  • ⛷Whistler/Blackcomb Family Ski Trip - Canada🇨🇦
    We left Minnesota and flew into Vancouver International Airport and took a shuttle to Whistler Village. We have a 9-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy and this was the biggest test and mountain they've ever been on. We've practiced at Afton Alps in MN to prepare.
    The trip was epic and the kids absolutely loved it and they can't wait for the next one!

    I know I am late to the party and you will probably not even read this but I was looking for a family trip to Whistler and some impressions - amazing video! I used to travel through Canada - I am German btw - and had the opportunity to work (and ski, of course) in Whistler for about six weeks. I would absolutely love to come back in the form of a family trip. Do you have any numbers from that trip and mind sharing those maybe? Thanks so much for the video, I know prices rose substantially over the course of the last three years but anything helps!

    to anyone thinking of going to WB I recommend you do not blindly go down any double black a lot of them are beyond the abilities of most people especially if the snow is less than optimal

    Really enjoyed your video and what a lovely family, Ingrid was so youthful looking, I thought she was the older daughter at first . I've skied Europe countless times and nothing beats the Alps for the massive amounts of ski resorts and charming ski towns . In North America, I absolutely love Whistler/Blackcomb , fantastic skiing and wonderful village with great places to eat and shop . We are moving and our new house will be within a 9 hour drive from Whistler, and we'll be able to enjoy winter trips as well as summer, can't wait !! Please make other ski videos in the future .

      Thank you for the kind words and thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the video 😊. Yes, I'm a pretty lucky guy to have Ingrid!!
      I would love to ski in Europe and the Alps sound Amazing!! It was our first time at Whistler/Blackcomb, but it was such a great trip and we'll have to go back. Our family has another trip on the books for early March so I'll be doing another video of that. We'll be road-tripping from MN to Keystone Colorado and we might also go to Vail for a day or so. We're all looking forward to it! Best of luck with your move.

    just a quick question. how did you get from the airport to whistler and back ?

    • @LivingInMN
      @LivingInMN 3 года назад +1

      We took a shuttle from the airport directly to the place we stayed at Whistler. It was very convenient and we would do it again the same way. You don't need a vehicle once you get there. The shuttle will also pick up you up and bring you back to the airport. There a few different shuttle options. Thanks for watching!

    Any tips and tricks, do's and don'ts would be much appreciated. I'm taking my family (wife, 16 year old boy, 12 year old girl) to Whistler for Spring Break. Flying into Vancouver, rented a car, staying at a condo in the Northstar Condo's. Got a 4 day pass for a 8 day trip.

    • @bjerknesadventures
      @bjerknesadventures  4 года назад +1

      Hey Nate, you'll have a blast! We decided against renting a car and went with "Whistler Connection" www.whistlerconnectiontravel.com/. We were bringing our own gear and the shuttle was great. You get off of your flight and you walk right up to their desk at the airport, they load your equipment/suitcases, and you're off! It's a beautiful drive from Vancouver to Whistler. Once you get there, you won't need a vehicle unless you plan to leave the resort area. Depending on the skills of your kids, the family zone areas were fun and pretty relaxing. The "Fire and Ice" show was pretty entertaining, which is every Sunday at 7pm(get their early to get the front row) and it's free :) There are tons of shops and different places to eat in Whistler Village. The Northstar condos are a little farther away so you could check if they have a shuttle to bring you to the mountain otherwise it a healthy walk. Have fun and make awesome memories!

      @@bjerknesadventures I found a 4 door jeep to rent for 300 for the week, which was a lot cheaper than any shuttles I found and we would of had to wait a couple more hours for the shuttle time. Did you use the busing around Whistler, if so did you buy a weekend pass or was it free?

    • @LivingInMN
      @LivingInMN 4 года назад +2

      Nate Vanwyck I think the shuttles at Whistler are free, but we just walked everywhere. The place we stayed was a ski-in/ski-out, which was great! Pretty good price on the Jeep! Have a blast!

      @@TheRealEstateNate just one note make sure the car you rent have snow rated tires , in Whistler it is law to have them on but not in Vancouver. Nate you really don't need a car in Whistler ,if your in the village it all walking no car allowed . From your condo it's about a 10min walk

    • @TheRealEstateNate
      @TheRealEstateNate 4 года назад +1

      Jason Wood I understand but my car rental was 300 bucks for the week. Shuttling into Whistler was close to 400 one way, and we would have to wait three hours after my flight landed to catch our ride. Saves me money and time.
