  • We check out the coolest Toyota ever made. The top of the line luxury model that is of the level of a Rolls Royce or a Bentley. And it also comes with Toyota's one and only V12 Engine!
    The Toyota Century. A swan song of everything Japanese. A very cool luxury car that initially won't wow you or really bring your attention until you start looking at the finer details.
    It has always been my belief that the Toyota Century is a moving work of art. We take a look at a beautiful 1997 Toyota Century V12.
    Even though this is a 25 year old car, that V12 is very much a Toyota engine. Whisper quiet and smooth.
    Special thanks to the owner Tim who brought us this special car and allowed us to film and share the car with you.

It's surprising/discouraging that Ahmed mentioned the difficulty getting an oil filter for it. That's a key part. I hope he does another video as he attends to the oil leaks it's there to be fixed.
      It's a special car for sure. Probably not the best choice as a daily driver. Maybe reserve it as a daily driver for 3 seasons so it's not exposed to our salt.

If you get the copper historic license plate, you will not need ADEQ inspection. Look up Hagerty. Excellent excellent presentation. I have never heard of this car and just love hearing about unique automobiles like this. Parts service would be a nightmare but I suppose if you had this car you could afford it. I’m sure mechanics can’t stand those fender mounted mirrors because it looks like it’s in the way when you’re trying to get to the engine bay. Excellent educational video. Love it!

    I was in the bay of Tokyo recently which is a pretty wealthy area and I saw a newer model of one of these gliding through and intersection and it's true that a picture or video can't fully show the car. There's an imposing presence when you see it up close, like you know whoever is in there is somebody that makes things happen. It's stealthy like it doesn't want to stick out but in doing so it sticks out even more like a nod to anyone who looks at it.

I’m in Perth Western Australia and saw the same model only a few days ago and I said to my wife how it looked like a luxury car and how it had Toyota characteristics though it puzzled me to see no brand name on it. We’ll this video ha cleared things up for me and will research it more. Thank you the car care nut for making the video, I am a Toyota fan and love this car.

      There are probably a dozen apps by now that do this. The most popular are “Google Translate” (by Google for Android, iPhone & iPad) and just “Translate” (by Apple for iPhone & iPad). They are both free unlike most of the others.

    It looks like the 2018 Century runs about $180,000, and uses the motor from the Lexus LS600H hybrid. 375Hp gas, plus 50Hp electric. I read that they made a 2018 Left hand drive model just for the Japanese Ambassador to France.

    • @petesmitt
      @petesmitt Год назад +1

      The latest Century runs the same entire drivetrain as the Lexus LS600H hybrid, so it's no longer as special as the previous model with the exclusive V12 engine; they sell for about 150k in Australia, which is 100k USD.
