being a big fan at the time and a 15 year old boy who was mad on alternative comedy it was sad the way they split up.its well known now that before this show they did not speak for 2 weeks.mad for saying the size of it.1 hour before it started sean lock was going from room to room passing messages to them.rob newman did say also on the morning of the show day that it might be the last thing they do together. i wonder if they haver ever spoke since. there time was very short lived .
i watched a documentary on double acts a few days ago and they did a piece on newman and badiel, they are freinds again now and newman went to badiels recent play.
Went to see Rob in Halifax last night. I met him before the show and he was lovely, really nice guy. Unfortunately, his style of comedy is not for me and I didn't think his show was that impressive. However, full marks to him for taking the time to sign an autograph for me and to have a photo.
I remember when I recorded this from the TV back in 1994. There was a lot more on it than the Video Release which was too edited with too much cut out.
0:03:19 Baddiel got panned in the press for this, but it's actually an in-joke - just before the performance, Spitting Image had done a parody of Baddiel, where his puppet repeated "They're crap." whenever asked to make a joke about something.
I preferred Newman myself. Baddiels still hugely popular but Newman seems to have opted for a smaller and more "private" comedy career continuing with his observational routine on present issues. I don't think he's even on social media.
Used to have this on VHS as a 14 year old. Loved it. Actually tried to build a petrol skateboard too.
I had it on VHS. I was 13.
Me too.
I saw this show like 50 times when I was a kid, I loved it so much...shaped my humour :)
Oh my Word Man.
I used to own the VHS of this, untill my divorce in98.
Thank you so much for this.
May God bless you and your family.
RICHARD HERRING
wow this brings back memories.I was one of the monks, oh happy days!
I saw this live in Glasgow in Oct 1993 when I was 18. My first big gig and I loved it, felt so grown up. That's you that is, that's your mum 😅
If you ever see the two videos they released of their earlier tours they are actually much more relaxed and easy to watch.

sean lock was the support on this tour...
"As ya do!" RIP Sean Lock
You are an absolute legend. I swear this is the only copy in existence of this awesome show.
I still have a vhs copy of it. It was way more edited than the version they broadcast on tv.
27:14 "it's been staring me right in the ******* face! Our getaway driver should be the keyboard player from the Charlatans!"

There's a very good reason for that...

Rob Newman is so much more funny than David Baddiel
Does anybody know what the song is when Rob Newman skateboards onto the stage?
It's Another Flavour by The Sundays.

What ever happened to Rob Newman?
He was WAY FUNNIER THAN THE TOTTENHAM SUPPORTERS
I was there, had a great night 😁
BUT... 6:00 perhaps he should shut up about Jimmy Carr..?
Was Baddiel ever funny? Rob Newman on the other hand is a genius.
