His interpretation of MacBeth was completely original, and my very favorite take on this dark mysterious play. There was more going on in that play than most people realize. "Fair is foul and foul is fair, hover in the fog and the filthy air."
An original who will never be duplicated. His insights are so valuable, and I don't think many truly understand the import of his wisdom about living and life. He doesn't want to be analyzed and doesn't need to be analyzed by others. He is a truly an individuated entity, a man who has suffered much and learned from it. And he articulates that suffering -- and the suffering of the world, through his art.
I met Roman in France 1999 I didn't know who he was and I was only 15 but as I have the gift I told her a female was coming through with a message to tell him to STOP BEATING HIMSELF UP BECAUSE HE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PREVENT WHAT HAPPENED,AND SHE KNOWS IT WASN'T HIS FAULT. He then told me all about his beautiful wife and their unborn child who was murdered along with friends,he told me they a good lifestyle and lived in a nice house on the hills of LA. Then one night while he was away a group of people walked up the closed road and killed the care takers friend who was waiting by the gate ,they then climbed the gate and cut the the phone wires and went over the gate went up the drive and then found an open window and I think we know the rest of the story.😢

Brilliant journalist!
Thanks for posting this. It's hilarious to see Polanski get angry at Cousins.😂
Thank you for posting this excellent interview with a great director.

The moment when he watches Sharon on the screen is very moving.
Awful interviewer.
