  • I recently bought an old church and have been renovating it to become my new woodworking shop. Good lighting is imperative to me as a woodworker and a content creator who makes videos. I contacted American Green Lights because of their positive reviews and high quality lighting. I could not be happier with the results I achieved from the American Green Lights LED lighting package in my shop.

We recently purchased shop lights from American Green Lights and were super impressed and thankful to Jim for designing the optimal custom lighting layout for the workshop. Very high quality lights - 95 CRI !! - and awesome customer service.

Really nice explanation of what American Green Lights does for the customer, and excellent tutorial showing how simple it is to put the lights together. I had no idea they had several different mounting options, great tip!

Another thing to consider if you're in the video production camp is the quality of the LED's driver. A lot of cheap LEDs use cheap drivers that will allow some AC through (ripple) which can show up on camera as flickering or banding (lines across the image). It can be more pronounced if you speed you footage up or use high frame rates (or frame rates that don't divide in to 60 for the US).

Shops looking great, Fred. Thanks for the purlin clips tip. I didn't even know those existed. I ran the chain for my lights up and over the purlin through one of the channels in the steel panels, but using the clips is probably a cleaner install.

Green lights site sucks, it’s hard to navigate.
I hope you got them free at $189/ light, I’ll wait for them to come down before I buy

Jim Uno I googled the link, I didn’t see it in the video notes. But I couldn’t find the lights or the prices at first. The light descriptions aren’t great, so I found the part number of the lights he used from a box on the video in the back ground.
