Definitely a co dominant trait. Look at the 'Pixelation' in the het the head isn't the only tell.next look at that bold stripe that gets even bolder with its super form. It reminds me of layering colors in photoshop sure the first layer is great, but with that 2nd overlay you have something even more defined. Kind of reminds me of pastel in the respect that there can be high or low expression, but definitely not a recessive gene and yes I could totally see someone not mind to breeding just paints to see what they could get rather than the super form since the 2 look vastly different. I'm just going to call it as it is; regardless beautiful gene just like red axanthic and I can see it going places.
Did you see the photo of the parents of the Paint Clowns? I couldn’t pick those out of a group of 25 normals - and I know a few things about ball pythons
I like the redstripe yellowbelly spotnose het paint the best. I like the pattern on the clown but not the colour. I think with colour it would look great

Up until today I never knew about the paint gene. Then today I get to see 2 videos about them. I really liked the male in this video. What about some darker genes in the paint. Thinking suma and black pastel or black head may make the paint Come out nicely.
paints don't really do it for me. they put me in the mind of blood pythons and I just think that they are the ugliest ever. then the colors are so blahh. a hard pass for me.
