It was great to help! So glad you found one!
Thanks for being a part of it!
That was brilliant as expected. I saw that wall at the top of the hill and was screaming, "That's the place!" And there you went, you found an Adder. I wish your video could be seen by everyone in Britain, it would be a tragic loss to see them disappear.
Thanks man! Haha, I'll share it as much as I can!
As a herpetologist this video is going to be class
How did you find it?
@@WildlifeWithCookie class as always mate
ah thank you man, that means a lot. I'm not a herp guy so felt out of my depth on this one
@@WildlifeWithCookie I’ve spend days on end with out finding anything so for you to go out and find a European viper first go was pretty incredible
@@ruairiovery5439 I’ve definitely had beginners luck then 😂
Glad you adder good day out mate!
hate everything about this
Well done Cookie👏🏼 great find and love the videos.
I stumbled upon one last year in a woodland, I was hearing movement thinking there was a bird fledgling in the undergrowth, moved it back to find an adder slithering away. Nearly SH*T myself🤣
That is awesome! 99% of the time it's a bird isn't it haha, not surprised that gave you a fright!
10:25 comedy genius 😂
absolute comedy perfection right there enit?!
I didn’t think u would find it nice job! Feels like I’m watching a documentary 😂
Same! I’m not a snake guy at all so wasn’t hopeful of finding anything but glad I did, was so cool
Was a pleasure!
Cheers bro, looking forward to filming with you again!
Cookie man I’m well impressed 💪🏽 keep on delivering! Keep it up buzzing for the next one!
Cheers man! Appreciate that a lot
AS IF YOU ACTUALLY DID IT, unreal scenes
Haha cheers lad! I was so shocked 😂
This is my favourite series!! I love it so much
Ah thank you! That means a lot
Great video m8.....keep up the good work
Cheers my guy!
There are adders on Isle of Portland and wallabies in the Peak District near Buxton
Great video! I had a massive smile on my face when you found one, I'll never get bored of seen them.
Love this series 👍🙌😄
Great video cookie, some great shots of our lovely countryside and the adder 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! the FoD is such a stunning place!
Best video so far you have come a long way @Cookie
You think? Cheers bro!
@@WildlifeWithCookie yep
Top man keep up the good work ✌💖
Thanks bro! Appreciate it
Love the moments where you find them. Great vid cooks.
Same! It’s great fun. Cheers my guy 💪🏼
Love you channel cookie keep up the awesome work I keep snakes myself 😃🐍
Class! What do you keep?
I like the intro song. Great video man keep up the great work 👍
Thanks man! It’s just a non-copyright epic thing I found 😂
Great video. I have seen Adders in Eridge in Kent whilst hiking and grass snakes swimming on the Norfolk Broads.
Yes finally! great video 👍
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it mate 😀
Cool video. In Devon in and around the moors, if you see a sheet of corrugated metal laid flat, 9 times out of ten there’ll be a couple snakes under it. Love to go looking for them with my kids. 👌
I see these all the time mainly under sheets of metal but this was a great vid bro this is the type of stuff i do all the time and you know what if i had the chance I’d probs come looking with lad
This is soooo good Cookie!! Wallabies still my favourite but you just don’t miss
Awww haha thank you! Wallabies my favourite too!
Best one yet!
Ah cheers man! I really appreciate that
This was brilliant cookie 🐍
Cheers bro! I appreciate it
11:24 is the face of disapproval. However, glad you saw it. That's another off the list
😂😂😂😂😂 Plenty more animals to go!
Amazing! We used to find those skins occasionally near my old school. We always thought they were grass snakes though.
I’m now so paranoid about going down to the river and woods near me 😂.
Nah no bother man! These don't wanna be anywhere near you so it's all good haha
Great vids u should come abit further down towards derby and there's load round fishing lakes
Brilliant, as expected of course.
Thank you so much mate, I appreciate that!
Wow I’ve seen a dead grass snake as road kill but never seen an adder. Great find!
Thanks man! Bet the grass snake was a weird one to come across ey
Awesome stuff! I've only ever seen two Adders, and I spend a lot of time outdoors with my dogs, so they are pretty elusive. Funniest snake encounter was down the local nature reserve, again with the dogs. Up ahead I saw a long, dark snake, and thought WTF? is that? Got the dogs to sit, approached,.... and it was dead. Took some pics, and asked around, and it turns out female grass snakes can turn dark with age, which explained the size and colour, but I have to admit, I was cacking myself approaching it.
That must be something I saw then! Bet it was a frightening experience haha
I’ve not been so lucky yet. Great spot!
I remember going to a golf course in Scotland once that had warnings on one of the holes for adders. There's like this huge bushy ditch you have to hit the ball over, and it's highly recommended you don't go looking for your ball if you miss. I ignored them thinking there wouldn't be any, I was wrong and nearly crapped myself when I ran into one lol. The only time I've ever seen a snake in the wild and people still don't believe me when I tell them they are here!
Oh that's mad! F going in that bush lmao
i live near there, great content
Its best to keep snake location secret, great film non the less.
What’s a video! Keep it up!
I was walking a friend's dog and saw a piece of corrugated tin. Carefully lifted it and there was 3 baby adders! About 10cm. I was so happy 😃
I’m so envious. Here in NZ we have no snakes at all (not even in zoos). The most dangerous animal we have is the endangered native spider the Katipo which is very rare now. However their cousin the Redback spider has established itself in parts of NZ, I have hunted them , photographed them and actually been bitten about 3 times ( luckily, no serious symptoms - just a bad local burning sensation). BTW, I like your Allblack jersey 😎
How is New Zealand so safe when Australia just up the road is crazy haha
This was very interesting video Cookie I have managed to see 2 Adders in my life my friend nearly had one fall on him on a Cornish Beach, I believe it fell from a cliff face the top was all scrub that sort of thing he did survive the fall strong fella , and I managed to spot one not to far away I believe near a car park. Didn’t know they might be going extinct that shocked and surprised me...
I also managed to see 2 grass snakes in a Place down Rame Head in Cornwall then acouple of days later I saw one in a place called Wembury just outside of Plymouth in Devon so yeah I’m basically a new Coyote Peterson lol.
Thank you! imagine a bloody Adder nearly falling on your head hahaha
@@WildlifeWithCookie Yeah I would imagine having one fall on you haha!
@@WildlifeWithCookie My nieghbor had a costal carpet snake that was about 3.5m long fall out of a tree on her when she was mowing she lives about 300m from mine and i heard her screaming ran over to see the snake on the ground and her trmbling ahhaha was pretty funny, also i live pretty bush in australia we dont get as many snakes as people think, this summer i havent seen 1 snake, found a few skins but there not as prolific as every one says
You need to go to Cannock chase! I went and I found seven grass snakes and twenty or so adders! I was looking for about four hours only!
A friend and I found a (hissing) black adder when I was very young (about 6). I've often wondered if it was a dream I was remembering what with the snake not even being the usual colour lol. Recently in the same town (Whitley Bay) there have been 2 adder 'attacks' in a local park on dogs and dog walkers alike. I'd love to find another one.
I am starting to be convinced that if Cookie looks for sasquatch he will find it
Omg I seen 1 of these going through a field and picked it up as I thought it was someone's pet that escaped, but as I never had no where to store it until I found the owner I let it go . Omg I could have been hurt or in hospital.
Head to the New Forest, get plenty there! I've seen quite a few
Class! I’ll keep a look out 😎
I've seen a snake in warwickshire!
Rats also soread Weils disease in rivers and lakes.
if wolves come back to england, forest of dean looks like a great place to put them!
Never seen a snake in UK lol nice video
I live 5 miles from there. there's loads been sported. some curled up by the sign on the road
Theres always a tone of adders on Woodbury common near me
class! that's lucky, cherish it
Your right sir.
Been looking for ages
Go early AM wherever you're looking
Ok
I live up north though in Nottingham so might be a grass snake
@@taylorhancock8343 Bradgate Park has some Adders, that's Leicester way
Idle valley nature reserve looks good in Retford
Get up cookie son 🤟
Im 26 live in Australia and have never seen a wild venomous snake here. There quite elusive little bastards good job finding 1 in the uk
my grandad had seen a dead adder at the park like 30 years ago
That’s pretty mad! Where was this?
@@WildlifeWithCookie harrogate
The Adder has been declared extinct in Warwickshire by some authorities although I’m not so sure of that. There used to be a small colony at Coombe Abbey Cookie but I’ve not seen them for years. Heathland is their favourite habitat. I only know of 3 snakes in the UK, Adder, Grass Snake and Smooth Snake...what’s the 4th 🤔
I’m not sure of it either! Aesculapian snake is the 4th one, they’re in London. One for the series at some point
@@Steves_fish That's correct, they climb! I'll probably search for them in London
A true animal anomaly is the European Rat snake that only lives within 1 mile of London Zoo at Regents park
I seen a big cat in forest on dean
I’m watching in the shower, just thought I’d let you know x
got me thinking wild things there lad
Do you reckon you’d find snakes in the north east, like rural parts of Manchester ? Or too far north?
Have you heard about the alligator sightings in the uk? The nhs released statistics saying 8 people were bit by an alligator in the uk an increase from the year before in2019 or 20 can’t remember exactly they don’t specify if the bites were from a zoo or if in the wild tho.
I’ve heard of the Bristol crocodile or something. People keep those sorts of animals as pets and some places look after them etc
@@WildlifeWithCookie in Merseyside they found a dead one near a hospital lol. I went on the governments list of invasive species and they have raccoons on there lol
@@Rottweiler-life Interesting, maybe one dumped by an owner? Raccoons is a common one! I know a charity that rescues them in this country
@@WildlifeWithCookie that’s mad I didn’t even know about raccoons
@@WildlifeWithCookie cool video by the way. I picked up an adder when I was little thinking it was a grass snake my aunt and uncle were screaming at me drop it lol
Yo Cookie 🍪, greetings from Edinburgh. I'm a cryptozoology enthusiast and a fan of your channel.
I can't believe you've given up on the Tiger 😔
How much do you know about the possibility of living Thylacines in the highlands of West Papua and Papua New Guinea?
I can link you to some interesting reports and research. Most of these areas are unexplored and locals, including tribes recognize Thylacines, via photographs as a seldom seen night dwelling Carnivore called a Dobsenga, with pouched young and stripes. It's as likely Tigers survived in PNG like they did in Tasmania.
Anyway, once my Cryptocurrency Investments send me to Mars I will definitely grab a subscription to your content ❤️💪
Also in regards to a small dog sized animal evading humans can only be disproved by Learning about animals like the Saola, not only is Vietnam smaller than your average Australian state, this animal which I'm sure your aware of is the size of cow. I lived in Australia and travelled it extensively, it's vastness is inconceivable.
Hello! I've not given up on it, just looking at the facts you know! I'd love it to be still around. If you can send me stuff to: cookie6videos@gmail.com that would be cool. I've heard bits of the 'Dobsegna' etc. Are you dogecoin to the moon aswell? haha
@@WildlifeWithCookie haha doge, nah no longer a gambler ☺️. Essentia One all the way... Just a poor Scotsman trying to get lucky. It is also my dream to do almost exactly what you do. I'm a film maker 9-5, but client work is a drag, I'd love to just go and make films about what I'm interested in. I was really inspired by your decision to add memberships to your content.
I'll throw you an email about tigers. You should go to the monadhliath mountains and try to film a Native Scottish Wild Cat, there last strong hold.
Totally fair enough 😂 well you’re half way there if you’re already a film maker! Scottish Wildcat is on my list of animals to try and find so hopefully get the opportunity this year
@@WildlifeWithCookie Well, I will expect an invite as your Cinematographer ✊
You might have luck flipping rocks and logs over
I'm so jealous
Haha, get out looking!
Never seen one but have lived in places they are, my aunty and uncle owned a place rife with adders and slow worms and I spent alot of my childhood there yet only ever saw and held a slow worm. Suprised it's not known we have a venomous snake in the UK altho not deadly to your average healthy adult.
Get out looking! And yeah the average person just doesn't have a clue haha
@@WildlifeWithCookie It's crazy, I mean I've grown up walking around dartmoor but never seen one. Closest I've come to it was seeing a common lizard whilst volunteering at slapton sands one summer and they have snakes at that nature reserve aswell!
Is that Forest of Dean
There are millions in North Wales
Is this really an anomaly, they're native and you can easily find them if you travel to the right places at the right time.
People don’t know we have snakes in this country, so yes. I did a Tiktok that has 46k views about it too, Joe Public just doesn’t know. To wildlife people though, this isn’t news, of course
@@WildlifeWithCookie I feel like a lot of people do, alot of my friends and family members aren't into wildlife at all but still know we have snakes and adders.
I guess to people who just live dead end jobs in the middle of the city it might be that for them.
Hell i found out about adders when i was like 6.
@@WildlifeWithCookie I don't think it should've been marked as animal anomalies, of course it''s presumably the most popular series on your channel so for the views it was wise.
Worth a video but i don't think it fits in with animal anomalies.
My dog was bitten by an adder, it survived but had to go to the vets
Bless it man, not pleasant ey
@@WildlifeWithCookie it's ok now 😀
@@graham9352 glad! Bet it was a rough experience for it
Do you let your dog off-lead?
Lol he clearly put that there 🤨
Atleast he's not like the other idiots that don't respect wildlife. As It's illegal to disturb and mess with them. Well done! Blessings from Scotland. 🙏🏴🌹
Thanks haha
Not illegal to disturb them, just heavily advised against, the only reptiles which are illegal to disturb are smooth snakes and sand lizards.
Adders have normal reptile protection (No harming, selling, trading) , while I agree they should have the same as sand lizards and smooth snakes.
@@striderwhiston9897" Snakes are protected by law. All snakes in the UK are protected under The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 Schedule 5. It is an offence to kill, injure or take a native snake" . I was just complimenting him on his respect of reptiles/animals. There's many people that think messing with snakes are fine aslong as they get a few likes. I do agree with you. Blessings from Scotland. 🙏🏴🐍
@@EveHyland-in8jb9ti9y Yes, but not illegal to disturb them or even keep them as a pet (aslong as you have the proper license), you can actually keep any of our native reptiles as pets excluding sand lizards and smooth snakes aslong as you care for them properly and do not sell or trade them.
Let’s not 😬
