    I have the exact same tractor and 3 bagger. I like the bagger. It handles, even damp, grass and leaves very well, even with standard blades. I would never attempt to bag wet grass or leaves.

    I've got a 10 year old ltx1040 cub cadet that (for what it is) has been a great mower. It's like the cheapest entry level mower they had back then,but it's been reliable and leaves a decent cut. I'm hoping to get something similar to yours maybe next spring. Mine has the stamped steel deck and only one hanger mounting point in the front. It let's the deck move around alot,which I've never liked. Yours seems sturdy enough and alot more affordable than john Deere's x300 series. My dealer doesn't have much stock to look at right now,but I'll keep an eye out for an xt2 to go over and look at.

      I had an xt1 for a while and it did a great job mowing. I traded it to the guy who worked on my barn as payment. I’ve had the gt2544, used my neighbor’s xt2 and bought the xt3 after driving my brother’s. I think universally, manufacturers are running behind right now. Can’t get motors? Thank You for watching

    Good information. It was great that you pointed out K46 and the fact that it's not a garden tractor. I don't place much value on a K46, and think it's ridiculous that it can't be easily serviced, and it's on a tractor with a 50 inch cut. Does anybody know how much more a K62 would cost in this model? Are we talking a few hundred bucks, because I sure would be willing to pay it! I think a K46 is acceptable with 44 inch and under cuts, perfectly level ground, no towing, and a rider under 160 lbs. Don't know about you, but that sure isn't me . . .

      I think the higher ranged JohnDeere x3xxx series has a k58. It’s not a ton more money, but they’re still a yard, not a garden tractor. The garden tractor market is pretty limited these days. The John Deere x5xx series is getting really pricey. My brother bought a Cub Cadet XT3 a couple years ago and it’s been very reliable. Thank You for watching

    Really like the videos. I found them while looking up more info on the sub-compact Mahindra tractors. I have a SMALL property (just over 0.6 acre) but am wanting to get into growing some of our own food. I also have a bunch of small projects as well. I currently have a JD 345 from like 1999 but it doesn't have any kind of rear PTO for a tiller and it SUCKS when it's even slightly wet... So no way I'm doing any "farm work" with it.
    As for Cub Cadets... They used to be awesome. Just like a LOT of older brands until they got sucked up into MTD. Now it's like all they care about is pinching pennies! The fabricated deck is NICE. My grandpa bought one like the one you have here and had to pay extra for the deck because it came with a stamped deck. The fabricated deck is lifetime warrantied though!
    Anyway, I have been really looking into the 1023, emax, or maybe a Kioti. Just wondering how they finish mow with their belly mowers. Since I will be using it for that A LOT. I also have a Toro z5030 zero turn and it is GARBAGE (another MTD product). The frame flexes SO bad and it cuts absolutely horribly! I've gone through SO many things trying to see WHY (blades, adjustments, belt, spindles) but it just sucks at cutting. So I will probably sell it and my JD 345 if I go to a sub compact.
    Would love to see more info about your baby Mahindra though!

      My local dealer is a family friend, he says they sell a pile of those little Max tractors. I agree with everything you’ve said. Nobody builds for longevity anymore. I’m not sure what year they started, but at some point, Deere offered the 345 with differential lock. My x530 has that and works very well. I use it for tilling, it has a sleeve hitch and a Johnny bucket. You pay a lot for green paint though. Have you looked into BCS? For a small property, you may find it a good fit

      @@LedgemereHeritageFarm I actually hadn't heard of BCS. Thanks for the link! Those remind me of the old Gravely tractors! Sadly they only make one option of their old school style walk behind tractors now (Pro-QXT) and it doesn't even have a tiller attachment. LoL
      The only downfall of the BCS is that I'd still be shopping for a mower that didn't suck like my Toro does. The Deere cuts pretty well but upon changing the oil in the 20hp liquid cooled Kawasaki that's on it I discovered a saddening quantity of "motor glitter" in her. It's been well taken care of too. However, maybe 600 hours and it being 22 years old may be the reason?? Oh and yes, there was the option for diff-lock on that year but mine doesn't have it sadly!
      That's why I was looking into the sub compact tractors. I initially was looking at lawn tractors with the PTO for a tiller but they are expensive and, for example, in JD you can get a 5 or 7 series that has a PTO but they are actually only 500$ cheaper to 1,500$ MORE then just buying a 1023e. Which BLEW my mind!! Especially since there are deals and discounts on the 10 series. Then I discovered the Mahindra and seen you can get EVERYTHING mower, loader, backhoe, for the same price as an unequipped 1025r. Haha
      I see that Bobcat makes a sub compact but haven't heard anything about them. They seem fairly priced though.

    • @LedgemereHeritageFarm

      @@TheGibsOfTheTube I know your pain. The garden tractors are so pricey you might as well buy a real tractor and it’s twice the machine. My 325 had about 1200 hours on it when I gave it to my brother in law, but that could be an anomaly. Bobcat tractors are rebadged Kiotis😆

    • @TheGibsOfTheTube
      @TheGibsOfTheTube 3 года назад

      @@LedgemereHeritageFarm oh ok. That's good to know. I knew Bobcat was owned by Daedong (spelling?) I didn't realize so was a Kioti. Wonder if they cost more for just the name then? They seemed pretty well priced (cheaper then the JD machine)

      I’ve heard good things about them. You never know really. Cub Cadet used to sell a nice Mitsubishi utility. Mahindra took them over with the same models, but red for a while. I say find a dealer you like and try a bunch of tractors. Buy the one that you like with a good dealership behind it.😀

    • @LedgemereHeritageFarm
      @LedgemereHeritageFarm  2 года назад

      A separate impeller on the deck chute. John Deere calls it a power flow system. It works like the second stage on a two-stage snow blower😊

  • @rjd8434
    @rjd8434 2 года назад +1

    That’s not Kawasaki’s premium engine it’s their mid level engine. But a pretty good one. It’s not the same engine you’ll find in John Deere’s 500 series. It is however the same line of engine you’ll find in JD’s 300 series. JD’s 500 series come equipped with the FS series engine which is the next level up from the FR series. Which is what you have there. I have a 2019 or 2020 Cub Cadet GX 54 D and I wish I’d never bought it. It gets the job done but it has the gimmicky fast attach blades, automatic chock, and push button start. All I’m sure are destined to fail at some point. That’s why I ordered a JD X590. As soon as I get it my Cub is for sale. So if you know anyone looking for a used Cub let me know. Comes with a snow blower and cab also has the K58 transmission . With locking differential. It is a garden tractor

    • @LedgemereHeritageFarm
      @LedgemereHeritageFarm  2 года назад +1

      The only reason I didn’t get an x590 was because the dealer told me they could not get them and they over quoted me $4000. I think the xT2 Cubs are more in line with the Deere 300-series. I had a John Deere x320 that was one of the best machines I’d ever owned. It too had a k58. Thank You for watching

      @@rjd8434 the scuttle I heard was that they had a lot of trouble getting motors from Kawasaki. I have a buddy who works at a small engine shop and he said husqvarna is in a dilemma trying to get motors too. My x530 has a cheap hydraulic lever, but they’ve redesigned it with the new models. One thing I don’t like about Deere is that in many instances, you can’t really choose the deck you want. I’d be happy with an x580, but I couldn’t get a 42” or 48” deck. A 54 is too big for what I’m mowing. I’d love to hear how that 590 goes after you’ve had it a bit
