Hi Rishi. From the 3 oem options, you could choose any which you like since all have similar wire harness and function. Preference comes down to rpm range and appearance. Astar petrol tacho (max 8000rpm) has black shell & red backlight and both Ritz tachos (petrol 8000rpm/diesel 6000rpm) have grey shell & yellow backlight which I feel better suits Alto's cabin theme.
Backlight wire ko direct ground se connect kar sakte ho. Magar phir key ON mein backlight hamesha ON rahegi. Relay isliye lagaya h taki parking light ON karne par hi backlight ON ho.
Rahul, ek aur baat. Agar backlight wire ko direct ground se connect kar rahe ho, toh phir 12v power ke liye kisi ACC fuse se connection lena jaise cigar lighter. Actually maine direct 12v se connection kiya hai kyunki ACC se, car off karne par tacho needle wapas 0 ko reset nahi ho raha.
Hi, great video. I just finished installing it on A-Star 2010 and found that brown wire... I have issue when idle it show 500~ while obd shows 700~. Reving up the engine the deviation getting bigger. What can cause it?
Hey buddy! Really glad you liked it. Ideally, there shouldn't be any deviation if you have installed the tacho, which is Astar specific. Wondering what's causing it.
@@Autophile installed brand new 34200M68K01 found some 12v after acc and 12v when light is on. Also what weird at me that blue supposed to be illumination for tacho and yellow for the rpm signal but it didn't worked for me and I figured it out and mine blue is for the rpm signal (goes to brown wire to ecs unit under steering wheel) and yellow for the illumination 🤔
Hi Abhishek. Have not tried that method. AFAIK, some sort of decoder might be required. So, preferably the direct method (tapping into the EPS module) would be prompt and convenient.
Hello ,alto lxi 2009 me OBD lagake rits wale tachometer ke reading same aate hai kya ? I am planning to install rits petrol tachometer if result comes real. So please give reply for it.
Hi Dixit. Thanks for tuning in✌ Actually it is much complex to install a tacho that way. Rpm signal from obd port isn't readily available. So first a decoder is required. Even then, we can't be quite sure whether it would work.
Hi Praveen. 2010 model mein bs4 update hua tha. Uske meter ka mounting toh purane jaisa hi hoga lekin peeche wala electrical connector aur wiring harness alag hote hain. Isliye purane model mein woh fit nahi ho sakega.
Hello Jagdish. Pehle yeh jaanna padega ki Spark gaadi mein rpm signal kidhar hota hai. Workshop manual mil jaye, phir usme se pata kar sakte hain. Lekin tab bhi sure nahi hai ki yeh Maruti rpm meter, Spark mein sahi kaam karega ya nahi. Agar aur discuss karna ho toh Insta par message karna @autophileyt. Ya apna whatsapp no. share kro.
Hi Swastik. Sorry, I cannot confirm that. The tacho needs an engine speed (rpm) signal, preferably from ECU or else from ignition coil. In Bolero, even after connection, the readings might require calibration.
Hi Prashant. Thanks for tuning in✌ Anyone of the Maruti tachometers may be installed. All are basically the same except for measurement range and color theme. For Eeco, I would suggest the petrol gauge. Select based on color preference (Astar - black shell + red illumination, Ritz - grey shell + amber illumination)
Hi buddy. Thanks for tuning in ✌️ Yes, totally agree with you on that. Would not recommend an aftermarket tacho unless it its from a reputed brand and one is entirely sure about it and follows good practices to install. On the other hand, OEM tacho is very much safe to use because of reliable engineering and construction. Always happy to discuss more. Drive safe 😀👍
Hi Nirmaan. Old Alto, Wagonr aur Estilo mein meter ka shape same hai, matlab common mounting. Aur peeche lagne wale dono connectors bhi common hain. Isliye fitting mein toh koi issue nahi aana chahiye. Magar naye features ko activate karne ke liye wiring harness bhi shayad badalna pade, agar original harness mein saari zaroori wires na hon. Aur naye meter mein odo reset ho jayega, matlab 0 km se.
Good thinking👍. Unfortunately direct conversion is not possible😕. Alto K10 cluster uses a different (wider) connector. Refer links for comparison. Alto BS4 : bit.ly/3DhRcwO Alto K10 : bit.ly/3qDHuS2
Hi Daksh. Better not depend on that method. RPM signal preferably has to be from ECU which would be regulated voltage. May I ask which car you want to install?
Hi Harshmeet. Thanks for tuning in✌ Itni knowledge toh nahi hai magar most probably keh sakta hun ki yeh tachometer tata nexon ke saath compatible nahi hoga. Kyunki alag alag brands ke apne apne electronics architecture hote hain.
Hello Yuval. Really glad the video's been helpful 😃👍 Presume that your car Alto GLX is same as Maruti Astar? If yes, then you're lucky. This model gets its own tachometer (34200M68K01). You would also need a new dash panel (73311M68K50-P4Z) and bracket (34285M68K00). Refer this TBHP thread for a well explained DIY installation procedure. www.team-bhp.com/forum/diy-do-yourself/180828-diy-tachometer-installation-wagonr-star-lxi.html
Thanks a lot buddy👍. Hopefully yes you can install!! RPM signal is key. Try to locate brown wire for that in the eps module. Test the voltage for idle and throttle to confirm its the correct wire. Only then go for purchasing the tachometer. Avoid taking the 'ignition coil' route.
No wire cutting involved to install this tachometer. Just need to prepare the dashboard mount, tap into fuse box for 12v, tap into EPS module connector for rpm signal, tap into IC connector for backlight and ground anywhere on metal frame. However, it is said that any sort of aftermarket electrical modification can void warranty.
Hi Sagr. It's not possible kyunki meter ki wiring alag hai. Old Alto meter mein 2 connectors lagte hain lekin K10 meter mein single connector lagta hai.
Hi Ajay😀. Been using it for a while now. No sign of any issue whatsoever. Install it without worry👍 Just one small update: Take the 12v power from an ACC fuse instead of direct supply to avoid battery drain.
Hi Jitesh. In my understanding (as per one info on TBHP), this tacho is not compatible with Celerio since the electrical architecture is different. For rpm signal, there isn't any brown wire in latest models, because all the data between control modules is sent via CAN.
Can think of only a couple of solutions. Option 1. Replace combination meter with ZXi one, which has rpm gauge (genuine part no. 34104M76M40, MRP price ₹6,270). To update odo reading, you'd need help of local technician who can reprogram it. Better to confirm whether it can be done before purchasing. Option 2. Get an aftermarket tachometer of either ignition or OBD port type installation as compatible. This provides lot of choices and chance for dashboard customization.
Hi Aslam. Hope you have seen this TBHP thread of Ritz tacho install in Waggy 2003 bit.ly/3vqsJD0. The brown wire in coupler K (grey) is indeed for rpm signal. For workshop manual, here's the site which I followed rhinoman.org.

Backlight wire ko direct ground se connect kar sakte ho. Magar phir key ON mein backlight hamesha ON rahegi. Relay isliye lagaya h taki parking light ON karne par hi backlight ON ho.
@@Autophile thanks brother 👍👍
vse on rhne do koi problem nhi h 😊
Also what weird at me that blue supposed to be illumination for tacho and yellow for the rpm signal but it didn't worked for me and I figured it out and mine blue is for the rpm signal (goes to brown wire to ecs unit under steering wheel) and yellow for the illumination 🤔
super good job
Thank you 😀
Hey man loved the video would it possible to share the workshop manual as am unable to find it online
Hi Rithvik. Really glad the video's helpful 😀. Here's the link for workshop manual rhinoman.org/manuals/alto/99500M79G00.pdf
@@Autophile Thank you so much man! I have a 5 speed F8D 800 so it'll be really useful for that
Sir if this speedometer is connected with its coupler to (4 Pin to Obd2 Diagnostic Adapter), then is it working ?
Hi Abhishek. Have not tried that method. AFAIK, some sort of decoder might be required. So, preferably the direct method (tapping into the EPS module) would be prompt and convenient.
Hello ,alto lxi 2009 me OBD lagake rits wale tachometer ke reading same aate hai kya ? I am planning to install rits petrol tachometer if result comes real. So please give reply for it.
Hi Dixit. Thanks for tuning in✌
Actually it is much complex to install a tacho that way. Rpm signal from obd port isn't readily available. So first a decoder is required. Even then, we can't be quite sure whether it would work.
Sir...kya 2008 model me 2010 ka meter console fit ho skta h
Hi Praveen. 2010 model mein bs4 update hua tha. Uske meter ka mounting toh purane jaisa hi hoga lekin peeche wala electrical connector aur wiring harness alag hote hain. Isliye purane model mein woh fit nahi ho sakega.
Nice 👍🏼
Hi Uwais. Thanks for tuning in ✌
Really glad you liked it. Drive safe 😀👍
Muje Chevrolet Spark me rpm meter install karna hai..plz guide me
Hello Jagdish. Pehle yeh jaanna padega ki Spark gaadi mein rpm signal kidhar hota hai. Workshop manual mil jaye, phir usme se pata kar sakte hain. Lekin tab bhi sure nahi hai ki yeh Maruti rpm meter, Spark mein sahi kaam karega ya nahi. Agar aur discuss karna ho toh Insta par message karna @autophileyt. Ya apna whatsapp no. share kro.
Perfect video..
Glad its helpful👍. Thanks for great support🙏
This tachometer can work in Mahindra Bolero???
Hi Swastik. Sorry, I cannot confirm that. The tacho needs an engine speed (rpm) signal, preferably from ECU or else from ignition coil. In Bolero, even after connection, the readings might require calibration.
Maruti 800 mpfi 2008 , me fit ho jayga ??
Hi buddy. Thanks for tuning in ✌
Keh nahi sakta bhai, aapko try karke dekhna hoga. All the best and drive safe 😀👍
Hello eeco ke liye konsa wala sahi rahega? Please reply
Hi Prashant. Thanks for tuning in✌
Anyone of the Maruti tachometers may be installed. All are basically the same except for measurement range and color theme. For Eeco, I would suggest the petrol gauge. Select based on color preference (Astar - black shell + red illumination, Ritz - grey shell + amber illumination)
Superb...
Thank you 😀
Is it safe to install after market Tachometer,we have seen dangers of other after market accessories which need electricity to operate .
Hi buddy. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
Yes, totally agree with you on that. Would not recommend an aftermarket tacho unless it its from a reputed brand and one is entirely sure about it and follows good practices to install. On the other hand, OEM tacho is very much safe to use because of reliable engineering and construction. Always happy to discuss more. Drive safe 😀👍
Bai alto car me kisi or car ka meter fit ho jayega kya
Hi Nirmaan. Old Alto, Wagonr aur Estilo mein meter ka shape same hai, matlab common mounting. Aur peeche lagne wale dono connectors bhi common hain. Isliye fitting mein toh koi issue nahi aana chahiye. Magar naye features ko activate karne ke liye wiring harness bhi shayad badalna pade, agar original harness mein saari zaroori wires na hon. Aur naye meter mein odo reset ho jayega, matlab 0 km se.
Bro can we converts alto lxi 2010 odo meter to alto k10 2010 odo meter.......?🤔🤔
Good thinking👍. Unfortunately direct conversion is not possible😕. Alto K10 cluster uses a different (wider) connector. Refer links for comparison.

Super sir
Bro which car handle have you installed
Hi bro. Steering puch rahe ho shayad. Swift 1st gen model ka hai.
Bro nice video...one question. I own a 2000 Alto Lxi.. does it have a rev limiter or is there a chance of over reving ?
Although not sure, since rev limiter is a function of the ECM, typically your car should have it.
Bro what if we join the rpm wire to ignition coil, as others do?
Plz reply❤️
Hi Daksh. Better not depend on that method. RPM signal preferably has to be from ECU which would be regulated voltage. May I ask which car you want to install?
hey bro how to do this mod in a 2012 altok10 i coundnt find the wire near eps module
Will try to find out
So yours is LXi, no tacho in meter console?

Hi James. Glad its helpful😀. Thanks for tuning in👍
Sir kya ye tachometer ya koi aur tachometer tata nexon mein lag jaayega?
Usme bars aate ha jo ki bilkul ajeeb se ha...
Hi Harshmeet. Thanks for tuning in✌
Itni knowledge toh nahi hai magar most probably keh sakta hun ki yeh tachometer tata nexon ke saath compatible nahi hoga. Kyunki alag alag brands ke apne apne electronics architecture hote hain.
@@Autophile ok
loved the vid!! do u think it would work on a alto glx 2015? i just cant find a workshop manual to know if it has RPM sensor..
Hello Yuval. Really glad the video's been helpful 😃👍
Presume that your car Alto GLX is same as Maruti Astar? If yes, then you're lucky. This model gets its own tachometer (34200M68K01). You would also need a new dash panel (73311M68K50-P4Z) and bracket (34285M68K00). Refer this TBHP thread for a well explained DIY installation procedure. www.team-bhp.com/forum/diy-do-yourself/180828-diy-tachometer-installation-wagonr-star-lxi.html
Dude you are a genius!! can i install it in Alto 800 vxi 2021 model??
Thanks a lot buddy👍. Hopefully yes you can install!! RPM signal is key. Try to locate brown wire for that in the eps module. Test the voltage for idle and throttle to confirm its the correct wire. Only then go for purchasing the tachometer. Avoid taking the 'ignition coil' route.
@@Autophile thanks a lot for sharing your valuable suggestion brother!! God bless you!! Totally worth subscribing!!
@@Autophile hey i own a zen lx it has no power steering so m planning to go the ignition coil route so will it affect my car
Ignition coil feed would be raw and unregulated. May cause irreversible damage to the tachometer.
@@Autophile then will it hav that brown wire somewhere in the car
is it works for maruti 800?
Hello Red Bee. I think it should work in m800 mpfi by using rpm signal from ecu. But it won't work in carburetor model.

Can be easily bought from local mgp store directly. Part number is 34200M83KB0. Else order via boodmo.

Hi Nitin. Its available online.
Good helpfull video
Hi Aadi. So glad it is. Thank you😃.
Bro if i install this in my New Alto 800 will it cause any problems like warranty issues due to wire cutting ?
No wire cutting involved to install this tachometer. Just need to prepare the dashboard mount, tap into fuse box for 12v, tap into EPS module connector for rpm signal, tap into IC connector for backlight and ground anywhere on metal frame. However, it is said that any sort of aftermarket electrical modification can void warranty.
@@Autophile So this will not cause issues to the warranty Right?
Buddy, its a matter of heart or mind🙂. Choose wisely.
HUM ALTO K10 ka Full meter Lxi ko Paa Skte hei ?
Hi Sagr. It's not possible kyunki meter ki wiring alag hai. Old Alto meter mein 2 connectors lagte hain lekin K10 meter mein single connector lagta hai.

Is it safe to install ? will i be putting my wiring harness at risk ?
Hi Ajay😀. Been using it for a while now. No sign of any issue whatsoever. Install it without worry👍
Just one small update: Take the 12v power from an ACC fuse instead of direct supply to avoid battery drain.

can you also do this in Suzuki Spresso? 2021 model? would love to see a tutorial for that:)
Hi Jon. I own just the Alto. If only it were possible to get my hands on an Spresso.
Or do you have any idea where to get or download the workshop manual of Spresso. Been looking to this document for such a long time now
Tried searching, but a downloadable document doesn't seem to be available.
Hello Sir,
Will this rpm meter be compatible with Maruti Suzuki Celerio VXI Petrol 2013-2017 model?
Hi Jitesh. In my understanding (as per one info on TBHP), this tacho is not compatible with Celerio since the electrical architecture is different. For rpm signal, there isn't any brown wire in latest models, because all the data between control modules is sent via CAN.
@@Autophile Sir any other solution for rpm? My model is Celerio Vxi Petrol Year 2015
Can think of only a couple of solutions.
@@Autophile Sure, will check
Thank You 😊
Please share service manual link
Hi Prashant. A quick search for "alto workshop manual" will suffice (third result mostly). Appreciate your interest 👍.
Hi man, I’m not really an expert in relays. Should I use a specific type of relay? And which one do you recommend me? Thank you very much :)
Hi buddy. Relay is quite a basic thing. You may get any standard 4 or 5 pin relay, which will do well for this purpose. Here's one amzn.to/3rCDyAh
Bro, where do you find the workshop manual? even though my Wagon R (2008) uses brown wire for RPM signal, I need to make sure it is correct.
Hi Aslam. Hope you have seen this TBHP thread of Ritz tacho install in Waggy 2003 bit.ly/3vqsJD0. The brown wire in coupler K (grey) is indeed for rpm signal. For workshop manual, here's the site which I followed rhinoman.org.
@@Autophile Thanks for the reply, i will check it out.
How much is the cost of this tachometer including fitting.. I also want this
Hi Sasiroc. You'll need following 4 items:
1. Tachometer (get any one you prefer)
- Ritz diesel (34200M83KB0) ₹1,655
- Ritz petrol (34200M83KA0) ₹1,605
- Astar (34200M68K00) ₹1,046
2. Fuse tap cable ~₹150 (for 12v supply)
3. Relay ~₹100 (for backlit function, to control by parking light)
4. Wires
