- Today I went to go film a train at a crossing I hadn't got on film yet. On the day I go to record it, the crossing doesn't turn on! That's quite a rare malfunction to not even have the lights turn on while the train is approaching.

Thanks! It really is. Just imagine if it was a busy road. It would've been much more stressful for the engineer and conductor.
@@xxxman360 Manually protecting a crossing happens all the time.
Also, no conductors on VIA trains.

@@xxxman360 VIA has two engineers on every train. The Service Manager is the lead person in the coaches; they are not rules qualified and so not do anything involved in train movement. Both engineers take the responsibility of running the train in all aspects.
