My daily driver is an 04 SRT-4 and has 175743 miles on it. Never had an issue with it but I do all my maintenance myself. Even at high mileage these are still great cars
Murph I did mine at abut 107k miles but am thinking about doing it again soon. No issues with it, I just want to go with the Gates timing belt and a MPx water pump. ModernPerformance sells kits for reasonable prices if you are looking for one.

Replaced valve cover Gasket and it still does it, almost unbearable when you cycle the HVAC to allow outside air into the cabin....thinking it might be coming from Turbo or Oil Lines to Turbo...but wanted to see if you've ever experienced this with yours.
Murph if your car is “smoking” at idle (whatever that means) then you lost Likely need to replace the PCV valve on the car and do basis tune up maintenance.

I don't daily it anymore but I can't see a good reason to get rid of it either. 215k miles on it, original motor, original turbo, still boosts at 17psi. Smoked a 2010-ish Mustang GT with it today. I've had very few major problems with it and it's easy to work on and get quality parts. It's very reliable and has only broken down on me once in all that time and all those miles. That was around 100k when the fuel pump went out. The motor is nearly indestructible. By comparison, i just put $5k into my solstice GXP which had a blown turbo at 100k and a bolt snapped off inside the head and ended up replacing the head. SRT-4 is a great awesome car but i would also never buy one used either. Kids have destroyed most of these unfortunately.
Been driving my neon for a few years now and i love it. i have had the chance to buy a new car and go back to just being another regular car on the street but i just love driving a sports car, especially one a rare as the srt4. I get soo many compliments and love smoking an expensive car. Needs work but im happy to see it come along

Made the decision after doing my homework and watching videos on them. Looked @ Evo and Sti, but Srt4 is Best bang 4 your buck, both on initial value and upkeep/repair. ryan farrell I've owned two, I've never had any transmission problems. A lot of these cars are beat on and have destroyed clutches alone with a notorious 3rd gear grind. As long as you Dont slam it into gears it will hold up pretty well

I bought a 98 Accord for 900$ no repairs of 2 year ownership I bought a RSX for 2500$ 200$ in repairs in 2 years ownership. Now I own a mkiv supra 500$ in repairs in 3 years ownership. These stats alone speak for themselves.
Craig Linsdell I wouldn't recommend anyone buy one unless they're prepared to spend money and can do their own repairs. Hondas are better built no doubt, I'm not arguing that there aren't better cars for the money. I'm not partial to Neons. But I think what happened to you is that you ended up with a kids Corps, and whoever owned it before you probably beat the living snot out of it and didn't take care of it

I have such a bad taste on this car. I had it for ONE day , no 3rd gear , sunroof sealed shut , impossible to turn due to no power steering, super small , if you are 6 ft or taller you are fu*ked. Only pro about owning thus car for a day was the way the exhaust and turbo sounded. I wish i wouldnt have had that experience, i would have definitely LOVED to have one of these. But i have a g35 6MT rev up and its better then what i expected

Owned one for 8 years, drove the hell out of it. Only had to replace the clutch.

im 6'4 and im super comfortable in mine, i'm comfortable in most small cars though. push your seat back all the way and theres plenty of room.
