He who fights and runs away, may live to fight another day. All carnivores understand this concept better than most humans. Just because they need to hunt other animals for food, direct confrontation is last thing on their mind, as they know all too well that serious injury will inhibit their ability to hunt. And we all know that the objective for all creatures first and foremost is to survive. Generally only a desperate or already injured carnivore would take unnecessary risks.

@@mooblink4ever899 yh, but gaurs are a primary food source. already biologists have documented adult gaur falling prey to tigers. although yes, a gaur can kill a tiger
I've observed this behavior between tigers and a gaur in Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh, India in 2014. A single gaur approached at least two tigers at a water hole and the nearest-to-the-gaur tiger rather lazily trotted away, looking back over its shoulder during the retreat. The gaur persisted advancing aggressively in the big cats' direction and both tigers unhurriedly retreated into the tall grass adjacent to the water hole and could not be seen. The last I saw of this scenario on the day it occurred was the gaur looking boldly into the grass, no doubt trying to see where the tigers had gone. We returned to this water hole the next day to find these tigers feasting on a gaur kill. Don't know if it was the same gaur we had seen the evening before. But the result does illustrate that the tigers can certainly kill the gaurs. And, of course, very large, healthy gaurs (which have an all-muscle appearance and can weigh as much as 3,000 pounds each) have been known to kill a tiger with their horns and just plain brute force. The behavior I see here in this video seems reminiscent of the 2014 Kanha experience. The tiger trots away from the gaur and is not especially intimidated by it (not how quickly the tiger returns to drinking water in this video). I am guessing that this is the general reaction of tigers to gaurs. The general tiger behavior in a gaur confrontation can perhaps be summarized as follows: the tiger retreats from this potential food source, the gaur, when it is either not hungry or assesses that a gaur kill attempt is disadvantageous (and perhaps too dangerous) at this time.
Bruh even elephants fear gaurs Also lions, tigers and other predators don’t stand a chance against these beastly muscular tanks they just have to run for their life from the gaur If provoked there is not even running for life from these beasts!
@Sean Simmons it is, a tiger to be able to take down that thing should be approaching 600lbs. the tiger killed a gaur like that the day before, so yeah, that's my estimate for the size of the tiger. although i could be wrong
I've seen lions run from buffalos and lions when hungry will hunt and kill those same buffalos, likewise with tigers, when they are ready to hunt, they're not running away, but towards.
you are either ignorant or just completely uninformed! You know that there are more lions world wide than tigers. On top of the fact that lions exist in more continents than tigers. that tiger was still a pussy for running away. meanwhile a female lion was drinking water from a large puddle full of nile crocs without being intiminated. Lions are generally way more aggressive and braver than tigers
@@dabomand9827 Lions don't 'exist' in multiple continents but they existed. If you are counting Asia due to a few hundred left in Gir sanctuary of India (my country by the way) that's hardly a decent representation for the largest continent on earth. Also Indian lions were on the brink of extinction which were turned around after much external protection and intervention from humans. They are real delicate darlings. This lion who once roamed in entire Asia, Europe and Africa to be now restricted to Africa is an indicator that they aren't such a successful species after all. If you consider loss of habitat, tigers will defeat lions hands down. Tigers' loss of continent = 0 (All along Asia has been their home turf and so is it now) Lions' loss of continent : 2 ( Europe, Asia notwithstanding those few hundred Indian lions of Gujarat with lot of VIP treatment) If you talk of coexistence with big reptiles as an indication of their strength, well tiger territory is teeming with Crocs. Your lion drinks water from a river full of crocs. There are a few well documented cases of Tigers killing crocs (ruclips.net/video/J-bZc_bLVtk/видео.html) but a male lion with back up couldn't even make the croc budge forget about killing it single handedly. ruclips.net/video/1hwkxJOl1PY/видео.html . If you consider per head hunt success ratio tigers, leopards and jaguars will clock a higher score than lions. But I do love lions too. I really want both species to thrive. Just stating facts.
Remember one thing whenever there is a combat fight between a tiger and a lion , tiger is always a universal winner. ruclips.net/video/lSqLgk6plG0/видео.html
@@kuldeepgupta1416 Well you can't say 'universal' . Tigers have been defeated by Lions too. Also the video ends by crowning the lion as champ. What an anti climax
Unlike Lion, tiger hunt alone. This tiger probably was not hungry but thirsty only. This Buffalo was very brave and protecting its territory. As long as the Buffalo didn’t face his back towards the tiger, there was no way the tiger could attack its neck.
Lions hunt alone or in groups. Either way they are better hunters than tigers. A lone Lion has a success rate of 15% and a group 30% whereas a tiger is only successful 5% of the time.
Tiger fans have some serious ego issues 😁....they compare lion to tiger , they praise tiger for chasing away weak animals , they again appreciate tigers for running away from gaur 😒 PS.....both need to be conserved 💙

@LeopardFuckupLionesses s the buffaloes, gaurs and rhinos are probably too weak to defend themselves from attacks. Otherwise, tigers would normally not attempt to kill such animals given their size and speed advantage plus they are protected by large horns and tigers hunt alone without relying on each other unlike lions who hunt in groups
A video shows a Lion taking on around 100 wild buffaloes and the tussle went on for a couple of minutes. A Tiger despite being heavier and more ferocious looking doesn't have the fearlessness of a Lion.
No wild animal kills wantonly without purpose and in excess of its needs.. in this case the tiger is fully satiated and needs only to drink water. Hence it moved away from the approaching gaur to avoid conflict. The gaur too having shown off to the admiring female just turns it's back and ignores the tiger. Everyone is happy and content...the scene is one of peace and Co existence. Is there a lesson for us humans in this ??
It's human fairy tale story that tiger or lion being the king of the jungles. The poor animals had to hunt for food. They generally prefer babies, injured or old animals. Lion getting tossed in the air or killed by loner male adult Buffalo is common thing. Generally lions pride consisting of many members able to take a buffalo down. Tigers are lone hunters so avoid injuries as injury can make them incapable for hunting and lead to starvation and death. So they run away from unnecessary fights. Anyway they hunt for food only and not for entertainment. Tiger and lions are both endangered species and require protection from consumerist humans.
wanda, It is true to a certain extent that big cats hunt for food. But it is not even close to the truth that they will not kill when they are full. Try walking into a lion pride while they are resting. Lions mauled many people in Africa for nothing every year. Tigers killed many more in the tiger-infested jungles. They even broke into huts or wooden houses to snatch people. We do understand that human population is growing so fast and is intruding their habitats and therefore being attacked. But to say they will not kill when they have a full stomach is completely BS.
Ben TheKeeshond that's the point I was making that they are not human fairytale concept of 'king of jungle' etc. but simple animals and require their space. Human consumerism is beastly thing and required to be reduced or whole ecosystem will collapse and millions will die because of water and food scarcity dur to global warming. Buffaloes wander on plains by hundreds of thousands and only nature control their population by diseases etc and not by lions killings ,same is with human population. Tiger and lions kill just few hundred. Great number of humans get killed by their own things such as wars , accidents , disesses etc. Anyway big cats are endangered species and on the verge of extinction. Require protection from human consumerism as jungles are reducing.
wanda nevada, Agree! I am no politicians or philosophers. But I really do believe that overpopulation is the root of most problems. Unfortunately, our economic models from most countries are closely related to a large population. India celebrated when its population went over a billion. Russia is considered to be weakening because of a shrinking population. If our earth is a cake, would it be better to be shared by 1 billion people or 10 billion? Obviously, our earth is not a cake, we can bake another cake but we cannot create another earth.
wanda nevada lion's do hunt alone too and they can take down a healthy buffalo alone. Lion's lives like a king. They go to war they conquered. Lion's are killing machines fighter's. Tiger's are more stealth agile and hunter's by surprise more like ninjas. And yeah I like both animals. And i hate people who want to make this 2 animasl figth each other. They live in different environments. But lets be real lion's hunt more prey and bigger than tiger's.
Although to be honest this tiger was only interested to drink. Healthy Gaur bulls know they have the advantage in frontal confrontation. Tigers hunt only what is safe. They do not make frontal attacks unless it is very safe there are mainly rear and side attackers.
Tigers would do like most animals in same situation, if they protect cubs, are trapped or fight for their life they wound fight bravely. But they would not face danger willingly like lions.

If i know something about animals,is that they drink water when they're well fed.And that tiger just can't stand away from the pool....
@A A the description said it literally just killed one the same size as that , and had enough food for a week . Maybe you don't believe the description but I do.

@@mooblink4ever899 yh, but gaurs are a primary food source. already biologists have documented adult gaur falling prey to tigers. although yes, a gaur can kill a tiger
Tiger- say, Thank to god that im not hungry right now.
Nah the Tiger say : Dude i just wanna eat why those humans filming me at least give me some credit😁
Nice observation....and thanks for sharing your experience
Yep,no matter what day n what size, the laws of Predator prey don't change, predator always ends up eating its prey.

Also lions, tigers and other predators don’t stand a chance against these beastly muscular tanks they just have to run for their life from the gaur
If provoked there is not even running for life from these beasts!
Nah the tiger just wanted to live longer that's why he run like a bitch
Look at the size of the gaur and say that again please. Don't be a fanboy, just accept the truth that nature is circumstantial.

Tiger to Wild buffalo: I have done my meal just now you come meet me tomorrow.
I'm sure that gaur would had ate that tiger for breakfast but the tiger saw that coming and shit himself 😆

I've seen lions run from buffalos and lions when hungry will hunt and kill those same buffalos, likewise with tigers, when they are ready to hunt, they're not running away, but towards.
They only hunt lone animals, that too weaker ones.
A healthy adult buffalo or gaur can't be hunted by them unless in pride like lions.

Tigers are tactical animals that is why they still exist in Asia where as lions have become almost extinct.
you are either ignorant or just completely uninformed!
Tigers' loss of continent = 0 (All along Asia has been their home turf and so is it now)
Lions' loss of continent : 2 ( Europe, Asia notwithstanding those few hundred Indian lions of Gujarat with lot of VIP treatment)
If you talk of coexistence with big reptiles as an indication of their strength, well tiger territory is teeming with Crocs.

Tiger is like bro I'm just trying to drink some water.
Unlike Lion, tiger hunt alone. This tiger probably was not hungry but thirsty only. This Buffalo was very brave and protecting its territory. As long as the Buffalo didn’t face his back towards the tiger, there was no way the tiger could attack its neck.
Lion does hunt alone you idiot goofball
Lions hunt alone or in groups. Either way they are better hunters than tigers. A lone Lion has a success rate of 15% and a group 30% whereas a tiger is only successful 5% of the time.
Good job👍🏻

सिंगल टाइगर ,कभी नहीं जीत पाएगा n gaur se n hi wet buffaloes and n hi lion
@LeopardFuckupLionesses s the buffaloes, gaurs and rhinos are probably too weak to defend themselves from attacks. Otherwise, tigers would normally not attempt to kill such animals given their size and speed advantage plus they are protected by large horns and tigers hunt alone without relying on each other unlike lions who hunt in groups
Tiger : I am full , stay away I'll meet you later...!
Tigers usually hunt buffalo, but if a buffalo gets its horns out it could give the tiger a run for its money
Opossumguy World Gaur is not a buffalo

Humans kill for pleasure.Animals kill for a need.
Only the biggest male tigers can kill a gaur that too female.
No tiger can kill an adult male gaut
It's human fairy tale story that tiger or lion being the king of the jungles. The poor animals had to hunt for food. They generally prefer babies, injured or old animals. Lion getting tossed in the air or killed by loner male adult Buffalo is common thing. Generally lions pride consisting of many members able to take a buffalo down. Tigers are lone hunters so avoid injuries as injury can make them incapable for hunting and lead to starvation and death. So they run away from unnecessary fights. Anyway they hunt for food only and not for entertainment. Tiger and lions are both endangered species and require protection from consumerist humans.
wanda,
It is true to a certain extent that big cats hunt for food.
Require protection from human consumerism as jungles are reducing.
wanda nevada,
Agree!
Ben TheKeeshond they would attack because either your a threat of there spooked
wanda nevada lion's do hunt alone too and they can take down a healthy buffalo alone.
How big is Gaur compared to Cape Buffalo?
Although to be honest this tiger was only interested to drink. Healthy Gaur bulls know they have the advantage in frontal confrontation. Tigers hunt only what is safe. They do not make frontal attacks unless it is very safe there are mainly rear and side attackers.
Ross Wind and less courageous they easily give up, lion on the other hand will usually put up a good fight ruclips.net/video/GuTf3FhZHWY/видео.html
Thanks for the links did you see fearless lioness did a frontal attack. Tigers don't do this willingly like lions do.
Ross Wind : True, but Tigers are still capable fighters.
Tigers would do like most animals in same situation, if they protect cubs, are trapped or fight for their life they wound fight bravely. But they would not face danger willingly like lions.
Ross Wind : True.
