Sweet work mate, I'm at similar point with mine. A full resto on a 1961, 2 door. Kinda guessing as i go, even welding for the first time. Following this though is brilliant. I'm in Lincolnshire and its been far to windy and wet to start painting but i do like the gazebo idea. Knickin that!😂. Lookin forward to seeing more. 🫡
Thank you sir, the Gazebo I cannot take credit for that was Dave's Idea but a bloody good one for sure. We were lucky enough to get a wind free day but rained like hell not ideal for paint but doable for sure. Next job will be get the engine bay and wiring loom done then we should be able to pair her with her engine again. Thanks for the comment and continuing support.
Looks good, nice job. I love a good clean engine bay. Hopefully you can keep all the components in your head and the order in which you'll have to reassemble! Looks intimidating! The engine bay on my Midget is filthy, and looks like it was in a fire, because it was. Someday I'll get to a full rebuild on her. In the meantime, my 60 Frogeye Sprite's engine bay is pristine, I bought it last January from an estate auction of a former MG Car Club member who passed away and his grandkids sold off all his classic cars. It was a completely restored tub. I almost don't want to bolt anything back into it that isn't itself perfectly clean, so I'm touching every component on the restore and rust-converting, priming, painting everything, or buying new, so when it's bolted back in, it looks better than factory fresh.
Another great stream enjoyed it , weather has been atrocious here too in the East Riding of Yorkshire even though our moggy is covered in the garage am kinda itching to get a few jobs done on her for the rally season 👍😊
Yeah agreed, they are a great hobby welder and i have found with the gasless welding wire they are fine just when you switch them to gas and wire it binds up all the time. it will have to do till I can afford a better welder i think.

You can do it! Believe in yourself and give it a go. you can always sand it back and have another go.

the problem i find with those welders are if the welder is to close to the job the wire has to go around to many bends and blocks up

i've been spoilt i used a murex130 in the garage where i worked and when the garage closed i managed to buy the welder
