I built a heavy-tracked vehicle with a winch powerful enough to climb a dam!
LEGO tracked explorer - Winch edition :
Power : 2x LEGO XL motors
Winch power : 2x LEGO L motor
Control : 2x BuWizz
Remote controller : Xiaomi Redmi 9AT (bottom of the dam), Xiaomi Mi 8 (top of the dam).
Footage was shot on Apeman A77 (front on-board), Sony HDR-AS30V (rear on-board) LG G6 smartphone (bottom of dam), Xiaomi Mi 8 smartphone stabilized on Zhiyun Smooth Q3 gimbal (top of dam).

well, this new name made it harder for me to find and i think epic lego was a better/ more classic name.

First of all, thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy my future projects as well! Most of my pieces come from the Bucket Wheel Excavator (set 42055). Besides that, I got some pieces from BrickLink.
what a cool little machine! i remember your merchant ship and landing craft videos, it'd be cool if you made some sort of water vessel that could carry this thing along to go exploring somewhere. loving the stuff though, keep it up :D
Thanks for sticking up with the channel for so long! My next major project is an exploration video. I am really tempted to use the landing craft instead of an amphibious vehicle, but I'll have to be a very precise driver to make it work!

How do you even come up with these mindblowing designs?
I first come up with a sick idea to do something rather extreme. Based on that idea, I design the appropriate vehicle.

what happened to your BuWizz when it overheated?
It couldn't connect to the phone. When I pulled the vehicle up, I saw that it was constantly rebooting and I couldn't shut it down, so I connected both of the track motors to the unit that was working, so I could shoot the vehicle driving away from the dam. It finally shut down by itself after about an hour.
Can't you just pull it up
Yes, but that would be less challenging. The vehicle would be lighter and the winch, as big as I wanted. By mounting the winch on the vehicle you have to overcome the challenge of making it powerful, yet compact and lightweight. And the challenge is what it's all about!
