According to recent reports and articles, the Rebels MC, the largest motorcycle club in Australia, are maintaining a near-total dominance over the streets of the tropical town of Cairns.
Cairns is the 5th most populus city in Queensland, located on the tropical north east coast of Far North Queensland.
With around 180 members in Queensland, the mighty Rebels MC stand as one of the most significant outlaw motorcycle clubs in the area. In Far North Queensland, their presence is accompanied by only a minor presence of the Odins Warriors and Bandidos MC.
Previously two other bikie clubs like the Vietnam Veterans and Hells Angels have been known to operate in the region but they all have either fled Cairns and moved to Sydney or Melburn or have converted to Rebels.
The Odin’s warriors were most effected when Three of their clubhouses, including the headquarters in Parramatta Park, Aumuller and Hartley streets were shut down by the authorities and various high rankers were arrested.

I was cage side for a show of Rebels strength in Cairns just before they had to take the colours off, 2013. Local kickboxer prospecting for them had an MMA fight with big table of rebels cage side, went around hugging everyone before getting in the cage and being tapped out in 10 seconds flat HA HA. The footage used in this clip is not from Cairns BTW, it's green as up there.

Carins have a population of 150K +. So 180+ members is crazy high. In Nz the rebels have staarted up stronger, and they go around in groups of 20+ men, picking fights with locals in small towns. Recently 3 guys got outnumbered and beat up by rebels, and video was posted on facebook by a member of public. With these gangs, people should be allowed to defend themselves against extortion and bullying. Most of the bikies in aussie and NZ are emotional with something to prove. It;s like they have BPD. I hear people say in places like USA, as long as you respect them (Hells Angles and bikie gangs) - they respect you. Will in Australia and NZ it is not like that at all. They will literally intimidate a grandma for no reason.

Rebels is just a stepping stone club, straight in...straight out club, rebels are often the most patched over club, and notice this, you never see other clubs patching over to the rebels unless its some shitty little local town club, but ive never heard of it, no hard core bike aspires to join the rebels. just saying .. not trying to bag them out, but as for all clubs when the lebbo or middle eastern skunks came in big in sydney 10 to 15 years ago the whole bikie scene has gone to shit, there not respected any more
💯 Rebels where once a respected club, they now have no leadership or muscle left anymore . No one is intimidated by this club. Entire rebel chapters are patching over to other clubs . As Sparta said they only strong when in areas with no hard core clubs around . Sad it went that way for them really, they were quite an impressive club up until recently

About ten years ago the Rebels held a run to Clontarf Beach in Early September they had a big BBQ they looked to be enjoying themselves and some sort of Police Tactical squad was there following them, I was there with my son in the playground but for less than ten minutes, if you know Clontarf you know what it is like on a bad day and this was a bad bad day, it was blowing an ice cold gale and even though the sun was out there was not another soul there, the police were all sitting in their cars and vans trying to stay warm, guess for the Rebels who were really well behaved it must have been a bit of a show, but they must have had their balls frozen by the end of the day as it was a freezing cold gale the worst day I have ever seen at Clontarf.

it was clear in the video with the case of Odins Warriors that these laws have impacted non criminals. However the worst is likely yet to come. Would be interesting to hear the police try and give stats to support a reduction in crime as it would seem highly unlikely.
Those laws effected us normal citizens more, can’t enter public places with face tattoos and can’t even ride in group of 4 or with friends without being pulled over and checked for gang tattoos. The gangs are still everywhere just not wearing their leathers so they’ve gone underground, while police use their new powers more on the public.. I think police just used it to get more power, just like during the pandemic

@brin57, Yes I remember that, his left lower forearm was shriveled up & he couldn't use it, He was riding pillion on the bike when the crash happened, I think that his name was Peter Johnson or it could've been Peterson, I'm not too sure of his surname but he was simply known around town as, Red, he sued the coppers over that crash & won & not long after that the Renegades MC started up in Townsville & Red was one of the original members, His left arm was left useless, he rode a Triumph for years & then had quite a few Harley Heritage Softails after that, because of the condition of his left arm & hand, he had his clutch rigged up on the righthand side of the handlebars, just in front of the front hand brake lever, so it must'be been quite a feat to always ride a big heavy bike one handed all his life, He could ride just as well as anybody else, the only thing I never saw him do on his bikes was a U turn but he was spot on with everything else, he used to do the clubs banking & was often seen walking through the mall with the money bag in his hand & with his mate, Bull, just a few steps behind him, sadly, Bull was killed in an accident when his bike was hit by a car one night on his was out to the clubhouse out at the farm, I was a volunteer Motorcycle instructor from mid 87 to late 99 with Qld Transport, when they had the Qld Governments Motorcycle training program, & I remember one time when Red bought one of his girlfriends out to learn to ride & We often chatted during some of the breaks between lessons, I still live in Townsville & I haven't seen him around for a few years now so I don't know if he's passed on or maybe he has just moved away, I've just turned 73 & he would have to be around about the same age as Me, give or take a couple of years.
