Well done for letting her know. When you're a kid, it's easy to forget the "supporting staff" surrounding you. I remember when I was like 11, I occasionally had some short, friendly chats with an elderly cleaning lady at school (no idea how it started, as I was generally a pretty bratty, self-centered kid). A few years later, when she retired, she gave me a card, a small gift and gave me a hug. I had no idea how much those small interactions meant to her. It wasn't until I became an adult with a job that I fully realised the importance of getting recognized, not only for the job you do, but also for the human being you are behind the job.
I remember being the only kid who would say thank you every day for when we got off at my stop in hs, I tried being really nice because I had terrible drivers all throughout mid and elementary and appreciated when they didn’t hit speed bumps doing like 35+ and yell at us for screaming. One I had, the man told all us like ~10 year olds that the bus wont work because we’re too loud, let us off on the side of the road outside a plaza and drove off after a couple minutes. We had a diff driver and bus number every week after that.
It happened in a matter of seconds. We have hindsight and know what's gonna happened before we watched, so it's easy to say that from here. But in the moment, when he's done this everyday 5 days a week all year, it's easy to space out. Luckily the bus driver wasn't.

@@EmeraldPencil46 I understand what your talking about but if you look in the video it tells you exactly what actions are done by the driver. Notice the "Stop Arm" term on the top left of the video. Yeah that big gap is also very weird, making it seem like the bus was om the left lane. @@SoupTurtle16ah yes, its the kid’s fault for neatly dying, makes sense to me 👍
@@WhereAmITheBook thats almost as good as saying the guy who jumped off the roof died, not because its his fault is cuz gravity exist. Also from what I learned in driving is that regardless what other do its always necssaary to pay attention to what you do could possible endanger you. You can't stop someone from speeding 100 mphs down the road but you could always stop yourself from being in their way as they do stupid things like that.
@@SoupTurtle16 I don't know how buses might function in other countries, but at least here in Canada, when the bus slows down before a stop, a stop sign comes out and lights flash, all before the bus is even stopped. Unless the video was mirrored or anything (or I'm just wrong), it looks like you drive on the left side of the road, so it's definitely not North America, so things might be different.
Edit: I just carefully rewatched it and the car is going forwards with the bus, so its not left side driving, but its kinda weird how there's a gap in between the bus and the stop. Normally it should be on the side of the road, but its not for some reason here.
@@EmeraldPencil46 I understand what your talking about but if you look in the video it tells you exactly what actions are done by the driver. And you look at the top left and the video the car drove by 0.2 seconds after the stop sign was released. So the bus driver did not release the stop sign before the bus even came to a full stop. Notice the "Stop Arm" term on the top left of the video. Yeah that big gap is also very weird, making it seem like the bus was om the left lane. But in amother comment a person pointed out that it was probably the shoulder of the road, which mean the driver just decided to speed pass on a shoulder, which was unthinkable to me. How you know its a woman ..may be they/them recognise as a puppet, monkey, donkey, male, trash, cash, sluch, sloth, bear, dear, canoe, drip, soup, amoeba, paramesium, palladium, ion, proton, silucone, and million other thing... how do you affirm a gende to them being in US😂😂😂
It's her job. She almost opened door w car approaching. This happens a hundred times/day. Kids die. Waiting for morning bus. Wisc girl is ready to step on bus. Car speeding upon bus from rear takes the ditch, she was standing in. . I was picking kids up one AM. 5yo girl was across street. Put out stop arm & she starts to cross. I held up traffic to go teach her the right way. F the traffic. Car in this video...$50 fine in some states. No one loses license. Max fine?... Maybe $300? One yr I drove. Only one flew by.
@@baberRuth that does not change the fact that the woman saved the kids life
@@baberRuthwow. she opened the door when a car was supposed to yield. Definitely her fault that the car thought they were above the law!
@@DanialDEcool go back to war games on your phone. She didn't open it.
The way he looked back at the bus driver after she saved him like “Did you jus-How did yo-what???”
Did you just ducking touch me?!
Screw the guy who blazed it through a school bus stop sign. My school's busses have a camera on them now so if someone does this they can be charged for it.
except if it’s a cop, they’ll get a slap on the wrist for almost killing a child.
If it was a cop you would probably hear the siren and see the lights.
Considering what I have seen on the roads. Mind you I'm from europ and it is a bit harder to get drivers license here. I would take them away put a driving for a few years, or decades, and have them go to driving school again.
The only fine for this is you don't deserve to drive ever again.
@@Ajay4xExcept it wasnt a cop and a cop wouldn't do this
@@Ajay4xoh please, we’ve seen just recently a cop in Orlando get fired because another officer pulled them over for speeding and he just left the scene. Stop demonizing cops

this is why you teach your kids to not be natural selection fuel, failed concept, this shit doesn't happen in Poland
what makes it worse is that the car was going the same direction as the bus which means it intentionally went around it without a care in the world

We need to pay these people more for the extremely valuable work they do. Teachers, substitutes, school janitors, anyone that works for the wellbeing and future of children.
Ok, sure, let's do that. Where will the money come from? Are you willing to pay higher taxes?
@@YamiKisaraWe could raise the tax rate for the upper class so that disenfranchised people living paycheck to paycheck won’t have half their paycheck gone after federal. But the people in power don’t want to pay more taxes so we keep having to have the same conversation over and over again.
@@YamiKisara Many people aren’t willing to pay for public education because it won’t directly affect their life so they don’t care. This is also known as selfishness.
Im sure there are other ways we can get money for that. Regardless, if paying a little more per year so the people taking care of my kid for most of day can be fairly compensated then im all on board@@YamiKisara

Good Bus drivers who follow rules and ensures safety should have good pay and they deserve respect 😊
It looks like they dropped the kid off in the middle of the street, don't they usually pull off to the sidewalk?

Huge respect to bus driver for taking a big care of everything and saving this kid’s life, he’s a real G. ✊🔥

Absolute unacceptable, they should take away people's licenses for running bus stop signs.
It’s the biggest mark you can get on your license if you’re caught.
i think they do in some states
@the1misscinny a buddy of mine blew a bus stop sign and the bus driver came back around to find his house after her route to chew him out and put the fear of God into him.

RIP to Brent Jordan of Lewisburg, TN who died this way in the 90’s. He was 8 years old and a close friend. We were all devastated. The worst part is his mother and sister saw him go flying. The man was late for work he said, and passed the bus 💔
Can't see it but she definitely was closing the door with her left hand. If he got away he was about to have the doors close in his face. This lady deserves the world.
..and get hit by a car

Kid has the situational awareness of a pinecone
You're very rude. He's a kid. He's likely tired, hungry, and is thinking about what is next. He's also successfully gotten off the bus 700 times in his life, so he's on auto-pilot.
He's a child. Let him be a child. We bus drivers are the ones looking out, and only release the kid once it's safe, and are ready to grab, or honk (which, to a released kid, means "Stop and look to me for further instruction."), or anything else to keep them safe.
You're very rude, and have quite the ego, too.
