Same here! First time I listened to this song I almost teared up, it's amazing how she is able to evoke such strong emotions of agony, leaving my heart and soul feel so heavy.

It's enjoyable seeing people more used to Poppy's older styles of music confused and both coming accustomed to this new style, which I've always been more of a fan of. This darker industrial metal sounding stuff rocks, and helped get me into Poppy more easily than the music on her past couple of albums and EPs would have.
I definitely agree, except for the metal stuff. Her metal stuff is on the same level as her princess pop stuff for me; really cringy to listen to. But I appreciate her artistry either way! :P

Plus It holds the added benefit of being an higher quality meat both in taste and nutrients not to forget it also supports the local farmers around my area.

The melody is so cute, but the lyrics are a bit too disturbing for me to enjoy. I never expected that from poppy to be honest, good for her. She’s really stepping out of her safe bubblegum pop.
The point of the lyrics being so disturbing is to get the point across. I was actually struck the first time I listened and read the lyrics. It’s great because Poppy found a way to get her point across without being preachy, like a true artist.
It's meant to be disturbing, The point of the song is to talk about how cruel animal agriculture is by switching animals with humans.
