Procedure on replacing the shifter light bulb on your 9thgen accord 2013 - 2017 Honda Accord.

Just changed bulb on my 2013 Accord EX-L. Thank you for the instructions. The hardest part for me was getting bulb holder out and in. I had to use needle nose pliers to turn the bulb holder. I had to move the wire over the bracket to get enough slack to get the holder back in. Took me longer to deal with the bulb then removing the console trim. The #74 bulb you specify is what I used and works fine. Thanks Car Modz!

This guy should've mentioned that Sylvania 2721 bulb fits instead of 74 LED because I ended up buying Sylvania 74 from O'Reilly and it won't fit. Glad I got it exchanged no charge and put Sylvania 2721 and it fits perfectly. Save yourself a trip to the dealer and buy Sylvania 2721 bulb!

Wow, you make getting that bulb and holder in look so easy! It is very difficult. You have to hold the bulb/holder in and then turn it 90 degrees with it wanting to come out all the time because of the wire tension, and you can barely hold on to it.

My shifter lights wen t out for my 2016 Acura TLX. I could not find any tutorials on how to remove the panel but I think the Accord has a lot of assembly similarities. I'll try to do these steps.

Is this light supposed to light up all the letters? Or is it supposed to indicate which gear the car is in? I removed mine and the light works fine but the letter of the gear I’m on doesn’t light up
This is the real question ... I know you posted 3 years ago ... I bought my Accord used coming from sonata and the light was following the knobshifter but in accord it just lit all thr letters .. so I guess it doesn't follow ...

Hi, thanks for the video. I was able to swap out the bulb but it does not light up for R D S L only P and N and only if the headlight is turned on. Right now, I can only see the indicated gear in the instrument panel. Should the light indicate which gear it is in at the shifter?

You need to get your car scanned to get the code.

I have a similar problem but with the light of the ac control panel and the control panel on the steering wheel, the buttons work to turn the air on or off but they do not have illumination!

Those are NOT 74 bulb. I just got my replaced this morning. I went to automotive part got a 74 mini bulb. The base socket doesn't fit! Honda made the base of the bulb a little thinner and smaller so it won't fit! At first I though I got a wrong bulb so I gone back and exchange for a 37 mini bulb with a thinner base socket. And IT STILL DON'T FIT! I ended up went to Honda and spend $5! Good luck for people trying to buy an 74 LED bulb on eBay and hope to made it fit! Those are custom made from Honda just to screw you guys over! The Honda Part Number for the bulb is "35505-S30-003"
Because you probably got a 74 bulb and not a 74 LED bulb

Yes. If you do not have a manual vehicle. you will have that light bulb.

2013 - 2015 Accord console are matte black. 2016 2017 are the piano black.
I dropped my ring in my gear shift and I need to know what to do to retrieve it. I have watched your videos but I don't see one where I can see how to get my ring out.
