In 2019 I bought a CAAD 10 frame/carbon fork For $650. It's a 58cm. 2015 Caad 10 black and white in color. I built it up done upgrades on it since then. Right now it is smokin hot with HED WHEELSET. Dura ace crank with 50t wolf tooth and some 105 group set. 11 speed. Aero handlebar. bb infinite bottom bracket. Alotta trial and error with bottom brackets and crankset. Since creaking has occured but I've learned it's not the frame rather the cranksets most of the time. Anywho it is my baby and it is a really good bike. I can't believe ur making a video of a CAAD 10 bike build. I literally know exactly what ur talking about these are really good race bikes
I’m riding a 2007 Felt F2 that was ridden four times with one very low speed fall and zero damage. The bike scared the previous owner and he hung it in the garage and never rode it again. The bike looked brand new.I just bought it, cleaned, oiled and detailed it and it is amazingly fast and so smooth. Couldn’t pass up such a deal. Great video, nice bike.
I love building up my own bikes. I found it quite therapeutic and relaxing. I purchased my first road bike, 2nd hand in 2019. It was a 2012 Redline Metro Classic and it was a mess of different parts. I knew nothing about modern road bikes and equipment. I researched and learned as much as I could. Little by little, I replaced every single component except the drop bars. That bike went through 3 major changes/setups. I sold it a few months ago now, but soon after that bike and learning a whole lot, I've built up 6 bikes and kept 4. That 2012 Redline Metro, 2019 Cinelli Semper disc, 2017 State Thunderbird SSCX, 2017 Nashbar Carbon 105, Ribble CGR AL and a Mercier Kilo TT. My next project I'm going to take a shot at building Fairlight Strael 3.0 with Di2. I'm addicted to this.
For how big the entire bicycle industry is, there still are way way way too many people in this world, who don’t ride bikes. Bike riding is a great way to curb depression issues, and there are far and away too many depressed and angry people in this world. Love the the biking enthusiasm of this channel!
im 38 and just bought my first nice bike! hearing you tell parents to not buy their kids everything and let them work for some things later in life is great advice. to have earned this bike and now be riding it, i feel like a kid again!! :) great vid.
Love my Caad10 no desire to move to a newer, harder to work on bike, currently giving mine some love with new bar tape and new bright colored cable housings
Challenge accepted! I’m building my first road bike from scratch next week! And it will be based on a classic Orbea alu frame, custom painted, with a 12s Chorus groupset and Cosmic wheels. So excited to see it finished!! ☺️
I ride a Caad10 fourth season now, and is by far one of the best aluminum bikes ever made. It is so light and stiff that it can catch up with many carbon frames, and is probably better than many lower to middle quality carbon frames. I had a chance to upgrade to carbon frame, to a Cannondale super six, and after a few test rided didn't notice any huge difference compared with my Caad10. I will keep riding it until it breaks, which make take a long, long time....
Ii just got my 2015 Caad10 in pristine condition. Guy had it in his garage just setting there. He said he didn't ride it even 100 miles in total. I'm so in love with the ride of this bike. It will help me step up my cycling to another level.
I just bought a similar CAAD10 as the one in the video and I'm planning to upgrade the 105 groupset to Ultegra. The way you built yours really inspired me! I also own a SuperSix Evo and absolutely love it, so I'm excited to see how this CAAD10 build turns out. Thanks for the great content and the inspiration!
Sick build my guy! 🤙 Did the same thing with a old trek 1500 from the Lance era. I took the paint off and rebuilt with all high end race goodies! (Dura ace mechanical and carbon everything!) Was a dream to rebuild! 🚴 cheers 🍻 Also Hail Rim brakes! 😎
Awesome job mate! Great to see a classic no nonsense frameset. I’d take up your challenge but there’s just no stock for frames and Groupsets to buy online right now.
Thumbs up before I finish watching, I love these bikes, I custom built my CAAD13 and I'm about to change a couple things, carbon bars, direct front computer mount and I'm waiting for a 28mm tubeless tire for the back.
Just acquired a 1986 cannondale SR500 frameset. Serial number indicates it was the 15th produced that year. After custom powdercoat and adding replicas of the original decals, I'm doing a modern build with shimano 105 (r7000). I'll probably wind up keeping this and selling my brand new specialized...lol.
Unfortunately no bike building this year, however I did build up my winter bike last year almost from scratch (had the lbs install the cables as I didn't have the internal cable routing kit), but was still very much enjoyable to pretty much build my first bike on my own.
I have a 2013 CADD 10 that originally had rival on it. I bought it to go crit racing and raced a season. I enjoyed riding in the peloton with the others and would attack once in a while but I was to old and fat to be competitive. I had kids and just could not spend enough time training. I had to work to much. I upgraded the real derailleur to Force because I needed the longer cage for a 32 cassette for some steep hills. Then the front derailleur was always junk. So I upgraded to to the Force 22 with Yaw. Finally after crashing hard into a thick mail box and destroying my shifters, I upgraded them to force too. I love my CAAD 10 with Force on it. I have had it for over ten years now and it still looks great!! I clean it often and wax the chain. I have another cheaper, heavier bike that I ride everyday but once in a while if it is sunny out I take the racing bike out for a spin.
Very interesting classic bike build. Please make a riding video of it for us to see and experience. I own a Cannondale Quick Si with the same kind of graphics from that era with mountain bars and I love how it rides like a Cadillac. The new gravel bikes just don't compare in my personal opinion. Oh, by the way, the 2022 CAAD13 105 Hydro Disc I bought is so much FUN to ride I can't get off of it.
Totally agree!! I have a complete new build using the caad10 frame, I had one and sold it to buy a supersix which I still have but the caad10 frame with all new components kills the supersix and you can run 28mm tires on it. My rebuilt caad10 is a 2014 frame and my supersix di2 is a 2015.
I have my 2012 caad 10. I have upgraded last year to 11 speed using the ultegra 6800 from my giant TCR that was upgraded to di2. Important improvement on braking power since 6700 are not double pivot calipers. Caad 10 is a top frame. I remember very well the first I rode it. Instant acceleration still comfortable bike. Love to see videos about Caad 10.
I did a complete build last year with a new 2016 caad 8 frame/fork and i absolutely love it. It's truly an amazing aluminum frame. I'm going to do a video of it at some point. Building your own bike from frame/fork is the ultimate experience imo.
Challenge accepted and done lol... as they say been there done it, T-shirt on the wall 🤣🤣🤣 I built 4 ( sold one ) over the lockdown/ slowdown period two with DI2, hydraulic disc brakes and the 3 one was just spare parts I had knocking around from a previous upgrade and I have ridden all 3 and love em 🤟🏾🤟🏾🤟🏾😁
Just bought my first road bike (a used trek emonda alr 5) at 38 and I want to learn how to maintain it so I can’t teach my daughter too. Thanks for all the tips!
I got a 12 after my SSix Evo frame broke. An improvement! After messing - and winning! - with the internal cabling I can appreciate the benefit and simplicity of the 10....
I own two CAAD10s and one CAAD12 . I prefer the CAAD10 too. Your frame is actually a 2011-2013 frameset; 2014-15 CAAD10 has internal rear brake cable routing.
@@SergioGarcian_n From a riding/racing experience perspective, I think the CAAD12 is the best aluminum bike you can buy. Same goes for the CAAD10's BB30 vs CAAD12's BB30A. BB30A is the newest version, but it is proprietary to Cannondale at this time. Don't get me wrong; BB30 started out the same way, but many companies have started using it in the past 10 years, so there are more options for replacement parts. However, the biggest reason for my choice, is the CAAD12 has all internal cable routing, which makes it less service-friendly. Internal looks cleaner, but replacing cables can be a headache
@@terbennett Thank you! Since I do all my bike maintenance I find internal cabling annoying as well, but can live with having it only on one of my bikes. Using it for racing is the main reason I got this, hopefully my legs can keep up with it.

i've bought a Cannondale caad9 (frame , fork and old groupset) , so that i don't have to use my Trek Emonda SL5 to go to work. This Cannondale will be use for work and second bike in winter. I've bought a new FSA head set because some parts were missing and this day i've a problem to install the crown race. I don't see it in your video.

Safety Tip: replace the original CAAD10 stem as it cuts into the fork over the course of 7 years. It doesn't have enough material on the inside
Using a different steerer tube expander plug allows maximum steerer tube reinforcement. The stock one sucks.
What liquid are you using to polish the cassette and what brush is that attached to the drill?

I've bought a new FSA head set because some parts were missing and this day i've a problem to install the crown race. I don't see it in your video.
Great video, thanks so much. Quick question, is no crown race needed on the fork?
I like the challenge 🙂
I Might Buy A Caad 9 😎
Comfort is really compromised by those carbon spokes. I think you should fit a Ergon CF3 Pro seatpost or something simular.
Hallo Caad10 Fans, I need your help....i am building up the same Frame like in this Video with a used ultegra 6800. Wich bolt did I need (how long) to mount the Front Brake???
Thanks @ all....ride fast, stay save🤙
