I watched your disassembly video and took mine apart before watching this one... lessons learned lol
well it went back together. Pain in the butt to put it back in by myself. I don't feel I want to do it again. :)
@@CarModsGarage I’m stuck trying to get the two case halves back together. Any tips on getting the selector rods to all line up with there holes in the opposing casing? Looks like I can get two lined up, but then the case doesn’t want to slide together
Oh man that's the reason why I don't ever want to do this again. Get another person to help. I put it standing up in a way I could close from the top and ended up working after hours and hours.
@@CarModsGarage thanks! Did it slide in eventually or did you have to use some force? (Dead blow hammer? 😵)
@@mattbush315 man I can't remember but I believe I used gently a mallet. I remember suffer to align everything myself with the heavy cover though. I must've said how I did it on my last video on the transmission. You still stuck trying to get it back together?
Oh man what a pile of work! I can't wait tell it's back together
next challenge will be to to replace all the wire harness cover by a new one and chrome tape everything. Also CLEAN again :( and paint the engine bay
Great video, What is the name of the black plastic piece and what purpose did you touch with the index finger of your left hand at minute 7:30?

@@alfredosanchez1217 I don't really know. I opened and closed it. I regretted doing it. It was so hard to put it back together by myself
Me ha servido mucho para reparar mi auto, los sellos de salida de la flecha son los 3459s? Que marca es la mejor?
Oh man I don't know the answer for that. I think I got those seals at AutoZone in America but it has been to long
Uff muchas gracias m animaste a abrir mi transmisión ya q m daño el sincronizador!!
Buena suerte mi amigo
Hey Marcos your almost there, keep up the good work. Remember I told you my speedometer isn't working because the yellow ring on the differential got out of its place?, can you please tell/show me on your next video how to install it?, I'm curious if I can just press it in or maybe drill and put a couple of screws to prevent this from happening again.
you mean the yellow ring from the diff?
Yes
@@jackvandik Ok just saw it. You need to press it in. There are two tabs that should keep it from sniping and it should be good. No drilling necessary. I have a PDF with the specs for this transmission and this is in there also. I can send it to you if you want. Shoot me an email at marcos@carmodsgarage.com if you want that
Ok sounds great, I will email you, I appreciate your help.
It just clips onto the diff housing with two plastic tabs, but the rings seem to soften and expand as they age, so speed sensor ring gear falling off is pretty common as these transaxles get older. I've tack welded small metal tabs over the plastic retaining clips on some of mine to prevent it from coming loose. If it comes off on it's own or with minimal force, replace it, because it's not going to stay in place. It's a cheap part.
Hi there. I'm doing the same procedure displayed on this video, but I'm facing a big problem. The back of the input shaft keeps falling down (cone ring snd synchro) so that tiny ball bearings falls too from the synchro ring. Is there some retainer needed?
Oh dang I don't have any trick for that. It was a pain to do it alone. Keeping the transmission sideways helped me
Assemble the gear set on the clutch housing side of the case, then drop the gear housing over the top of it. Install the bearings in the back (top) of the case to hold it in, then flip it back over, install the output shaft roller bearing (i prefer to install it in the housing with a ton of grease to hold it in place, then set that over the top of the gear housing), lay down your sealant bead, settle the clutch housing in place and line up the shift rails so it drops, bolt it together, you're done.
Where did you get the seals from?
From Amazon for sure. Can't remember anymore
Tengo un dodge neon y esto me sirve mucho ya que usa el mismo motor (420a) y la misma transmisión (nv-t350)
Dude. That last gear u put in… why didn’t u show how to take it out😂😂that part has been stopping me from achieving success
😂 oh brother sorry! I can't remember how I did either. I just remember that it was all such a pain to put back together. I hope you made it!
@@CarModsGarage so how do you take it out? Im trying to pull it and it isn’t budging
@@CarModsGarage rly need ur assistance man😭
It’s like my shaft isn’t budging dude
Try to spin the shaft a bit. I think there is some sort of washer at the end that sort of locks it is and when you spin and pull it unlocks it. I can't quite remember. It's been so many years. I still have the car but don't remember how I took it out and apart anymore

Cuál es el grado de viscocidad del aceite, para esta caja ? Gracias.
this one amzn.to/2Oy47Gd. No problem :)
Do you rebuild 420a transmissions for fun or as a job because I’m doing a auto to manual swap and I need someone to clean it and replace anything that’s needs to be replaced if you can do it how much would you charge
Hey, sorry I am not a mechanic. I do stuff like that as a hobby and for my cars so I can not only help people online but also get my builds done. I would suggest you to find a transmission shop. They have the proper tools and expertise to get the job done :)
Car Mods Garage thanks for the suggestion your one of my favorite RUclipsrs and one of my inspirations if you need any eclipse body panels headlights or anything let me know I have a 2g eclipse parts car so if you need anything I can help
@@thatblue3.617 it really makes me happy and keep going with the channel. I rely appreciate your support.
I'll ask you for parts of I need anything and you do the same. :)
Give it up, you don't know what your doing!
Thanks. I appreciate your attitude! lol
@@CarModsGarage yeah i know you love it
