- The album Gone to Earth is a two-record set featuring one record of vocal songs and one consisting entirely of ambient instrumental tracks. Guest artists include Robert Fripp (who co-wrote three songs) and Bill Nelson. It was recorded in part at The Manor Studios in Oxfordshire, England, with producer Steve Nye.
An early single CD pressing omits four of the instrumentals: "Silver Moon Over Sleeping Steeples", "Camp Fire: Coyote Country", "A Bird of Prey Vanishes Into a Bright Blue Cloudless Sky" and "Sunlight Seen Through Towering Trees". In 2003, the album was re-released in a double-disc format that mirrors the original vinyl release, and included three bonus remixes.

I love the fact that the voice sonds exactly the same as in the record. something that not so many singers acheive.

Riverman is a song from the first Sylvian-Fripp collaboration, a double LP called Gone to Earth that came out in 1986.
Looks like Sky Blue was written sometime between 1995 - 1998, so DS seems to have been first.. You can hear the similarities. 😁

Late October 1993; Kyoto gig took place in (then known as) Kyoto Kaikan Hall. Met David after the rehearsal for a short talk and a few pics in his dressing room. Hard to express the feelings after being with his music since the old days of Japan and solo career though this day and hopefully more. Every second of that day vivid after so many years
Amazing, bought tears to my eyes.
The remarkable part of the video is where the band members smile at each other because they know the song has as Robert Palmer noted "Run Clear." Similar to Woke Up Laughing.
