What do you mean "scuff up the primer?" Are you running fine grit sandpaper over it to help the color stick better?
Yes scuff with scotch brite for a good mechanical adhesion

You should get a separate oven for heating things up, like you said, you dont want to breathe anything or cook and work on the same oven
at 200 degrees nothing comes off the lights.. Its just to warm the glue up!

Love the. Truck. I have a 91 2wd looks just like yours even the paint. I’m gathering up all the parts to build it like yours. I’m still undecided on which engine though. I will use it mainly on the highway and mud toy on the weekends. So fuel economy will rule out my choice.
