- A mysterious unfriendly man comes to a remote mountain town to buy supplies and causes the locals to wonder why he is there. He further puzzles them when he sets up a homestead next to a long played out mine and puts up a 'No Trespassing' sign. Meanwhile, the owner of the town's General Store and his daughter are battling their own demons.

Clint Walker looks like a giant in this show.
6'6". Not a giant. But much bigger than almost every other actor.
A man's man, who had everything going for him.
The ladies loved him....obviously.
@@siegfriedhorner44366'5" To be precise!
Love the movie but what a STUPID way to end it
He reminds me of the character in the song, Big John .
@siegfriedhorner4436 most tall actors were 6 , 4..eg Rock Hudson
That was a rather weak end to the story.
I thought it was only in India (my country) and perhaps entire South Asia where privacy was scarce !
In fact we do NOT HAVE A WORD for "privacy" in our 20 + languages in India.
You do in at least one of india's languages--English.
Back when tv had decent shows. Not like the garbage today. Great cast here. Cclint Wlaker, Robert Duval.
Yeah, tv you were sure you could watch with your grand mother and not be embarrassed.
Back then was old school. Quality.
Clint was very conservative, and never played the Hollywood game. Today he would be maligned for that. Love everything he did!!!
I remember Walker from the time I was a small kid, in black and white TV, and only now I realize that he was a huge guy, what a most imposing actor, but with a surprising gentle demeanor despite his physique. He died in 2018, just 2 weeks before his 91st birthday.
He was 6'6" and a very handsome man.
@@paanne1013 He was, quite impressive.
My husband is named after Walker. He was my father-in-law's favorite actor in the 1950s. In 2015 my husband received two autographed photos addressed to him from Mr. Walker who was living in the Grass Valley area (Sacramento) at the time. Walker had a web site but I think his wife removed it after his passing.
@@karenthompson1539 My daughter lived in Grass Valley for awhile. I also knew that he lived there. She had a very nice house in the middle of the woods. I understand he had a house nearby. I was always hoping that when I went to visit my daughter that i would be walking around town and he might just happen to be there. Would have been cool to run into him. I am originally from Humboldt county and attended a church there. The pastor announced that Clint Walker was going to speak on that Sunday, and wouldnt you know it, I missed church that day.
I always watched his movies.seemed like a gentle big handsome man.
Only Clint Walker could be shown nursing the last few miles out of a beater, a real fugitive from a junkyard, and look good while he scornfully watches it tumble down into the ravine he's pushed it into. What a portrait that is.
Beater? I'd call that a classic -- or what was a classic. I guess it wasn't his, from the way he disposed of it so quickly, like it was an empty soda can.
This KST has a more poignant message than is apparent at first. David Wolfe simply wants to be allowed to live a life of solitude, which is his right. OTOH, his meddlesome neighbors insist on butting into his life thinking this is their right just as much. The only one who seems to think David should be left alone, is Ramsey's daughter Ellen who he has forced into a life of loneliness with his overbearing guardianship. It's the same old thing: busy bodies think they've the right to run other peoples' lives, instead of minding their own business. In the end, they spoil their relationships with everyone.
True and true.
❤ Clint Walker❤😊. Robert Duvall always played a creep😮. I miss these people and this type of show.
He played a bad guy in True Grit.
I always love to see Clint Walker. And I always hated to see Robert Duval because until he got old, he always played a..hole characters.
Thanks a lot for uploading and sharing this old movie.
Best regards, luck and health in particular.
I know right. His best role to me was Tom Hagin in the Godfather. That is when I started respecting him😊
@@tumarah-hv6gf
I guess I haven't seen Godfather (at least not that I remember). But "Second hand lion" (with Michael Caine) and especially "Open range" (with Anette Bening and Kevin Costner)...
Best regards, luck and health in particular.
I first saw this when I was six,What a great movie,very heart felt.Great cast I give 10 out of 10
People are nosy they can't handle someone who isn't like them
Nosy people are usually dissatisfied with their own lives, either that or they're just straight up disagreeable, and want to know because of boredom.
The Clint Walker character is what good men should be like. Strong, disciplined, well mannered and loving types.
How do you know people are nosy ?? Is this not solely a female trait do you like people unlike you , do you always stick your nose in other people's business ??what did you have for breakfast??
Yup da idiot crowd has a lot of members
Petty police are nosy and most people are small and nosy..
Great entertainment! Great story! I love Clint Walker! So, so handsome! Don't know whatever became of him.
He passed away a few years ago. 😢
He lived with his wife in Grass Valley , California & died in 2018 . Good looking man & good actor .
Ever hear of Google?
...yes he would have ' googled ' , but some people get a kick out of getting a reply to their comments...@@jonhohensee3258
He is a whole man
A WHOLE lot of man.
Used to love to watch him in his series Cheyenne.
I have vague memories of seeing airings of Cheyenne on TV. Am very surprised to read that actor George Chandler (Doc Baines here) used to play jazz violin before he went to Hollywood!
I bought a season of Cheyenne at the Dollar Tree. Was super surprised to find that, and for $1.25.
Walker's TV series Cheyenne are still aired on the Western channel on Dish. My husband watches them frequently.
It's environmentally bad to push wreckers into ravines instead of recycling. Always liked Clint Walker. Always remember Robt Duval's roll as Boo in "To Kill a Mocking Bird".
You might notice the time period of this movie, "recycling" hadn't even been thought of😮

Good eye .
Probably the most romantic and saddest story ever
Strange that the more time passes and the more advances we have in technology the worse tv and cinema get.
Just imagine him today - absolutely tailor made for Jack Reacher. A perfect fit.
😔 “Portrait Of An Unknown Man”. The title itself brought me down.. remembering a photo found in an old house of a soldier with no script of any kind and that made me sad that day. That fellow man was dear to someone and belonged to a family who honored him enough to frame his picture. 😓 May he rests in peace.
Just a question, folks if anybody is reading this.. there was this western film which featured a strong tall man just like our fellow here and came to a town looking forward to be hired for any kind of a job he could do but others got so unlike him until a lady who’d had a land met him and made use of his strength to work and protect altogether. I forgot what the plot was but he unfortunately, gets killed in the end which was quite jaw-dropping and sad. Does anybody remember such a motion picture? It was old. Could have been colorized. I’d like to watch it again.😊
Thanks for posting this! That Johnny Williams series score is a real hook.
The massive Clint Walker was 36 here. This was shortly after the end of his long-running "Cheyenne" series.
Mala Powers ("Ellen Ramsey") was 32 here. She had her first acting role at age 11 (uncredited) in the movie "Tough as they Come," but then switched to radio work where she met Ida Lupino. At age 19, Lupino gave her the leading role of "Ann Walton" in her landmark movie "Outrage" in 1950.
Oscar-winning Robert Duvall was 32 here and he's still with us as of this writing in 2024 at 93 years of age! He had already appeared in a few TV productions for a few years before this but his first movie role was as "Boo Radley" in "To Kill A Mockingbird" two years before this episode of "Kraft Suspense Theater."
Exactly 💯 leave him alone
The daughter is afraid of her own shadow kinda sad
Very poignant and well acted
Thank you from Moscow.
Great cast!
That little cabin is an Airbnb now😂
😂
Clint Walker great actor
That was a fine story and well made and acted.
He's so big I thought it was Charles Atlas!
A nicely paced TV show .
Good storyline , script and acting .

Country town people have got nothing better to do than to stick their nose into another person's business.
What did you have for breakfast?? What job do you have greeting from a small town in Spain where the internet is slow compared to the gossip machine 🤪😃🤓

Clint Walker 😍🤩😍
A curious and interesting little story.I liked it
Clint Walker. What a man.
You should have run for president
That was dimb. He could have gotten at least twenty bucks for that wreck.
