Fun thing: Liberator gets made at 20:47 Liberator leaves the base just after that, flies down on the right edge of the map, narrowly missing Stat's fenixes at 21:12 Liberator arrives next to Stats's main at 21:49 I'm at my edge of my seat that its unnoticed by EVERYONE, surely at the right moment it will cause some mayhem. Liberator sits patiently there for 3 minutes (which seemed like an eternity) , narrowly missing the fenixes looking for some mischievous drops at 22:09 and 22:26. it enters the main base as Stats attacks around 24:29, gets shot at by stalkers (presumably) goes into the natural and kills 4 probes. Dies promptly without realising his purpose of liberating anyone, or ever being mentioned in the video. RIP unmentioned liberator :D Great video BTW, great to see another style of protoss coming back to play, can't wait for his upcoming GSL matches. Can't wait for PartinG to get back to his shenanigans either.
Stats is like "I will trade poorly and drown the enemy in the corpses of my fallen troops until I get to their base and kill all their workers, thereby gaining the advantage."
Talking about the second game it reminds me of StarCraft 1 1vs1 10m nr. Byun acting as the bm player knowing the game rules and stats attacking before the 10 minute mark which is bm, the good old days.
I feel that Stats' passive play can work, but I'd say he needs to be more on the ball with scouting. Even if he doesn't want to fight, at least knowing WHEN the fight is coming for him would better keep him able to react when the fight comes to him while he piles on the tech and economy.
I think there's two reasons the zealots worked: 1. The balance between their numbers and the threat level of the ranged units makes it harder to prioritize targets. 2. For the most part, their charges are timed as a counter to those other units being targeted.
Charge generally isn't managed at all, so it makes a lot of sense that you'd be able to squeeze some more value out of it if you save it. The zealot's attack also isn't a slouch.
In all fairness, Zealots do all have a personal emergency warp out. It's why they all disappear in a flash of light. You might be badly maimed or even eviscerated, but you will be warped out to the nearest safe zone for emergency first aid. If you're lucky, you might be warped back in during the very same battle! Both an honor and a glory!
Nothing wrong with passive approach, the problem in how is predictive and good opponent could get away with super greed even when they fail initial agression, but should not worry much about possible counter attack. It like you can cheese but not worry about the coincidence
Hey Lowko, totally irrelevant to the video, but do you know Husky Starcraft? Have you seen his new "channel" it makes me so sad that he left for years and deleted his old channel. Please never do this because I would say you're the new biggest SC2 channel and I have lots of fond memories watching your casts.
Lowko, do you still play and comment your own SC games? Or you chose not to do that anymore? I was a fan. Also you commenting on amateur games was quite good..
I'm not gonna lie. I hate the passive approach. Obviously they are following the old "when ahead get more ahead", when the better philosophy in my eyes is "give respect when it's earned", constantly do skill-checks 24/7 and slowly dial it back UNTIL who you are playing has earned that level of respect. That's how I've played OW, CS and VAL professionally. Constantly being aggressive, never letting the other player breathe or do what THEY want to do. Make them a spectator in their own match.
Those thumbs are neat, the attention to detail of putting stuff on top of the lowko logo gives a very professional vibe. Please don't ever stop doing those, tired of seeing AI thumbnails being so popular now
Zerg'ish style for Protoss is very exciting, Reynor already showed that already in some of his matches in the past and I think Protoss focused folks may pull it out. Stats did it really great I'm looking forward for more of this!
Zealots are way better than stalkers (from my bronze level) i don't really understand why pro protoss players don't do this mass zealot style more frequently
@@varoonb6593 In some games the top comment is like “wow I can’t believe x person won” and then I feel discouraged to even watch the video cause I immediately know who’s going to win for sure.
