Your reward for your hard work was incredible. Great photos all around. The flight was awesome. My DJI action camera blew over last year and shattered the rear screen. I understand the sick feeling. But their care package is great and my new camera was waiting for me when I returned home. I was also pleasantly surprised by your buzzard. In the States, we call turkey vultures "buzzards" and they are less than picturesque. Yours resembles our hawks, and they are marvelous. Thanks for sharing.
Glad your camera was covered, it was a bit of a faff having to send it back to China for inspection, but they sent me a new replacement which was great! The Buzzards really are a beautiful bird, and we are lucky to live in an area where there are quite a few of them 😊
My gosh, while I appreciate the photography content. Just watching your dog’s tail wagging in the beginning made me really happy. That dog is just so happy to be with you! She may be a fidgety photo partner, but she makes me miss my dog! Hope that you take her along on scouting trips if not more photo adventures!
She just loves being out and about ❤️ she does come scouting with me and I will have to come up with Skylar friendly videos I can make so she's still included in the filming 🤣 whenever I pick up my camera bag she gets so excited 🥰
Great captures and video Jo. Hopefully you had the 360 care for your camera! You'll love the 200-600 when you eventually get it! Thats what I use on my channel it's a great piece of kit for sure.
Shame about the broken camera! Not sure if your camera has the same feature but on my a6400 I have a zoom-in feature on the photo playback to check close up focus! 👌
That was not ideal, but another thing I can add to my list of things I have learnt 😂😂 The A7iv does have that, but I find it is still not always clear, unless you have a frame filler image
"Incredibly optimistic" bringing a dog to a wildlife shooting is a strong understatement 😉 On the A7iv, you can zoom in the recorded pictures using the AF-ON button and further with the back wheel or same button. The EVF is good enough to assess sharpness at full zoom. I think you really need the 200 600 for wildlife. You can add a tripod and denoiser software. I got the lens recently and I'm training to get sharp pictures at 1/4000 handheld.
Hey Jo, yes, I'd be kicking myself too regarding the camera, but all was not lost, sometimes nature can surprise you !!! Any chance you could put the bird name along with the exposure details when you show the stills, I'm from the other side of the world (diagonally opposite) and be nice to know the names of some of these little guys !!! Safe travels ! 🤠😎
I was so annoyed at myself! But thankfully the care cover I got covered it and I got a replacement sent 👍 I shall try and add the bird names in future 👍
Sorry to hear about your camera I too had a mishap while shooting puffin a gannets, my lens hood was giving me bother by not tightening correctly an it fell of a rolled over cliff. £800 for a new one
😮 Oh no!!! Luckily the cover came though, and I got a replacement sent to me, I do have all my gear insured as well though, just in case, I have had to claim a couple of times and it was well worth it.
haha yes, learnt the hard way that I should have used a better tripod rather than go for the 'lighter' option there, only going to make that mistake once!
I broke an om d em 5 3 like that fell off a tripod with a 600mm adapted zuiko lens. The reason I use that lens of mft is because of my dog and kids haha 1200mm is about reach that will let you take pictures with all the noisy creatures around you.
@@JoHeard Ah is just an accident. Don't blame yourself for it. Like you can't control the wind or when a tripod falls xD But maybe my lesson learned was "no cheap tripods"

Such beauty! You’re incredible my friend!
Thank you 😊
Well done Jo for persevering, worth the wait in the end and some great images. 👍
Thanks Ian 😊 really happy with my images
hang in there, persistence will pay off, remember to continue to learn from your outtings, good luck
Thank you 😁
Wonderful scenery Jo and Buzzards too awesome 👍
Thank you! I am very happy with the images and sighting that I got 😊

Brilliant video Jo. Well done on your photos of the Buzzard 🦅. Hope you can get the 360 camera repaired or replaced 👍
So happy with how they came out, especially as it was a very testing day 😂😂 The care cover I got came though, and I have got a replacement X3 🎉🎉
cool a happy ending, I drop my shoulder bag onto the feet of my mini stand when using my X3 like that, not always but if there is a breeze... tc :)
That's a good idea!

Yes I did! Thankfully, they have replaced it for me 😊 Looking forward to getting my hands on the 200-600, even if it is incredibly heavy!
Worth the wait 👍
Thank you 😊
Hi, just wondering where you got your camo jacket from?
Its this one: amzn.to/4c0jei1

Still saving for the 200-600, but for now the set-up I have is working OK for me 😊

@@JoHeard Thanks Jo, glad to hear it was covered. Keep up the good work, am heading to Kruger in August so gearing up for that !
@@AndyM... Oh wow that will be an amazing experience!

Great images. Isn't it typical that it's on the way out that you notice things?
Always the case, when you're not looking you see more!
End result justifies some of the annoyances along the way, but it always sucks when gear decides to test out if gravitation works on them. 😒

Oh no! It's my own fault, I should have been paying more attention to it really 🤦
