates according to the Appointed Times that the Father has given to Him.
Zec 14:16 And it shall be that all who are left from all the gentiles which came up against Jerusalem, shall go up from year to year to bow themselves to the Sovereign, יהוה (LORD) of hosts, and to observe the Festival of Booths (Tabernacles, see Jn 1:14).
Which brings us to the whole "we going to heaven" falsehood because all throughout Moses and the Prophets, we are told we inherit the earth and that would include this earth during Christ's reign as well as that of the Father. (1Cor 15:24-28, Rev 2:11, 20:5-7, 21:8)
Pro 2:21 For the straight shall dwell in the earth, And the perfect be left in it; 22 But the wrong shall be cut off from the earth, And the treacherous ones plucked out of it.
    Mat 5:5 "Blessed are the meek, because they shall inherit the earth.1 Footnote: 1Ps. 37:9, 11, 22, 29, 34.
We are caught up to Christ upon His return and then we are told that His feet touch down upon the Mt of Olives. Where He is we are. There is not one Scripture that says Christ goes back up into heaven. What it says is that the Father comes down after Christ has cleansed the earth of all corruption, a renewed heaven & earth, not a brand spanking new creation.
The Gospel of Christ is all about restoration, not re-creation!
    Shalom
