They could have done a whole series with just Alan and Michael. Want a brilliant character, and slightly wasted by just, well, not exactly walk-on parts, but limited role?
I feel like even a human might die of nicotine poisoning if they ate two hundred cigarettes in one go, let alone a little monkey. So there might be a silver lining here, in that it got accidentally given a relatively merciful death.
Gold. Can't make up me mind whether that's a Gatesheed accent or not, but slightly disappointed he didn't say tabs instead of fags. Hoy is a great word.
@@RoskinGreenrake Heave derives from the Dutch "Heffen" which is pretty similar. Hoy is pronounced pretty identically to Gooi, except the English doesn't roughen that first sound into the guttural

"Suicide is the cowards way out'" -Seems that most types of people who have gotten through natural selection are either stubborn hard-headed thickos or meek cowards (who avoid confrontations and quietly get by). In some cultures suicide is seen as heroic as you take your life into your own hands and shun the usual convention (the reason behind which is often to just discourage criminals from thinking that they don't have to pay back debts etc.) and maintain clarity of thought in a difficult situation avoiding naivety. For some people it involves a fight for the concept of mercy and distancing themselves further from immorality and possibly even greed for more life even if the part that is left is rotten. Some could even maintain hope as they ready themselves for a new fight in an afterlife. And I expect some do it tragically needlessly as being so hung up on it as a solution that they do it just in case assuming they might not get the chance to do it as planned later. Anyway w/e guys. Real American Freedom!!!
Fine I'll add some counter logic, I for example had minor surgery, if I definitely had to have had it and anaeasthic was not available, I probs would've thought of suicide, but the fact was that after the disruption everything healed 100! 100 percent and pretty quickly too and I already had so much life and learning since then. Pain is a bitch but the body is damn hard to do away with, it is strong in that way and you keep going and if you are forced to a live a new worser life, that life can it's own joys.
The thing is with depression is that it's just a chemical reaction..it's a bully and a manipulator and a liar. But to try and encourage it is the ultimate cowardice. Mostly depression can be cured through good diet and health (have your dentist do a 3d scan for bone infections before you take antidepressants) ✌️easy fix for the majority. Reactionary depression can lead to temporary lapses in healthcare, the bodies reaction to minor infections is to stop you moving around and pushing bacteria around the bloodstream. Depression is how it accomplishes this. But it's at that point you need to be properly cared for by your social group. Modern society doesn't really allow for this. Commonly infections of the gums and roots of teeth can go unnoticed, and this can cause severe long-term depression as it's a high risk area. Depression is a physical reaction that leads to false thoughts. It goes unchecked in most medical scenarios. But wow, what a vile thing to encourage it. Nasty little thing.
Reminds me of a gruesome video of a US marine in Afghanistan throw a puppy off a cliff and cackle with his mates as it falls & screams to its death I think it was on Liveleak.
Michael steals every scene as usual.
His Geordie accent is amazing.
_Yer daft racist_
And then he spies this cookbook, right? And he says "that would be no use to me".
Fjords huh, reminds me of the old ways of jumping of a cliff..
I know I he-I he-I heard him.
He's crackers man
Such a funny line
"You threw a monkey in the sea?"
- Klaus Kinski's friends after he got back from the Amazon.
"when I see you all depressed and that" - lol!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kind of ironic given that Michael actually ended up hoying himself in the sea.
He's not from Hartlepool
Michael is the greatest character ever

I just grabbed the monkey and hoyed it in the sea.
It bounced off a rock.
Ohh, cook a cat.
You think we could bring back that word or spread it further. He hoyed it over the wall..
That's some quality suicide humour.
A friend and I watched this scene while stoned one night. I still think it's the hardest I've ever laughed in my entire life

And then I'll just smash into the sea in a big ball of flame
1:00. Classic.
Disappointed they couldn't get Hartlepool in the script somewhere 😂 😂

He said fags for the benefit of the American audience.

"Hoy" from the Dutch "Gooi" (the G is a guttural that English doesn't have) meaning "throw"

BBC does it for animal documentary. Stage ducks on a cliff and film their fall. Easy money.
