I will leave this comment here for the newbros. Its not specific for marauders but certainly for all battleships. Learn about suspect baiting. When that pesky frigate (usually a Nergal, but it could be anything really) comes and steals your loot, or pesters you when you are in a mission...DO NOT SHOOT. He might be in a little (assault) frigate and you might be in a mighty battleship. He will very likely kill you and drink your salty tears. Dont be fooled. Usually i just try and have a chat with him/them. Very often they are happy to talk about how it works. Which is also a point worth emphasizing for the newbros. When someone does blow your ship up talk to them. You might learn a thing or two. EVE players show their affection by sending ordnance to others. :)
I think the core thing that you missed is that in order to gank somebody in a mission you need to be combat scanned. Often if you keep dscan at 1 au and pulse it regularly you’ll see combat probes coming. Once youve seen combat probes at 1au its time to ditch the site and assume they know where it is even if you leave.
Yeah, but be aware. There are combat sigs/anoms outside of highsec that you might end up hitting. Lots of people are out doing legit exploration but they are also the obvious ship option for a scout. Gated sites are definitely better though. That site is not safe. Doing all this doesn't make you safe - you're only safe for as long as your cloak holds - but they all give you a better chance of surviving. That's why I keep my dscan at long. I'd like to know if and when they're deployed rather than when they're on me. As long as you're spamming v (or your bound key) you're in better shape than the guy who doesn't.
I've been playing off and on since 2009 and I always find myself enjoying the grind of Level 4 missions, lol. Something I like to do is bait the gankers. It's usually pretty obvious when they're around as members in Local will suddenly spike to 30+ new contacts. If you mission in popular hubs, you will commonly see them using local celestial structures as staging grounds, often just sitting in a ball on an industrial complex or monument/observatory, occasionally traveling around to nearby star systems like a swarm of locusts If gankers show up I will deliberately go out of my way to put myself in their crosshairs, usually talking smack on them in Local, literally linking my ship fit and daring them to try, etc. Then I go run some mission with like 5 acceleration gates, get through all of them as fast as I can, then micro jump in the last room and just sit there. Why be so far from where the acceleration gate drops you? So when the gank fleet shows up, you can just warp away, lol. They still have to follow the rules with that. They may be able to probe you down but they won't be able to warp to 0 on your ship. If they do, they'll have to boat to all the acceleration gates you took until they run into you. Once I MJD in the last room of the mission, I align to one of many safe bookmarks I've established and watch d-scan. I set d-scan to 4AU and check it every 5 or so seconds. I filter d-scan so it only shows combat probes and other ships. If I see combat probes within 4AU I know I'm about to be probed down. Then I'll tweak the radius to 1AU and keep checking. The distance tweak is to be alerted of any ships within that radius. If I see any ships that close, they're in my mission and I should get ready to warp out. Sometimes gankers wise up and use an alt in covert ops to scope out a target, so d-scan will not reveal these ships. Other times, they may be good enough to scan you down using d-scan and not even use any probes. However, d-scan will always show you the blob of 50 catalysts hurdling towards you at warp speed and this is where every gank attempt is going to reveal itself to you early. I'll wait until I see them show up in the room I'm in (after all, I want them to waste their time running through all the rooms to reach me). Then I'll just warp away, lmao. This makes gankers unbelievably salty, but as long as they're screwing with me, they aren't trying to hunt someone else so I see it like a public service. All that business with d-scan and micro jumping gives me ample buffer time to make sure all my ducks are in a row so I can warp the moment I see them on my overview. In terms of trying to run missions while gankers are active in your system, the same rules apply. NEVER sit in the spot acceleration gates dump you. I almost always have to MJD anyway so this is just part of doing the mission for me. Using Bastion is fine, as long as you're at least 100km away from where gankers would appear if they used an acceleration gate. Be extremely careful in missions with no gates as these are "unprotected" --- they will be able to warp to you at 0 in these missions. I probably wouldn't run any with no gates. Gates provide a lot of buffer and advanced warning with d-scan that gateless missions can't give you. When it comes to traveling to other nearby systems to do missions, sometimes they might use their single brain cell to gatecamp you on the way back. If you leave a system to run a mission, NEVER take the same stargate back. Find a different route if you can, and if you can't, I personally wouldn't do that particular mission.

Learn the ebbs and flows of the region. Is it mostly EUTZ or US? Learn the enemies who come calling. They are actually pretty predictable. Usually the same folks, because everyone has a fave hunting ground. 4. Probe down the anomalies. While you're logging in and watching local, get in that frig and probe down the local red bubbles. Is there any kind of interaction that makes it possible to escape from wormhole ganks if youre doing sites there? Heppened twice that out of nowhere i was scrammed and couldnt mjd or warp out after bastion and git just burnt out
There are warp stabilizers you can fit, but typically if you bring a mauradwr into wormhole space you are asking to get ganked I almost always fly more slippery ships, like the Proteus or other T3 Cruisers
What is the advantage of a Marauder (Golem) over a faction battleship (Rattlesnake/Machariel)? I only run missions in hi-sec, and if I'm honest, running them in my Rattlesnake is the same as doing them on Easy Mode. Same for the Marauder. I trained up to lvl5 on Mauaders so I could fly one compentently, but after flying both for quite awhile, I just don't see the risk v. reward making me want to fly it that often. What am I not seeing/doing?
primarly TANK and range + application of dmg. Golem will have better range and dmg application than rattlesnake, but most of the time a marauder can tank 10x (maby much but you get the point) the damage than faction battleships even. Golem is nice but personally prefer rail kronos, instant dmg application up to 250km so in range of any and all mission spawn area with 2.5k dps all t2 modules no bling
Drone reliant ships have to either deal with drone travel time, or reduced DPS of sentries compared to heavies, making Drone boats much less optimal for lvl 4s. Gunships will do tad bit better than missile ships too, due to not having to manage exact number of salvoes so as not to waste ammo and time. Rattle, unfortunately, is both drone and missile ship... Put those things together, and note that Marauders get more Raw DPS without any bling - and you may start to see why people running missions tend to prefer them. It's all about time efficiency, so the less time spent on a mission, the more isk/h one can expect. Also - with current prices, Marauders aren't much more expensive than faction BS. The one thing that might hide the true potential of marauders might be the meta of using long-range sniper fits. Which by default have less DPS than their shorter-range counterparts. I personally have been having quite a bit of fun with a Blaster fit Kronos in lvl4s. Null with 2 tracking comps with optimal loaded will do better than Javelin at 50ish km range - which is around the max any NPC will orbit you. Heck, it will even hit approaching Frigs as close as 20km, sometimes closer, thanks to better tracking. And if you know your missions and know in which ones you can just load Void... ( ^w^) Granted, not all missions are suited for Short-range weaponry, and a few are definitely easier/faster with a sniper fit. Those that ARE suited for Blasters, however, can get done MUCH faster. Also - refitting at your missions hub for a specific mission is a pretty basic and effective tool at your disposal. The main concerns of using a short-range marauder would be safety and cap stability. Safety - because it's easier to gank someone potentially sitting on the warp in, to stay in weapons range of NPCs. And cap - because brawling will require more tank than sniping, which will use up much more energy. The latter isn't a large issue on marauders, due to their taking bonuses, but something to keep in mind nonetheless. And one more thing - not stacking your guns is another way to slightly improve your ammo/time efficiency. This is more efficient on a Marauder, due to a single weapon packing much more punch compared to regular/faction BS. While the ammo savings are generally negligible, the TIME, especially when blapping multiple smaller targets from a distance, can add up rather significantly. Less on short range weapons, due to higher RoF, and much more noticeably on slower weapon systems - especially Arty. Does require bit more management, but if you're looking to maximize your time efficiency - it can also be done with Sentry drones on Rattle/Domi/etc...

The rail fit advantage over blaster is that rats closer they are the start orbit so hitting will become more difficult unless you use grappler. @@mikspurins1455 thanks for the advice. I am close to Gallentee's blockade runner so I think I will skill up and make plans. Sold 200 Mil today in Dodixie which always helps. Looking forward to following the channel and I appreciate you taking the time to respond so fast with your thoughts.
Detail explaination.... cool sharing....
you know how we do
Good advices, thank You.
Glad you enjoyed, friend
Got a Golem recently, best ship i have ever fly.
Maurader GANG GANG 🤝
Is there a way to hotswap the travel fit, without every damn thing being thrown into the station bay? its always brutal having to look for stuff after i arrive at my destination.
i hear you there! Ive been thinking of getting containers per my fave ships, organize that way!
Sure. Carry a mobile depot.
I use mine to do C5 Core Garrisons :)
At the end of the day what ship did you have the most fun with?
rn the Kronos all day 🚢
Any way you can create a video on trig hunting?
try this one! ruclips.net/video/6Jrl5f_hkcA/видео.html
Expanded cargoholds reduce your overall hp man i would haul separately and use bulkheads to beef up that Kronos but it's up to you
a good point, but I like to minimize trips here and there!
Is there any kind of interaction that makes it possible to escape from wormhole ganks if youre doing sites there? Heppened twice that out of nowhere i was scrammed and couldnt mjd or warp out after bastion and git just burnt out
There are warp stabilizers you can fit, but typically if you bring a mauradwr into wormhole space you are asking to get ganked
I almost always fly more slippery ships, like the Proteus or other T3 Cruisers
I got a Kronos myself cause dps. Looking to move to nullsec with brave want to do pve. We need a guide to nullsec ratting.
Kronos 🤝Gang 🤝
Nullsec ratting is on the list ;)
"Entire Kneecap (Ishtar)" lmao
good eye 😆
good to know. 👍✌🖖🥃
yayaya
I fly the Golem, yes I get hunted a lot, lost about 4 of them, I also am not a pro at the game
oh noooo, def work on flying safe!! or maybe move haha 😅
T3's for the win.
they are awesome
Just got a blaster fit Kronos.... Hello lvl 4's
YESSIR ENJOY
golem, with a torp fit.
love my rails, but golem is def a huge lad 👏
Rattle's are incredible, and comparable to a Marauder.
Marauder have more tank and more PVE application IMO. Cant go wrong with either!
Granted, not all missions are suited for Short-range weaponry, and a few are definitely easier/faster with a sniper fit.

A 425mm rail kronos i am rocking out of boredom.
1500dps at reliable 100km range, fully t2 fit and if you want you can even solo minor trig systems since range controll and mjd makes you unaproachable for trigs. And 1500dps is i think more than rattle especially at 100km instant application range plut the damn thing costs slightly above a bil and with all the level 4 missions i swear to god i never once even had to use armor repper.
The rail fit advantage over blaster is that rats closer they are the start orbit so hitting will become more difficult unless you use grappler. But at ranges 40++km they just straight up approach you and you delete them off the grid one by one. Did i mention i can still retain 800+dps at 200km range just in case?
Plus the major benefit of the fit is the price. The only blingy thing is the battery other than that the only reason why you would be ganked is to cause you some grief as sure shit it not for profit.
You say easy mode, but that's what Marauders are. You don't need to worry about where you're moving so much because you're mostly not and bonused for it. Also those bonused tractor beams put MTUs to shame.
Golem for solo L4 missions...
golem def a unit!
imho the best tip you can use to fly one of these ships is find a high sec island in low sec and mission out of there.. get away from gankers or you will lose your ship sooner or later
def love the high sec islands
