Hi Sir, We can training directly NDE Level III, no time NDE level II according to SNT-TC-1A right? Because I saw in paragraph 6.3.2 in SNT-TC-1A they only mention beyond NDT level II "REQUIREMENTS" IN AN ASSIGNMENT COMPARABLE TO NDT LEVEL II. Thanks you so much. I was really confused this.
Most of the NDT training institutes state that their training program is in comply with SNT-TC-1A and issue L2/1 certification. How come these certificate is valid if this standard if only for employer based??
Ofcourse it is Employer Based. If NDT training institutes are following for years a wrong practice, it does not mean that it is correct. Already ASNT is creating awareness regarding this. If NDT institutes are following a practice which is wrong for years, that is their ignorance. For that standard cannot do anything. Some have corrected now but many are following this practice as business.
@@ansatrainingqualityassuran3619 Okay, and how about ASNT offering the ASNT NDT L3 certification, it's also in accordance with SNT-TC-1A. But this certificate is valid irrespective of the employer!!? Could you please help me to understand this. Thank you.
@@hehehaha755 ASNT NDT LEVEL III is a third party certification offered by ASNT directly not by any institute or employer which is as per CP-ASNT-1C. Please find below the lines which are taken directly from CP-ASNT-1C scope. "This document establishes the system for ASNT Level III certification in nondestructive testing and predictive maintenance in accordance with Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A. Certification under this system results in the issuance of an ASNT certificate attesting to the fact that the certificate holder has met the published guidelines for the Basic and Method examinations as detailed in Recommended Practice SNT-TC-1A." @@ansatrainingqualityassuran3619 Thanks for the reply, my doubt is ASNT offering ASNT NDT L3 certification as per CP-ASNT-1D (latest) which is again in accordance with SNT-TC-1A, but as this Recommended practice is employer Based how come the Certificate is still valid irrespective of the employer( even it's been issued by ASNT?), How ASNT is different from an institute or employer in this case. Thank you.
@@hehehaha755 Kindly go through in full CP-ASNT-1C to have a better idea. ASNT NDT Level 3 is a thrid party certification. There is a difference between third party and employer based certification. If person is holding ASNT Level 3 certificate, it does not mean that he is eligible to be accepted directly by the company. Still the employer can take his Specific examination. Go through SNT-TC-1A in detail also May I know your name and from which place you are. Thanks
Detection rate is number or percentage of false calls allowed. It shall be stated by the Level 3. In case if the candidate gives more than the stated false call, he is bound to be failed. But everything has to be stated in the written Practice by Level 3.
Dear Sir As of now it is still 2016 only as given in asnt.org. Please find the link below www.asnt.org/MajorSiteSections/Certification/ASNT_NDT_Level_III/Examinations.aspx Just click the BASIC, you can see 2016 version. Thanks. Kumaran

Correction at 14:07 NDT Level 1: It's Specific " Standardization" as per 2020ed.
Understood the false call. But what is detection rate?
