@@rimtasvilnietis2991 At that point I'd argue, are you doing anything wrong? If some guys in China with minimal tools can do the same a global mega company and make a 1:1 replica for 10% of the price or less. It's kinda fair game.

@@eurekarx2048here’s the thing a rolex is not more valuable because of the manufacturer, it is more valuable because of what people are willing to pay for them. We don’t even need to talk about fakes, why is a Daytona more expensive than the Omega Speedmaster? While the Rolex is slightly better made than the Omega, it is not 10k dollars nicer… well it’s because rich people think that Hollywood is cooler than science. They will pay up to 17 million dollars for Paul Newmans Daytona, but only 250k for speedmaster, one flown to space. Which drives the point, for rich people today Rolex has always been cool, a status symbol. All their hero’s and cool dudes wore one. So they will pay more for them, to be one of them. Their money is stored in a semi-stable place, and they have a heirloom for generations. They will always have value, and it’s too popular to be forgotten like the pocket watch. When the fake comes out with a product, that is 99% the real one for 99% of the problem, it still doesn’t matter, it won’t hold its price, and it will be a regular item, not something that could be consider an investment on itself.
@@qwertpoiuy430 well you are not wrong, that's what makes the prices absurd, it's thorough perceive value and generational marketing. Make something exclusive or limited and you be able to sell at exorbitant prices
You actually miss the point entirely. Producers of fake/clone watches do not have the same quality controls in place, the staff are not qualified or experienced watch builders ,they do not use premium components and the materials used will be of the lowest quality to produce the biggest profit margins. All legitimate companies employ qualified experienced staff, they have strict quality controls in place and will use high quality components and materials , that is what you are paying for. I have bought cheap binoculars made in China unbranded, I also have a pair of branded made China high quality binoculars , the difference is highly noticeable.
Ignoring the fact that it's a replica, it's actually a good quality watch, presumably for a reasonable price. If they produced their own original designs with this level of quality, they could earn themselves a respectable reputation.
however, by producing these replicas, they are earning themselves a respectable amount of money. nobody would buy their original designs, because they don't have 'history' and 'prestige' and because they... aren't from central-western europe. people buy watches as status symbols, so that's what gets produced in this free-er market without artificially limited supply.
As long as the fake is sold as a replica for $1000 instead of as an original for $30.000, I think you’d be getting an amazing deal compared to the real Rolex
@HarryHewitt-lh8xx I have 3 Omegas, 2 speedmasters and a seamaster. I know they are real because I sell them on ebay and anything over 1500 has to be sent to ebays authenticator before it goes to the customer. Also the chronograph second hand on one of my speedys fell off and it cost me £600 to get it repaired by Omega. I only paid £1000 to buy the thing in the first place so i was not happy but they refurbished it and it now has a 2 year warrant. I will sell it for £2000. its a lot of watch for the money
@HarryHewitt-lh8xx Agreed. Show me where you can get decent used Omegas or Roli's for $2K, agent19? If anything used Roli's are more expensive than new, depending on the model.
The etched crown is meant to look right only when the crystal is perfectly in front of you, because it's laser etched on 3 different depths of the crystal. It's an anti-counterfeit measure as the fakes don't use 3d laser etching. So if the crown always looks right, it's acutally a bad thing and a huge tell.
Wow, we've actually entered the territory of "if it looks good from all angles then it's a fake". I get that it works as a security feature but at what point are we making the watch less attractive just to hinder counterfitters? Isn't that a little backwards? Wouldn't I rather have the fake then?
@@willfrank961 Well, it's not something that jumps out at you anyway. It's almost invisible unless one deliberately looks for it, so there's no adverse impact on the attractiveness of the watch.
Didn't know that, and I thought I was pretty up on my Rolexes.....now I'm going to be hunting down the teeeeeny crowns after work. I thought my Milgauss was perfectly shaped, but then again I only looked at it head on, never looked at my GMT or YachtMaster.
The reason the crown looks like this on the original is because of the viewing angle. Each dot that composes the crown is lasered at a different depth, so it looks good from the top but strange from the side. It is very hard to replicate this and the fake has all dots of the same depth.
This is exactly what I suspected. So Rolex is actually using a technique where the dots are burned inside the crystal, similar to how they do those 3D acrylic engravings. Except they are doing it in a crazy thin and much harder to burn material, which is insane. And it's lasered at different depths on purpose so that only 1 angle shows the correct crown (I'm guessing you have to look perpendicular to the crystal). That lasering machine must cost a fortune. The fake is probably just engraved on the surface. Rolex is in a position where it needs to employ anti-fakery proof marks similar to banknotes 😂
To be fair and accurate, the replica is literally matching the craftmanship, so it is worth 700, easily. From the movement to the brushed steel. The problem with watches, is turnover rate. A rolex is in no way shape or form worth a full $10k, it takes about 200-350$ to make one (estimated), you're paying for the name and exclusivity, which again, makes you a dumb dumb. All the materials on the replica, are the same. You're still in an exclusive club keep in mind, no one I know, even wears watches that much, let alone anything more than a couple hundred.
Why? It is still a fake and you would know it. It says more about you personally than anything else. You can pretend to be a rich person, but at the end of the day you still get to go home to your one bedroom apartment in your Civic. You don't get to join our club no matter how much you pretend.
On MSRP the rolex is not overpriced. you have materials, craftsmanship, brand recognition, history, durability, accuracy etc. as for grey market prices it's just economics. People want the product and there is a scarcity of it. Yes you can argue it's a fake scarcity and rolex could produce more watches but that doesn't matter. People want it and there's not enough offer so the price goes up like crazy.
@@VictorDude98 if history and brand recognition holds no value why don't just buy a casio? why is rolex one of the most sought after watch brands in the world? so you want the watch for the price of its production? lel. are you serious? also its not just functions and materials that make a watch priceworthy. if that was the case any tag heur chrono would be more valuable e.g than a omega diver. if that was the case a quartz watch would always be more valuable than a mechanical one.
@@VulgarRage when you can buy something for a 20th of the price that's only distinguishable from the original by an expert with a macro lens then IMHO it's not just overpriced it's taking the p*ss!! @@stevefox8605 sure. But the fakes have "value" because theres a brand created over 100 years ago that built recognition, history and perceived value in the eyes of the consumer. The fake market only exists because of the gens. The fakes take their value indirectly from the original brands. You have people willing to pay for a fake just to pretend they have the gen. That's how valuable brand recognition and history have. If people just wanted a better price worthy watch then they would just buy a seiko. and btw we are forgetting than a luxury watch if properly maintained will last you a life time and hold value. a fake will be gone after some time and always be worthless.
about the laser etched crown, i believe the laser etching uses the depth of the crystal, so not all “dots” are on the same horizontal plane... the fake looks like it uses a simple etching, which, would make this tell 8/8... all in all a fantastic video! It really shows how much work you put into this! Keep up the amazing work!
Yes this is correct. It's harder to replicate something that has been designed to be 'imperfect'. If the laser etched crown looks perfect then the watch, or at least the crystal, is probably a fake.
Yup, that's it. Rolex's etching is like a tiny version of those 3-D portraits etched inside crystals, the kind you can buy at kiosks in shopping malls.
Yup, on the original Rolex, the etched crown looks perfect when viewed perpendicular from above but from an angle the etched dots looks skewed due to the technique described above.
11:20 I wouldn't say the original's laser etched crown is poorer quality than the fake's - it's actually the opposite. The laser dots in the original crown are placed at different depths of the crystal, so the crown will look perfect when viewed directly from above, but appear "irregular" when viewed from an angle. The comparison at 11:20 actually demonstrates how this feature can be used to identify a fake!
Might be intentional, so they have something to market later. As far as I heard, it's the same with cameras, feature get added and removed to have something new every year.

I was a Rolex owner for 19 years - Submariner non-date 14060M. After the initial thrill wore off (about a year in) I went back to wearing the other watches in my collection (mainly Oris) with the Sub as mainly a special occasion/show off piece. That didn't make any sense as I bought it as a go anywhere, do anything tool watch. It took a while to sink in but I finally admitted the truth that I was more concerned with being a Rolex owner than a Rolex wearer. Finally I sold it and bought an Oris Diver 65 as I knew I would be wearing that thing far more often. Dumping the Rolex for something better looking was a truly liberating experience. It's great to be a watch lover again.
That was very well said! "more concerned with being a Rolex owner than a Rolex wearer" - being more concered with owning a status symbol rather than wearing a great handmade and mechanical masterpiece of a watch is a sad reality for many people. Thank you for sharing your wholesome story
I really wouldn’t want to be branded as a rich guy showing off his wealth, which really is what being a rolex owner is at the end of the day. I understand why people like watch, but the status thing, I don’t get at all.
I have 1 watch. It tells the time above and underwater to 50m. What do I need another one for? Cost £150 and it never misses a beat. Had it 10 years. Why the f%^k would I pay €30,000 for something that does exactly the same - unless I was brain dead. Its JUST A WATCH THAT TELLS TIME.
The laser crowns are meant to look at a perpendicular angle to see the crown shape, rather than a tilted angle. The original one also used a different laser depth for the crown execution which I think the forgers are unlikely to be able to master this technique yet.
But they don't cost as much as they do because they are $20k well made. For the most part you are paying for the name and when you know it's not real then it kinda loses the point.
You think Rolex care? Also the reason the Daytona is 30,000 is because of hype. It doesnt retail for that. Rolex are a luxury watch brand. If they start selling their watches for 3k than anyone can afford one (Anyone with a job in a 1st world country). Then its not luxury. Its a well known fact luxury brands purposely inflate their prices so poor people can't afford them.
I find it quite interesting that several aspects of the fake, as shown in this video do in fact look better than on the actual Rolex. Even the red writing "ROLEX" is more sharply defined and is therefore more precise appearing and easier to read from a few feet back, on the fake. Frankly I cannot afford either!
People need to understand that fake ones are good replicas, but that shoot the price up. If you want a fake one that is visible at the 1st look then price is affordable, otherwise good fake one it cost money. So, as we say in the US you can buy brand new T-shirt for $5, but you can buy as well for $300.
But the owner of those watches will not look just as good. If you want a watch, you can buy a lot for 700 Euro. Yes, it won't be luxury, the brand will be not as known, but it will be a genuine thing, not just a parody of the genuine.

I understood that the laser-etched crown in the crystal is multi-level on an authenticate Rolex. This shows the crown "perfectly" from straight-on and "broken" when viewed from the side because of purposeful parallax.
I totally agree. I own a panda and it is really hard to see the LEC on a straight up angle given the dial is white. However, if you study very closely using a 15x or 20x loupe, you will notice the LEC on the Daytona is infact different from the other Rolex in that the bottom egg-shape circle has double parallel line instead of single line hence will distort even more if not view dead straight from the top. To my surprised, so far no one or any watch RUclipsrs notices or even mention this.
I wonder how many of these differences get lost from manufacturers year to year. I mean Rolex process also changes so comparing a 2 authentic few years apart will likely show difference as well
If you can buy it for $1k, let's say the whole Walker buys it for $800, and that's very generous, and the maker would be making say 40% margin, then they're making around $320. So it costs them $480 to make it. There's no way your producing a watch in Switzerland for $480. Not a chance.

I loved this video and I'm excited to watch more. There is something confusing, however, about how you present the fake vs. the original. The moving camera is distracting. Plus, your angles from the fake vs. original are different from each other. You show the fake and then the original but it's hard to compare because the fake is no longer on the screen. I would much rather see still photographs framed and cropped exactly the same for both the fake vs. the original. Keep the fake vs. original side-by-side on the screen (like at 9:38) so we can see them next to each other. And on the photos use arrow to point to the areas you're talking about. Sharp, detailed photos are better and less distracting than these sometimes out of focus images you're showing here. Put the camera on a tripod and shoot a f16 for insanely detailed and clear shots. Just an idea. I hope you're not offended.
We need to stop criminals like Ziarex from selling mega-clone replica watches because selling mega-clone replicas with the same serial number as the original watch is illegal.
Jenni, the difference between the authentic and fake laser etched crowns in this comoarison is that the authentic etching places the dots that make up the crown at alternating depths in the crystal, which adds complexity and makes the crown look odd and sloppy when viewed at an angle other than "en face." The dots on the counterfeit look "cleaner" at an angle because they are all applied in the same plane/same depth, which tells you it is not genuine.
I was at a watch get together pre COVID, where a watchmaker had such an accurate replica, that he was able to show how it would accept actual Rolex movement parts without issue and that it was almost impossible to tell the difference between them.
I genuinely don't think this will ever be the case. There will always be a gap between the genuine watches and replicas due to the huge investment in tooling and skilled watchmakers Rolex have. You just can't replicate that when you're churning out replicas for a few hundred dollars a piece.
@@MarkMilotay good Rolex and Omega replicas have been able to accept genuine movements and parts for years, this isn't anything new. The point is, Rolex and Omega have made it so that these parts can only be sourced directly through them now, which has meant that they are now getting very difficult and expensive to source via any other means. So yes, you could buy a replica Sub for instance, and then buy a genuine movement for it, but you'd end up with a very very expensive replica that Rolex would take off you if it ever went in for a service. So what would be the point? OK so you don't go down the route of putting a genuine movement in, because it's too expensive. So you get a genuine dial, hands, stem, crown, sapphire. That's still a huge investment into a replica watch that anyone could tell was fake within 2 seconds as soon as the case back comes off. Again... What's the point?
Got a panda daytona from chrono select, and let me assure you, its spoton! The video didnt capture the overall craftsmanship. It truly replicates the authentic experience.
This entire thing really makes you wonder what the point of an ultra high end watch is. When quartz first came out, the high end watch makers embraced it since it was objectively better. But as the cost of making a quartz watch started to crash, everyone realized that this would put high end watch makers out of business. Companies like Rolex pointed out that even though their movements were old fashioned, they were also works of art that were built by skilled craftsmen. Now they can mass produce movements that are just as good as the hand built ones. How long will it be before they can mass produce a watch that is basically identical to the real one? Will that finally put companies like Rolex out of business?

@@senorigor9439 The laws of supply and demand simply don't apply to the rich, because they have so much money that there's no need to evaluate the tradeoff. Rolex is selling 2 million watches per year and I don't even know if that includes Tudor. There are so many people using cheap debt (due to low interest rates) to buy up Rolex watches as an investment or to scalp. From what I've heard, the Rolex crown on the crystal "looks" worse than the clone but its because Rolex made the marks at different depths in the crystal. Unlike the clone that just has it all at the same depth.
dude it's really not that hard, take five minutes to search up "fake Rolex" and you'll be met with plenty of examples of high-end replicas that are made in Switzerland etc. it's just that you're going to be shopping through a very shady and illegal website obviously
I have a fake and I tell people it’s fake. They’re more amazed at how perfect the fake is rather than disappointed that they’re not in the presence of a genuine Rolex 😂
I appreciate that some people are into luxury watches. I like watches but never enough to pay $30K for one. And I hate rip-off stuff as much as anyone, yet I found myself thinking “I wish she posted a link where I could buy the replica”…..
@@terrorsquadlith Who cares, buy what you like. Personally I would have a homage with a different brand like Pagani or Parnis. I want the look, but not the branding.
I believe the engraved crown looks "worse" on the real Rolex is because it's engraved at different levels in the crystal. The fake is all on the same level so it looks sharper.
No. Even wealthy people do this. Buying replicas to keep your genuine safe and sound at home has become quite popular actually. Altho a lot of those guys get scammed into buying a $5000 replica that's worse than the Chinese clones
FYI, the laser engraved on the original is supposed to be like that because the dots are lasered onto different layers of the saphire glass, and will only be aligned if looked at from above
Sure, no waiting list and $32k for a watch that retails for nearly half that. Shame on you Rolex for creating situations where your watches are only available in the secondary market where places like this rape you on the price. How does this happen? Tons of supply but only at outrageously inflated prices in the secondary market.
While Rolex is definitely partly to blame, I think the whole thing is now a self-fulfilling prophecy now. Secondary Dealers buyout all the stock (or their sources buy out all the stock), and they put for sale at inflated prices. That's why in Asia, there are actually a ton of stores that carry lots of Daytonas, but the list price is already up there.
In fact this proves : 1 given the quality and low price of those replicas this shows clearly that Rolex is not a great watchmaker. Rolex just admitted recently that scarcity was not a strategy but a production issue...may be Rolex could then go to see the clone makers and learn a bit of engineering from them... 2 that Rolex scarcity, purposeful or not, is basically pushing customers who would have probably bought the real one at the public price if it was available at the local AD and not through this opaque waiting list process, to buy a fake as the real one is anyway not available...
It does not prove anything, these genius guys doing replicas can build any watch. They do the same with Patek Philippe or Audemars Piguet. They focus on these brands because they are super desired, not because it's easy to copy
Not neceserily. Some very talented artist can copy a painting perfectly, but the original will remain the more valuable because of the age and history.
I watched this video with my wife and she loved the watch you are wearing. When I told her it was a Casio she said "oh, never mind then..." Now I can't convince her about how wrong she is to think that.
I would love to own a Rolex, and other respected brands, but right now I am wearing a $23 Casio dress watch I bought off of Amazon. I don't have to worry about it being fake, or being broken. That's the fun of Casio. They are good cheap beater watches that tell time for super low prices. Oh yea, google "rich people who wear casio watches" and you will have a good laugh.
Very informative and well done video Jenni!! Perfect example of why Rolex should start equipping their watches with a exhibition back. Only the Milgauss Submariner and Explorer lines should stay with a solid case back.
@@mattonthewater Rolex started using chromalight early 2000, before that they used superluminova & before that Luminova before that tritium, i am told?
I always thought that IF I want to spend ~$30k on a watch I would also buy the replica.... as a beeter, go anywhere, everyday wear and keep the original for special occasions :)
I had real and fake , it feels ok to wear a fake when you own a real one, wearing real ones is sort of hard work as you are constantly conscious not to bang it on something and or get killed for it. Knowing my luck I’ll probably get beaten up for my fake one!
So, if replica costs 1000 $ and original 30 000 $ and you can't tell which is which then original manufacturer is selling "OOORRRIGINAAALLL BRRRAAANNNDDDD🤪" to you for 29 000 $!!!!!!!
Ok, where do you get one? That Jenni missed to tell us, just the original for 30k we know, very expensive, but the marvelously done replica? Where, and how much? 1k?
A replica gets that close and costs less than $1,000. I can understand how Rolex would charge more, given the movement developments, the finer detail, etc. But wow. It really makes one question what that $20K plus price tag is for. I already questioned why one wold want a Daytona, given how many amazing chronographs there are on the market (e.g. Zenith El Primero). But something like this goes to show that making a gorgeous watch is not something that should cost an arm and a leg.
the 20k + price tag is for nothing literally nothing. you can't even say oh they are that expensive because they need to be handmade as you can get machines that make the parts much faster and much more accurate than humans. sure materials can be expensive but still not that expensive. it's literally expensive for the sake of expensive because idiots still buy the shit. same as any expensive brand
10:23 The laser engraved crown is done like that on purpose to preserve the integrity of the glass under pressure. If the dots are too close it can create weak spots in the glass. You can’t see it but each dot is apparently a different depth too.
I went in the comments to say that as well, but you beat me to it. All dots are at different heights, so when you look at it from an angle it will look wonky. A replicated crystal will never be engraved like that. (Fun fact, if your crystal is to be replaced during a service or a repair, there will even be an engraved «S» in the center of the crown.
That's the end of my watch hobby (which lasted for about three weeks). I would have no chance of spotting those minor details. I can see that the comments section is flooded with people advertising fake watch retailers. This market is ruined. It's kinda sad. Anyway, thanks for the video.
I thought the first tell with the clasp was extremely obvious and made the fake look stupid and cheap before I realised the fake was on the left and the original on the right and everything I thought looked bad about the fake was actually the original lmao
I have the Swiss version SeaDweller, exactly 1-1 replica. Even Rolex can't tell the difference, unless opened . £1300 You have the cheap $700 version, try the $1800 Swiss made version.
My understanding is the laser engraving on the authentic Rolex is done at different levels in the crystal. That's why it looks in even in certain angles. The fake is only done in one level on the underside so it looks more uniform.
Regarding the laser engraved crown in the sapphire crystal, I've read somewhere that Rolex engraves the dots on slightly different depths in the crystal, so that the crown only looks perfect from a direct top angle (hence that it looks cluttered from a more side viewed angle) Not sure if this is true but it would make sense
love this video thank you for the info. It is actually scary how perfect the copy is i think i would be more comfortable in buying a Fake and being told its a Fake than an original... crazy

While the Rolex is slightly better made than the Omega, it is not 10k dollars nicer… well it’s because rich people think that Hollywood is cooler than science.
Wow! That’s great info! 👍👍👍
Wow, we've actually entered the territory of "if it looks good from all angles then it's a fake". I get that it works as a security feature but at what point are we making the watch less attractive just to hinder counterfitters? Isn't that a little backwards? Wouldn't I rather have the fake then?

The reason the crown looks like this on the original is because of the viewing angle. Each dot that composes the crown is lasered at a different depth, so it looks good from the top but strange from the side. It is very hard to replicate this and the fake has all dots of the same depth.
Thanks for the info. makes sense...

I had that very thought, but it would encourage the fake watch producers.

That’s exactly right. It only looks perfect on the authentic when viewed absolutely straight on.
The irregular depth itching is done to maintain the strength of the crystal. Itching done on same depth would make it weaker.

Well, Jenni, when the Chinese learn about the free-sprung balance with its micro stella adjustment screws then Rolex should start to worry. The Chinese are able to clone the 6490 series of movements with a screw balance so it's only a matter of time. It rather brings home a point that when purchasing a Rolex a great portion goes to recover costs in marketing which is something Rolex is very good at.
Thank you for a great presentation.

I mean Rolex process also changes so comparing a 2 authentic few years apart will likely show difference as well
The production cost for both watches is probably the same.
The production cost of a Porsche 911 and an Audi A6 are probably the same.
If you can buy it for $1k, let's say the whole Walker buys it for $800, and that's very generous, and the maker would be making say 40% margin, then they're making around $320. So it costs them $480 to make it. There's no way your producing a watch in Switzerland for $480. Not a chance.
So true
@@littlejackalo5326 lol wtf are you even saying! obviously you do. The main expense on Rolex" side is innovation and marketing. The pure material cost is negligable, and the watch makers dont make 10k a month trust me.

Essentialy Jenni you could be having dinner with someone wearing the replica and you would never know, thus making the watch a success for the buyer because anyone who buys an expensive watch is showing it off along with one's enjoyment!
It’s partially Rolex’s fault bc they made impossible to find an authentic Daytona at AD.
Demand is insane for these watches, they could make 20 times more and still not have any in an AD window. At the end of the day, Rolex do make nearly a million watches a year. Unfortunately demand for them is a whole lot more than this figure.
Whether Rolex is to blame or not it doesn’t give anyone the right to infringe on their intellectual properties, copyrights and/or patents. If you want to build a watch then fine. But put your own name on it.
@@briansimer4311 totally agree. Rolex have spent 116 years growing their brand. If you want a cheaper watch, there are so many other great brands that you can choose from. Why wear a replica? Fake watch, fake person.

This is just deterring people from buying watches from big name brands. It's getting scarier day by day. I've also slightly fallen in love with the fake. I hate this.
It's really not. Demand for Rolex is the highest its ever been, hence why they are now impossible to get from AD's unless you've got serious history with them.

They are made in Switzerland. Forget the "1000 to make". Nothing is done for a thousand bucks there with exception maybe of buying groceries.
The watches are made by highly trained and skilled workers, paid 6'000-8'000$ per worker.
The steel mill refining the metals for Rolex will cost good $$$.
The building they are made in cost a fortune in running fees.
The CNC machines and quality control robots will cost another fortune and an army of automaticians.
There is a chairboard and many commanding employees, that will cost even more than the skilled employees I mentionned before.

Interesting. I noticed this on my Explorer and I thought it was odd, but that makes sense.

Seiko is already there - but taking advantage of the absurd pricing of Rolex, AP, and Omega watches. I bet they could sell a Grand Seiko for $900 and still turn a nifty profit.
Luxury goods are not about cost of manufacture. Rolex watches sell for ridiculous money not because the technology, craftsmanship or quality is worth it. They sell because it is a statement: I have enough money and enough connections to own one. It is your business card in the world of rich.
@@senorigor9439 The laws of supply and demand simply don't apply to the rich, because they have so much money that there's no need to evaluate the tradeoff.
You and I have to weigh the value (to us) of all the other things we could do with $80,000 before we plunk it down on a watch, whereas the rich don't have to give up anything: there's always another $80,000 (and another and another and another...) to buy all the other stuff they want.
Rolex is selling 2 million watches per year and I don't even know if that includes Tudor. There are so many people using cheap debt (due to low interest rates) to buy up Rolex watches as an investment or to scalp. Once rates go higher and a recession hits, demand will evaporate and the millions of Rolex watches that are selling will start to pile up at dealers across the world. The price is going to crash just like with stocks, crypto and other speculative assets. It's just a matter of time.
@@LigerSupremacy Yep: using cheap money to keep the market (and the value of their inventory) propped up.
In fact this proves :
1 given the quality and low price of those replicas this shows clearly that Rolex is not a great watchmaker.

10:23 The laser engraved crown is done like that on purpose to preserve the integrity of the glass under pressure. If the dots are too close it can create weak spots in the glass. You can’t see it but each dot is apparently a different depth too.

My understanding is the laser engraving on the authentic Rolex is done at different levels in the crystal. That's why it looks in even in certain angles. The fake is only done in one level on the underside so it looks more uniform.
Regarding the laser engraved crown in the sapphire crystal, I've read somewhere that Rolex engraves the dots on slightly different depths in the crystal, so that the crown only looks perfect from a direct top angle (hence that it looks cluttered from a more side viewed angle)

@@wengjai doesn’t mean they spot all the flaws in their fake. They’ve had the original for years
love this video thank you for the info. It is actually scary how perfect the copy is i think i would be more comfortable in buying a Fake and being told its a Fake than an original... crazy
The Reason Rolexs Holographic crown engraved in the glass is Random is so the fakers can't fake it. Each "Dot" is placed on purpose at random, while the fake is in order all the time, and that my learned friend is the quickest way to tell a fake. Love your efforts and segments, keep up the good work.
😋 Watch them fix that in the next clone production line... 😁
You just told them the secret to the counterfeit makers gg
That makes sense. I heard that those dots postioning works like a QR code and you’ll get the serial number when using a Rolex code reader.
This is absolute nonsense. It's not even called a holographic crown it's just a laser etched crown (LEC), and it's really not the quickest or best way to spot a fake. Stop giving advice when you clearly haven't you a clue what you're talking about.
@@cerigriffiths6380 "Holographic" used cause I didn't know what to call it. Regardless what you wanna call it, it's still sound advise and also a well mannered explanation unlike your rude reply, GTFOH.
That's why I'd rather save money and get a Seiko "Daytona", Bulova Lunar Pilot or other excellent homage watch. Not only can you get multiple watches for the money, but you don't risk blowing a fortune on a fake.
They both tell the same time, one just feeds your ego
A convincing fake like this one will get you jacked up and robbed the same as a real one. People forget about that. Don't get me started about criminals in our society.
So true. Couldn't have put it any better.
@@scdevon That's why the Glock is real even if the Rolex is fake.
One has constantly increasing resell value, the other is a piece of shit with 0 resell value.
@@scdevon That and the insurance requirements make it all a bit of a chore. A very stressful chore
