One thing I like about Westerns is that they are film outdoor or in a town . No CGI or superheroes or zombies just cowboys and their horses with a wholesome style that welcomes you. Thanks 4 posting.
A very good episode of "Zane Grey Theater." I appreciate the listing of the cast - this episode had good primary and supportive cast players.

First class entertainment - my favorite episode of the Zane Gray Theatre series as of right now!
There definitely should have been more sequels with the same theme and cast, the Madison-Akins combination is simply hilarious in this!
Madison hadn't lost his good looks. Thankfully, his acting improved somewhat.

I wonder if this was a PILOT for a possible new TV series starring GUY MADISON. It seems to have all of the earmarks of one. It was near the end of the line for ZANE GREY THEATRE . It would have made sense . Alison was , as always, sultry and beautiful....and always ANGRY (WHY ??) and . conversely, Beverly Garland, another ''always angry" actress, was unusually sad and feminine in this episode
No matter what the project......Beverly Garland always gave it her best!............even in movies like Alligator People...
Lots of great character actors & a real, live plot. Blood, but no cussing or sex. That was typical until about 1975. YeeHah! folks
I liked the story but the ending was rather over the top. For the record, the real Judge Parker was a relatively young man (37) when he became a federal judge in 1875. He died shortly after his office was abolished in 1896 at the age of 58. In 1889 Congress changed the law to allow capital punishment appeals to be argued before the Supreme Court, so this story likely would have taken place when Parker was 51. Despite the "Hanging Judge" moniker he received, the truth is he tried 13,490 cases of all types, sentenced no more than 160 defendants to death, of which only 79 were executed. Ironically, he was an opponent of capital punishment and did his best to save the convicted from a rope, but for these capital cases the only allowable punishment at the time was death.

I hate it when a show ends so abruptly. It seems like the ending is missing because there is no real closure. Maybe whomever uploaded this particular show was worried about Copyright laws so I hold nothing against them but it would be nice to know if I could find a version that had the real ending if there is one. Thanks for the show, it was very good.

Type and search for it yourself. Pretty sure you'll find it on RUclips. Not sure which subscription I have that it's under but I remember seeing all Zane greys on one of them.

some ppl may not agree but, i think madison had the cutest nose i ever saw on a man. lol. good actor, too. he was addicted to milk! no booze, just milk. he was married ton the prettiest actress in the biz: debra paget. catch her in The Angel & the Bad Man with john wayne.
That actress was Gail Russell & both women were beautiful. Ms. Paget was in Broken Arrow with Jimmy Stewart & also The Ten Commandments & Love Me Tender with Elvis. Her sister Lisa Gaye was also an actress and a brunette like Ms. Russell.
