Dave the Squirrel Has a Saturday Breakfast (1-18-25)

It's been slow lately at the squirrel cafe. We still have two or three young squirrels who come first thing in the morning and Maryetta during the day. The others have been coming only a couple times a week, and Joey has been gone since 1/6. Maybe mating season isn't over in some other part of the neighborhood.
Last Saturday, we had a long visit from one of our more laid back male squirrels, Dave. I believe he was Mrs. Munchie's boyfriend a few weeks ago when I held a persimmon for them late one afternoon.

We have bird feeders above the camera. Finches, sparrows, doves, and munias are usually hanging out. Its nice background sound. Well, until the finches start fighting. Lol

When Dave got spooked by something, he sat so still i thought the camera had stopped only for the birds chirping 🤭
I hope Joey will turn up soon 🤞
