I bought the game after watching this run actually. This run is really amazing. Well, I'm not doing speedrun but this game is so fun to play despite the difficulty.
Amazing run. This guy runs through like what 2 - 3 whole levels with no armor on and I am over here dying to trash mobs in the first level for hours while leveling and gearing lol! Also the way he was able to fight the boss that you have to make him drop the water on himself so fast....that was such a pita for me, it took ages to wittle down that things health bar for me being a noob to the game. Great game and awesome runner!
nioh games are so incredible, glad people have a lot of respect for them. it was rough at the start since people instantly want to disregard these types of games and call them souls clones, but that was because of all the bad soul clone imitations that had come out over the years. i love how nioh is so fast pace and even when defending you are still doing something, the KI pulse system is pure genius.
Love this run and this game, finally watching it all again because I just beat the main game after 150 hours. Surprisingly, Yatsu No Kami was the hardest boss for me, with like 35 deaths and a month gap after getting fed up.
Nice to see the game being broken right from the start. Usually you have to suffer through the first playthrough, and then you break the game in endgame as revenge. Great game btw.
I abandoned this game a little less than halfway through--doing every side mission where the locations, enemies, and bosses are recycled really burnt me out. I'm tempted to get back into the game, but I may just focus on main missions. Great run so far (I only watched about half of it, I still don't want to be spoiled for last half of the game)
90% of nioh's playerbase will get crushed if they try this. And as a normal human being you will kill many enemies for exp and gear because you won't survive the boss at the end of the stage, heck even a normal yokai oneshots you with his katana. This man is a speedrunner, he knows when to run, dodge and how exactly to move. Also he executes the bosses perfectly. Your comment is invalid for all forms of soulslike games
Especially for higher difficulties that strategy wouldn't even work anymore. After beating the game once the bosses scale out of control real quick if you kill nothing else. You can still kill them with perfect execution, but instead of doing the normal 2-5% damage per attack, you do 0.1% and the fight takes ages if you are too low leveled. Also, this mechanic is honestly not that bad. Some areas have pretty long streaks between shrines. And having to kill the same enemy 20+ times just to get to the next shrine would seriously bog down the game for the normal players.
