I believe they would show games, not the whole game but a portion of game film that they would edit over. For example...just as you see D. Rose attacking the defense in these highlights, cartoon network would edit in special effects like after images, flamboyant colors and sounds on "highlight plays". It was entertaining to watch but lasted for a month or two, if that.

    D-Rose's body control, hang time, finishing ability, and touch while in air was the best I've seen seen Jordan. There were times when I watched him where I had this feeling of deja vu and pure excitement, as though I was watching a mini Mike driving to the rim. This man was dominating the league at while he was still being a good three years away from his prime. Watching these highlights is so bitter sweet. He really had the chance to bring glory to Chicago and possibly wind up as the 2nd greatest point guard ever had things worked out the right way. He was redefining the position right before our eyes and then it was all taken away as quickly as he had ascended. He and Jimmy Butler would have made up one of the greatest backcourts ever and put the Bulls in contention year after year.

    Being a Bulls fan in Chicago at this time was special. It was nothing like seeing one of your own out there balling for the Bulls. That's every little hooper's dream to play in the NBA for their hometown team. I just remember watching the Bulls games on WGN at night and then going to school the next day to talk hoops with my homies in 4th period. Begging my mom to get me Derrick Rose's shoes and the ankle braces so I could ball like my favorite player and stunt at the open gym lmao. This was also around the time Jabari Parker was in HS and he was the next big thing out the city, top player in the country and it just so happened that he went to SImeon too.

      The season wade averaged more pts, reb, stl, blck, fg% despite playing behind Lebron and being much older? In my opinion, it was the least impressive mvp season, and only gifted to him to add some spice to the eastern conference race. Don’t ignore the fact the bulls were winning without rose, making the playoffs still, even when he refused to return despite being medically cleared. Imagine being an mvp and watching your team battle in the playoffs, you’re medically cleared, but refuse to play.

    Heart of a Champion whether he gets one or not. He proved that with his comeback.
    Even after all the injuries he's been through + the natural effects of the undefeated Father Time, this man is still capable of bursts that very few players could pull off. A clear sign of athleticism that could be considered "generational" in rarity ala Vince and LeBron, but w/ Rose it's a different type - a more compact, shifty and and horizontal one. Not sure I've ever seen someone move right to left as quick as Rose could.
    His tearful reaction to the 50+ point game last year got me. Dare any NBA diehard to watch that and not get a bit misty. That's what we want from our star players, not lackadaisical Wiggins types who just seem happy to be there.

    Derrick Rose is unlike any other player I’ve seen in the NBA. People used to compare him to Westbrook because they were both scoring pgs, but Rose is just so much more graceful. He’s got amazing control when he’s in the air and he’s incredibly creative with his finishes. He did things that straight up defied physics

    • @lotuslife3239
      @lotuslife3239 2 года назад +2

      You have to give Westbrook the benefit of the doubt he only got to 6'3 his senior year of high school while Rose had a few more years to develop his skills at that height. Russ was raw asf and because of that he took on a more defensive role in college and early on OKC with KD. While Rose definitely focused on his craft more and you could tell he did, Russ took care of his body a lot better and his longevity is unmatched compared to similar players. Why I give him the edge as most athletic pg ever. While I do believe a healthy Rose would have still been better than any version of Russ offensively, he didnt have the motor Russ did, and arguably had more complete teams during his run.

    • @JoshDennyAltAccount
      @JoshDennyAltAccount 2 года назад +1

      @@lotuslife3239 wow really insightful comment, I appreciate that. I didn’t know that much about westbrooks history so that makes a lot of sense actually. Although I do disagree about the taking care of his body aspect, rose took care of his body he was just asked to do a lot and with the way he was playing his body couldn’t sustain it. Russell has had injuries too but not to the extent that rose had and I feel like that’s a lot more to do with luck than actually taking care of one’s body. But again who knows, we don’t know how these guys are off the camera, you could be right. As far as who had more complete teams I completely disagree. Russ had harden and KD and serge. Maybe you could make the argument that Rose had deeper teams because of bench mob and what not but starting five is no comparison. It’s been a star driven league for a while and most people probably can’t name a single player rose has played with when the same can’t be said about westbrook

    • @lotuslife3239
      @lotuslife3239 2 года назад +1

      @@JoshDennyAltAccount ur right he had no other star with him other than Noah on defense and rookie Butler, but the sheer amount of wing players they had for that stretch was insane. I do remember Boozer, Brewer, Hamilton, Gibson, and Korver to name a few. while OKC decided on 2 starting forwards Serge and Adams eventually, they should have gotten more wings like the Warriors/Bulls. And tbh what OKC had was a great team, but they definitely needed a 2 guard like a Danny Green for the longest time when KD was there, and they most likely would have won if Andre Roberson could hit open 3s cause they needed him out there to guard Klay. KD deserves blame for a lot of that too, he was jumping out of the way of Lebron layups at that time. Both tremendous careers I just wish one of them could win finally

    This version of Derrick Rose trully had an insane combination of skill and atlethic ability. Everything came together. First,I would say he had the quickest first step in the history of basketball. Just that pure atlethic ability where he just explodes to the rim. But once he got to the rim,that's where his athletic ability continues to show. He was not only able to explode to the rim,he also had that neccesary agility that made him absolutly unstopable. And if that wasn't enough,he also had the skill. He understood angles,how to get around defenders and a very very soft touch around the rim. He could explode to the rim,jump aggresivly towards the rim and still somehow lay that ball so softly. Shame...trully shame what happend eventually. HOF in my eyes.

That bulls team was sorry when you actually go back and look at the roster. His 2nd option was Dang. Where tf is dang at now? His 3rd/4th option was Noah and Boozer.. And he carried them to the conference finals but unfortunately he ran into prime Miami Heat. And he was giving them run for their money all by himself. Til this day I never seen anyone display his level of skill mixed with athleticism. Ppl used to compare Russell Westbrook style of play because after rose got injured Westbrook started to become popular for his aggressiveness attacking the rim, but still he didn’t have the handles or shooting abilities like Rose. Rose was quicker, but Westbrook at his peak was bigger, stronger and more explosive.
      Rose had better body control, change of direction and could accelerate/decelerate on a dime.
      I don't know about him being better than Wade as Wade was a much better defender in his prime and was just as athletic.
      There is a reason they called Wade, Flash! Remember Wade's prime years were riddled with injuries just like Rose.
      So he lost a lot quickness and explosiveness. We missed out on at least 3 years of prime Wade because of injuries.

    The game against indiana pacers where he dropped 42 at pacers home. I will never forget that game. The pacers use to always give the bulls trouble with there defense. Bulls Wheres down by alot that game too. The reason why this is my favorite game of Derrick rose career is because he was doing it all on his own bringing his team back. All the moves he did and the speed and aggressiveness he was playing with reminded me of westbrooks 110% effort he plays with. Rose was getting bucket after bucket anytime he wanted too, it was very rare to see rose play like that too at 110% but if u watch that 42 point game vs Indiana , They put every defender in front of him and not one could stop him. The recklessnesses and selfishness rose played with that game helped brought Chicago back in the game. Rose was only 22 that year and people call this his prime his peak like seriously lol. The guy never reached his true potential we got robbed of his true prime cause of injuries.
