My wife and I are road tripping through Finland right now and have been re-watching your Finnish and North Cape videos. We are amazed by the numbers of RVs we are seeing on the road, especially north of the Arctic Circle, even as temps are still falling to -15c. We prefer wintering in hotels, not much into winter camping. Love your videos.

What a spectacular journey! The landscape is harshly beautiful. So many reindeer! A victim of 3 car/deer accidents, it made me a bit nervous. It seems the reindeer don't dart out in the road like deer. You showed off your expert driving skills through the narrow roads and tunnels. Fabulous footage and music. Thanks Robert!

Yeah, that's the great thing about Reindeer in summer, they are quite relaxed/docile - and you see them!
At winter it can get nasty: fur turn rather white, high snow and constant darkness makes it super hard to avoid them. If they decide to take the road, and jump/climb the snow barrier, the moment you see them might very well be when it crashes on your hood/windshield. :S

Very entertaining and bold trip all the way to the "northernmost point" of Norway! People hiking on the edge of the road and getting sweeped by arctic wind shows how resilient these Norse folk are! Once the mortgage is done and I am able to survive the carnage at work, this is going to be on my list and this is where my annual leave is going to be used at. Safe travels.

Thank you for another wonderful ride in far off lands I would otherwise never see. I especially like the visit to local grocery stores and I find myself comparing prices of foods with our prices here in the US. Following a few gray days of mist and cold, that spurt of brilliant sunshine along with the brilliantly colored homes really topped this video off, I am looking forward to your next leg of this holiday.

That narrow road, with dashed white stripes indicate that the road are under 6 meters wide, they dont have strip in the midle of the road.
And with max width 2,5 meters for cars, you have plenty of space :)
Skarvbergtunnelen , first one you drive to, are very bad, so thats why they start this year making a new one.
Fun to see what tourist see where we live :D

It's quite humbling to see the stark difference between smooth, round fells on the finnish side and the rough, jagged mountains on the norwegian side. Kinda shame that as a Finn, our closest to that is few "small" (our largest) mountains at the "arm" region in North-West (Kilpisjärvi/Enontekiö).

    2:37
It's nice but that kind of waterfalls are *everywhere* in Norway.
There are some that are *truly* spetacular, not to be negative, but that one is just... nice...
    3:24
Hum, reminds me a bit of Iceland.
I miss having such a open landscape without bloody trees everywhere obscuring most of the landscapes features.
    4:30
Remember last episode you mentioned people acting as if there's a third lane in the road?
Well, many of us are used to roads like this...
And it's a fairly good road btw.
    8:14
    Dangerous?
    Why do you say that?
    8:18
    Ah, that explains it.
And I suspect it's the turn and not so much the tunnel that is dangerous.
"Ulykkespunk" directly translated is "accident point" basically the area has more then normal accidents statistically speaking and they've makred that fact.
That kind of locations tend to be places where cars colide more then normal or where people are run over or some such so the sign is there to notify people to pay more attention then normal and to slow down.
Usually the cause is a difficult turn or roads meeting at a location with poor visibility or some such.
I'm guessing it was referring to the turn before the entrance of the tunnel and not the tunnel itself really as the tunnel has good visibility, looks solid, got good lighting, is reasonably big etc.
(We got a *lot* of tunnels here in Norway, and there are some that genuinly *are* scary, think tiny ones that you barely can fit a small car through with no light in the roof and that is rugged with rocks sticking out on the sides etc and you have to slowly drive single file and try to avoid the rocks sticking out and watch out for traffic from the other side using your night lights only with turns... Yeah, not something you'll find in frequently used roads, but they do exist)
    8:50
Honestly I'd be more worried about *that* sign...
That location is pron to rock slides according to the sign.
The state is of course activly fighting to keep rock slide risks low, but new rocks ends up being loose every year and no matter how much work you do to protect the road there will always be some risk.
    17:43
The "Å" is *not* an "A" but a completely different letter, just so you know. ;-)

Wow! - So you actually found your way to _this_ part of the world Robert! - Such a contrast to watch when compared to your trips in the US, especially when you were down in Florida! - I think your choice of music was fitting to the rather 'monotonous' scenery approaching the cape plateau, but, after having been following you to so many interesting and beautiful places, @ 10:15 I was almost relieved to hear your original 'RV-song' again! 🙂 Safe travels wherever you may go my friend!😉Cheers!🍻

Thank you! I live in Sweden and have actually never seen this special place on video (or for real) Been thinking of driving up there from Stockholm..... but its soo far away, and barren land with pricy hotels etc. RV would be A good choice (Oscar the second was A Swedish king, at this time Sweden and Norway was ONE country)

Sweden and Norway - ONE country....really!!!!
So is that the swedish take on history...
Norway was established as one nation many hundred years before Sweden even excisted.
Up through history Sweden has attacked Norway several times and stolen large land terrltories. Same story with Denmark. None of their neighbours were left to live in peace. Even (what is today) Germany. Polen and Ukraine was invaded by the swedes.
Ask the people in Finland or in the Baltics about beeing under swedish control. I don't think they will call it ONE country.
In 1814 - after near 450 years as a depleted colony under Denmark - Norway declared independence.
( Norway lost their territories.of Faero-islands. Iceland and Greenland to Denmark.)
The swedes had nothing in Norway to do. But they seized the opportumity and attacked. invaded and forced under their control - a defenceless Norway. .
In 1905 Norway again declared independence and again Sweden threatened with war. Luckily that was avoided.
So don't come with some BS about Sweden and Norway as ONE country as if it was a happy marrage. There were no equallity and volontary partnership.
      You could have saved
me the time to write this if you could stick to the historic facts, by writing: Oscar was the king of Sweden which at that time controlled Norway.
Maybe you should spend some time reading history.. Just saying. Good luck..

Great Video once again!, If you like that landscape. A trip to west coast Canada is a must. BC & Alberta, I’ve been out there a couple times and fall in love with it more and more each time. To me there’s nothing more beautiful than the Canadian Rockies
Would love to see a video series from you out there

The very northern part looks like Iceland.

Almost the same latitude. I would love to visit Iceland.

Fun fact: it's actually further north than Iceland. For example Helsinki in Finland is at the same latitude as the southern tip of Greenland. There's a warm ocean current that goes between Iceland and Norway that keeps the Nordic countries relatively warm in the summertime, which is why the entire place isn't covered in snow all year round like Greenland.

Not even close. Iceland is further south by a good margin.

@@TravelingRobert Sorry. but you are wrong. North Cape are far north of anything on Iceland. All of Iceland are south of the artic cirkle. It is some mystery to me why people can't look at a map. Iceland are not so far north as people believe.
Wish you luck on your travels. Cheers from an artic dude.

Nice video once again! It's a pity that you had a little bad weather there, but as you know it can be anything between snowstorm and sun and warmness there in june. I drove to Nordkapp several years ago and there were no snow at all anywhere, but it was in the end of july. Nordkapp is quite a tourist trap but a place that you should see at least once in the lifetime at least if you're European. I am waiting for your video about Lofoten islands!

Next time, I think you should go to Havøysund, not far away from Honningsvåg. Have you heard about the U2 spy plane?
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_U-2
Well, that spy lived in a fjord, called Bakfjord on the way to Havøysund. He nearly made a world war. Selmer Nilsen was his name.
