Talk about a band. The tightness of the rhythm, even with the chaotic arrangement, is something that can only be achieved with PRACTICE.
    YOU GOTTA REHEARSE.
Because if you don't and you somehow get to have an audio engineer that has more than one braincell like whoever was at this concert, they're gonna hear ALL OF IT as CLEAR AS DAY.
You don't wanna blow it in HD, do you?

Unbelievable! Truly unforgettable! Thus was my very 1st concert, ever! I was so blown away from Danny and the band, percussion, the horns! I'm listening to the very 1st concert, in fricken Arizona and what turned me into a lifetime fan! I'm still listening for myself in the crowd...thank you to blank frank for providing this, just incredible.

I think this tape was cut. Note the fadeout before Grey Matter. They usually played full hour-long sets so there are definitely songs they played after Dead or Alive that we don't hear.

I have to rant about it but I definitely think oingo boingo before dead man's party was way better after 1985 it sounded to me too poppy and kinda crap but the past 3 albums are definitely have the definitive oingo boingo songs and the live shows between 1980 and 1985 are definitely the better ones I have to admit

Ohmygod.. I can't believe I stumbled across this. I was there.
It was at Graham Central Station in Phoenix. They had an "autograph party" at Rolling Stone Records at 35th Av and Northern the afternoon before the concert. I heard about it on the radio that afternoon and boogied down there, bought the Only a Lad album on 12" Vinyl (because it had all the band members pics on the back, great for autographs) and went through the autograph line...
Danny Elfman was super cool to me while signing my album, me being just a skinny, dorky teenage kid at the time! LOL! We talked about the "new" video that they had just finished filming, the vid to Nothing Bad Ever Happens To Me.. It was probably only for 30 seconds, but I felt like he gave me hours of his time!
Then I ran out and got a ticket to the show, and went, and heard all of this live, when it happened, in real time, in 1983!
I can't believe my good fortune finding this recording. OMG! The only thing better was hearing it live the first time!
