OH boy, does this take me back to 1997. I've been building proton packs for almost 20 years and seeing an old-school cardboard / found object -'Scrap' pack makes me nostalgic. this was how we all made our packs before 3D printers and online sites that offered kits. can't wait to see more of the build.
Whoa! This is brilliant, Danny. If I hadn't watched you build it, I would never have imagined it was made of cardboard and packing tubes! It looks like metal!!! The labels sell it, but painting all those "welds" was the clincher. If there is something everyone should take away from this (besides learning how to make a fantastic replica), it would be to never throw away anything that has a unique or unsual shape. I think I'll go inventory cardboard, packing tubes, and all those odd shaped parts! Hazah! This was a long video and you covered a ton of stuff!!! The voiceover keeps things rolling along. It fun and entertaining. I really appreciate all the time you took to compose and edit it! I can't wait to see the next installment! Thanks so much!
Awesome proton pack DIY!!!!! I love not only your Harry Potter DIY but also your other movies’ props DIY🔥🔥🔥 The Grays sports almanac DIY you recreated last year was heavy🔙 I can’t help waiting your next videos!!!
Holy cow, this is so epic! I’m not a Ghostbusters fan (except for the theme song), but I so appreciate the tremendous effort you put into this, Danny. The finished product is astounding!
OMG! No wonder that took so long to make! It’s so intricate! And it looks great. I love watching your videos, even though I don’t make the pieces. Maybe when I retire in 5 years…
It looks great! That's the thing with proton packs, there's so much detail that your eyes don't linger on anything long enough to notice imperfections. You're probably the only one who will know they are there. I tried to do this for Halloween 2022 and also seriously underestimated how long it takes. I had to pivot to a faster costume and finished it for Halloween 2023. It took all my free time for about 6 weeks for the whole costume.
Mate! I love the fact that we love the same thing! I was obsessed with your HP DIYs, and I made a great party out of them. And now my other favourite, the Proton pack! :D I know what I am gonna be for next Halloween :D (also my other fav is Back to the Future and the Flux Capacitor, what I built up - guess -, from cardboard (and some other stuff)) Thanks for your ideas and videos again! Can't wait to see my pack ready :D
great job! card board is good.. but if you want to protect it better from the elements, you should plasty dip it and then paint it with some good spray paints enamel in particular, and that should help it with the elements, might not be full proof but will be better. again great job on the build!
Hi Danny, great build! Can you provide a link to the ribbon cable you used? I have been building a pack since around the time you started (Oct 23) using mostly found objects from Home Depot, etc to complement a Hasbro pack. This vid will def help me with some of the more odd bits.
Do you think that this proton pack build would be suitable to wear to a house party - considering going as an original ghostbuster with some friends (17) and obviously cardboard isnt the most sturdy material. alternatively, do you think it would be more sturdy to follow a tutorial which makes one from EVA foam? How long would you say the build took you in total?
I really tried to have that done by Halloween this year, but I just didn't quite make it there. I will still post the video but it will be after Halloween.
@@wizardryworkshop Hey mate! :) Are you sure you uploaded the correct schematics? Because the folder with 8,5x11 contains 2 files less than the 11x17! I am missing the synchronous generator for sure (only the top I have) Can you check it please? Thanks a lot!!!
Great, I'm glad you got them downloaded. Also, I am working on the particle thrower (gun) part of the pack as I type this message. It will be released before December.

Is this really pricey to build..I dress up as a Ghostbuster at comic cons and Halloween..It does not look really heavy for walking.. I have been saving my money for a while for a proton pack..most of the parts easy to find..great job..big Ghostbuster fan

AWESOME! The Ghostbusters would totally love your work, Egon you will be missed.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!
@@wizardryworkshop Your welcome, more like LOVE IT!
This is incredible!! This level of resourcefulness & creativity is so inspiring. The very reason I fell in love with Halloween as a kid.

What widths are the computer ribbon and the heat sink? Following along nicely
It looks great and its good for people like me who cant buy a proton pack.

I've made the pack but I'm struggling to find plans for the wand my disabled sons gunna love this thankyou danny
There, unfortunately, aren't any detailed plans for the gun. I'm planning to make one before Halloween this year. If I do, I'll post the tutorial!

WOAH I'm definitely going to make this for my Phoebe costume this year! How long did it take you to fully make this?
Several days, with at least a few hours each day...
Hi Danny, I would like to know where I can download the internal map template, I couldn’t find it in your store. Can you help?
Th is for this video!! I don’t see the spacer part in the downloads. The one you are cutting out at 6:37 on video. Please advise
Hi same problem, did u find any solution?
Sorry about that! I've updated the files!

Hey mate!
Is there a second part of the video somewhere, how to continue to built it? And how did you change the lights what you mentioned?
Thanks 😁
I will be posting part 2 before Halloween! As things are right now, to change the lights, you can access them through the back doors I created.
@@wizardryworkshop I hope it won't be only just days before Halloween. It would be nice if I could finish it for Halloween too 😁
My plan is to have mine done well before Halloween, so the video should be up with enough time.
@@wizardryworkshop Hey mate! :)

Thanks a lot!!!
Hmmm let me check.
I can't believe that is mainly out of cardboard.
I made one too but with random item's I found around the house and from the hardware store.
Its heavy
That was my original plan! But I couldn't find anything too accurate, and I wanted it to look like the one in the movie (as much as it could).
What is custom full working proton packs made of ? A hard plastic?
How did you get the life size printed plans, I only get the plans that fit on an A4 sheet of paper from Stefan's pdf file
I created my own based on his plans. They are linked in the description.
@@wizardryworkshop Yes I have printed out the plans from Stefans pdf plans did you scale them up? Want to make if for my grandson
You want my templates, also linked in the description box.
@@wizardryworkshop I got it thanks. This is going to be an awesome Christmas gift, thanks for taking the time to draw the templates.

Will you continue this series?
@@NerdPanic yes!
Nice. How much does it weigh? Also, will there be a neutrona wand build?
Yep, there will! I need to make it before Halloween. I don't know the exact weight but it's not much!
I can't seem to find the templates after clicking on the link?
When you click the link, you are taken to my website. From there, the link is under the video.
you can use mod podge to make it "water proof"
Can I buy one from you ?
where can I get your jumpsuit?
I found it on Amazon.
Where could I get the templates please I can't find them
In the description box
I beg you to make the video on the neutrona wand!
I really tried to have that done by Halloween this year, but I just didn't quite make it there. I will still post the video but it will be after Halloween.

It's called an ALICE frame. You can buy one for $100 or so, OR you can wait because i am making a DIY for it!
@@wizardryworkshop ok, I'll wait
