  • Tim Casalis-De-Pury and David Hard of Bachy Soletanche, worldwide leading experts in modern geotechnics and foundation engineering, discuss the design and construction of diaphragm walls in this webinar hosted by the Engineers Ireland Cork region. A diaphragm wall is a deep reinforced concrete continuous retaining or cut-off structure which can be installed down to 125m depth and are often used as permanent works. Typical applications include station boxes, underpasses, tunnel portals and open cut and cover tunnels. This presentation discusses all aspects of successfully delivering a diaphragm wall project including techniques, design, execution and quality testing.
