- What’s happening in this Jungle Fever movieclip?
Eventually, Flipper admits his infidelity to his longtime friend, Cyrus (Spike Lee), who criticizes him not for being unfaithful to his wife but for having an affair with a white woman. Cyrus refers to the cause as "jungle fever" - an attraction borne of sexualized racial myths rather than love. Angie's friends are equally disparaging when she tells them she is having a relationship with a black man.

What’s the movie Jungle Fever about?
Spike Lee defines jungle fever as sexual attraction between members of two races. In his film Jungle Fever, he examines the repercussions of an interracial affair upon two very distinct communities. Flipper (Wesley Snipes from New Jack City and Demolition Man), is a happily married and successful architect, and Angie (Annabella Sciorra from True Love and The Attraction) is an office temp. When she starts working in Flipper's Manhattan office, one day they look at each other and are soon having sex over a blueprint-strewn desk. Their liaison causes an explosion on both home fronts. Flipper's family consists of his father Doctor Purify (Ossie Davis from The Hill and The Cardinal), a former preacher; his mother Lucinda (Ruby Dee from A Raisin in the Sun); his violent, crackhead brother Gator (Samuel L. Jackson from Coming to America and Avengers); and his wife Drew (Lonette McKee from Sparkle), whom he loves, despite his sexual attraction to Angie. Angie's family is a typical Italian-American household from Bensonhurst. She's engaged to Paulie Carbonne (John Turturro from Do the Right Thing and The Big Lebowski), who works in a deli owned by his father Lou (Anthony Quinn from Zorba the Greek). When the two families find out about Flipper and Angie's affair, their shock leads to recriminations and racial animosity.

Flipper should have kept his trap shut . He shouldn't have told his friend
They were both wrong for cheating because they were already both is relationships but damn they friends are super trash for telling their business like what did y'all think would happen
Ultimately it does come back on Flipper and Angie, but LOL @ Spike Lee’s character telling his wife like she wasn’t going to tell Drew. Come on man. He really thought she was going to keep that a secret from one of her best friends? I can’t be mad at him for not wanting to keep a secret from his wife, but he had to have known that she was going to tell Drew ASAP. Flipper probably should have kept that shit to himself. But in Angie’s case...they straight sold her out. And I’ve said this in another video about this, but it’s obvious, at least to me, which friend opened her mouth. The Black male/White female coupling inspires the most controversy, intrigue, revulsion, curiosity, analysis, whatever it is of all interracial relationships. Chick could barely keep her lunch down when Angie told her. You know damn well she told EVERYBODY.
He had a bad feeling because he knew he was about to snitch
😂
*this is exactly the attitude of Italian girls in the 80s and 90s. Even someone who wasn't Italian was scrutinised. They're a lot better nowadays but there's still some prejudice in the Italian community*
Absolutely.
My Girlfriends family is Italian and they all love me and really make me feel part of the family even the older ones although I do wonder if she and I met a few decades earlier how accepted our relationship would be
Can you imagine, in dis day and time, she's prejudiced against Italians? 😂
Forget the race. Why is she beaming about having an affair with her boss at work?
Exactly.
Most women like excitement and drama.
That’s the point by the end. Flipper realized he didn’t love her, they were just curious about each other sexually and that she’s a downgrade from the life he’s built with his wife. Basically, he realized she’s an undereducated skank in a lower economic class and wasn’t worth it so he went back to his wife in the end.
Ay😂 she was dropping dead about how he's black but not about how her friend was cheating
It would have been hilarious if Angie's racist friend ended up with Gator
Weak
You know I do it...Yeah you know I do it ..I like getting High ..cause im a chukuchukuchukuchuku CRACKHEAD

Wish this movie was on streaming somewhere
The father shot and killed Gator. Flipper's wife threw him out of the house, and Angie and Flipper broke up.
I said the same thing you can't find this movie nowhere

This film really blew up in terms of the influence on The Fresh Prince.
Both of them should have kept quiet. But those types of secrets always come out later on. You cannot hide something like that forever.
Sirus shouldn't of ratted out Flipper if it was in reverse Drew's friend wouldn't ratter her out.
Blade
No shit...
That comment is either Gen Z or A 😂
He did the motion 😂😂😂
Underrated movie
awesome clip
I edit myself into movies and TV shows with green screen and was thinking about editing myself into this movie!!! Any movie suggestions would be great!!
Interesting how both of Henry Hill's sidepieces are in this movie giving advice lol
Buena película
I HAVE SEEN THE MOVIE ONCE OR TWICE
Thank you for censoring this.
That second mistake of his would be irreversible
i dont think ppl had these views in the 90s. sure there were racists, but his friend's reaction to him being with a white girl was incredulous. a bit overkill if u ask me
Nah this was 91 people still had that racist mentality from the 80s, i would say mid 90s folks started to mellow out about race.
But you got to remember these are Italian whites, they run things different from regular whites so the film is accurate.
You are looking at this with a mind set in a different generation this was more than 30 year ago if you was an adult at the time you would be more are of the racial stuff, so it is not over kill to me.
@@jameswatson5807facts blacks was still afro centric at that time aswell so we still supported brothers dating sister

I HAVE SEEN IT
I’m Spanish/Italian(🇺🇸/🇪🇸🇮🇹) and I once dated a Black Girl who look like Jennifer Beals from Flashdance, but we lasted for a month and her mom didn’t accept me because of my race and my mom didn’t accept her either so we broke up and I ended up dating a Blonde White Girl with Blue Eyes
Jennifer Beals is mixed & basically looks like a white woman with a tan. That doesn't qualify.
@@KleWdSide yeah but what breaks my heart is that parents have to judge their children on who to date
@@adonismapother yeah, so sad.

@@KleWdSide yeah but in flash dance , you can see that she's mixed , like she's a very light skin black woman. Im Guessing that's why he was specific with flash dance .
"..The both of you's"...
I wonder if that's anything like, "..da boata yuz.." or "..da two a yuz..?"
Why in the f*ck did he have to tell anybody? Before anybody says “He shouldn’t have cheated in the first place.” that goes without saying
Nah.., Not Depressing.

Looool
Flipper is objectifying and dehumanizing Angie here. He says nothing about being attracted to her for any other reason than satisfying his “curiosity” about a “white girl.” Nothing about her specifically as a person. And of course, that’s because it’s the way Spike Lee wrote it, so it says more about Spike than anything else. That is the most racist thing about this scene.
I thought the most racist part of the scene was her friend calling him a "moolie" that's an italin derogatory term for Black People.
@@real1430 that too
Less completely gloss of the blatant racial slurs the white woman spewed ....FOH
I fuckin' love that observation, it's dead on!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣are you serious you think black dudes think about all that fluff stuff, some just want to see what a white woman feel like.
Same how some white guys want to find out if Asian woman are tight.
Ce bildi
Shudda kept your mouths shut...
What was the point Spike was making, the black man and white gal penetrating?
It was uncommon back then I mean it stuck out like a sore thumb.
First bitchhhhhhhhhhh
Black man that’s how a lot of white women still feel about you
And we are still going to see them. Many interracial couples have increased over the years. Wait until year 3000
@@banginzazahat we know…same woman who can literally say, “Daddy, Uncle my black boyfriend raped me, hurt me” and your life would be gone quicker than you can say flash but it will still be worth it to you.
