I spent 1hour trying to open the god damn thing and made it worse tried to roll up the tape and it got all tangled up I say don’t waste money on this and buy the brush white out it’s easier and faster

Video was helpful. However, today I ended up throwing away a brand new Bic. Three of us in the office tried our best to salvage it but by the time it got passed around, the unspoiled ribbon became a twisted mess that wouldn't spool nicely. It would crinkle and jam and we were at a breaking point so I just unspooled the entire thing and ripped it up in frustration. Our boss overhead us complaining about it and agreed how much she hates the Bic brand. We immediately put in an order for the regular office brand we use that has the actual wheel you turn with your fingers. Those are amazing. Will never again buy Bic or any brand that does not have that feature.
Yours was probably tangled inside. Separating the spools and winding them is the only way but you will probably need to reference a working one to get the path and twists correct during reassembly. Also, this will make a mess.
GUYS LISTEN UP! THERES NO NEED TO OPEN IT AND ALL OF THAT. FOR STARTERS, GET A MULTI PACK OF WHITE OUT. but If it breaks put the tip of it towards the paper keep on moving it to the right until it rewinds back into it. Once you do that, try using it again.

Mine opens up the other way with the garbage spool facing me, if I were to flip it, it will become even MORE UNSPOOLED and I can't afford a new one at this time. This is just making me more pissed off and frustrated because it's all I have and now need more while on a fixed disability income. This was stuff from 2 yrs ago that was stored in a cool dry place so the whiteout part would still be fine. Its like it's all on one wheel that moves in the same direction, so it can't be fixed. I tried, and it just ripped so I now have no correction tape.
Try to keep the two halves parallel to each other when you pull them apart, I found that using the fingernails of my thumb and middle finger in opposite directions works best for me. If you can get one side a little bit further out, you could also try rocking back and forth, hold the part that is further out from moving back in by squeezing it and prying on the other side. Best of luck!

The two halves need to come off perfectly parallel, otherwise the pins that hold it together will bind and it won't come off. Mine wasn't glued but was still tricky to get off
I actually find the video helpful, but the issue is that I have one that does not want to open at all !! and every time I try to fix it, it just gets worse. I could really need help on that 🤔😮💨😮💨

The wheels also come off, so you can wind them by hand before pressing them into place.

If you can get one end open far enough to stick a credit card in, that would help prevent it from closing. Update us if you find a good solution!
