Hello there Mr. Flix. I discovered your channel when your Black Hole video came up as a recommendation (spoiler, it’s one of my all time favourite movies). However, I’ve decided to start at the beginning and go on your journey with you. I have a recent personal story regarding The Black Hole that I’ll share with you when I reach that video. I’ve seen 14 of the 15 films you list here. Nice to see two David Lynch entries. I’m much more of a TV than movie buff so 👏👏for giving Twin Peaks a shout. I’m only a year younger than you and it would seem that these movies had similar effects on us back in our youth. I had an immediate nostalgia burst when you mentioned watching 2001 and Jaws on the tv. This was my first time too for both movies (I’m also in the UK) so I looked up the date. 2001 - BBC One 1st January 1981 7.35pm Jaws - ITV 4th September 1982 6.45pm And for the record Star Wars - ITV 24th October 1982 7.15pm or 7.30pm depending on your region. The only film on your list I haven’t seen is Lawrence Of Arabia. So thanks for a great introductory episode. I look forward to catching up with your subsequent editions.
Hello, and thank you for your lovely comment! I'm glad my (albeit) lengthy introductory video got you a little nostalgic, but a word of warning, I do tend to waffle on as you'll find if you're working through my videos! 🤣 Thanks for clarifying the broadcast dates of some of those movies. It's good they pretty much align with my memories of when I first saw some of them. Hopefully, you'll enjoy some of the other videos of movies I talked about up till now, and there's plenty more on the way! I'm still a young channel, so I'm still trying to get seen on the large stage of RUclips, but it's getting comments such as yours which make it all worth while! 😁👍
Well Mr Flix files I thoroughly enjoyed your first video and already looking forward to the further ones you’ve already made. I have a similar time line as yourself and with one exception your favourite 15 could easily be mine. Very pleased you’ve taken the plunge, already subbed and looking forward to more. Thank you for sharing your love of film.
Thank you so much for such a kind comment. It really means a lot! As you can see, I'm still a RUclips newbie but aiming to upload every Tuesday & Friday! Glad you agree with my film choices. It is rather sad that most are 20th century, but that's how it is! I'm sure you'll enjoy my upcoming videos if you like what you've seen so far! 😁👍
Fantastic introduction video mate 🤩🙌🍿🎸🎶 Brilliant backstory to how you fell in love with Film; some amazing choices here; ‘The Shining’ is my fav Horror film ever; watch it every tale end of October; the Book is superb aswell 😀🍿🪓📚👌 ‘Jaws’ is superb; ‘Alien’ is great; love ‘Robocop’ 😎 Shawshank is my second fav film of all time; absolutely adore it! Saw it at Tyneside Cinema not long back 😊 ‘Blue Velvet’ is my fav David Lynch film; wonderful film; brilliant soundtrack aswell; love Julee Cruise & Angelo Badamenti 😀 Keep up the awesome work; hope you have a great weekend and I shall give you a shoutout in one of my future videos 😀🙏🍿🎸🎶
Wow, thank you for your kind comments! I am very pleased you agree with my choices, and I'm working hard to make future videos better! (And thanks for the shout out!) 😁😁
@@TheFlixFiles I started my channel back in January and I am still trying to get my editing skills and organisation skills in best way I can; so no worries there man 😀🙏🍿🎸🎶 I was very impressed with this introduction video and that ‘Frantic’ review aswell; keep up the excellent work bud 😊
I really enjoyed watching your intro vid. I have to say I know this guy and we often talk about movies so it was really good fun seeing if you mentioned any movies that I thought would be in your top 15 and a few of them were :). Keep the vids coming and I look forward to our next discussion.
Welcome to RUclips mate I started a year ago I love it😍 great hobbie and the people are fantastic and passionate about movies I have learned so much , wow yes I was born in 1970 👍🏻👍🏻 I will watch your favourite films later I'm off to Sainsbury's with the wife 😂😮
What? No comments so far. Well, that needs to change. I've just had a look through this after your comment on my own channel so I can' possibly give you some guidance on where to go from here but I'll do that on my own channel as there's not much. You have a good manner and a good voice so that should work well for you as you develop further and further. I think The Shining was a couple of years before Blade Runner by the way. John.
Thank you, John! Love your channel, and it's an honour to have you pop by my little corner of RUclips. (And you're correct about The Shining's release, I'll chalk that one up to nerves being my first video!) 🤣
Of course The shining is in your list just a unbelievable movie just unbeatable, i haven't seen Shawshank redemption for 5 years i have the 4 k Blu-ray so its on this Sunday, fury road surprised me mate i didn't like it at all , doctor sleep is fantastic overlook hotel looked unbelievable 😍

Thank you for the sub! Ive got some videos Ive already finished editing that Ive had a lot of fun with, so do check them out over the coming weeks! Will pop over to your channel for a peek. 👍😁
@@TheFlixFiles you're already getting brownie points from me showing Rear Window.. my fav Hitchcock movie of all time lol And no problem matey.. from your video so far we've pretty similar tastes.. 😎👍
Welcome to the community 😎👍🏻 i think the thing where people have alot of movies they haven't seen yet in their collections is partly a side effect of doing / watching these yoytube videos 😂 we all get excited about hearing each others recommendations and favourites that if we see them on a good deal we end up adding them to our own collections ready for the day the moment strikes to watch it 😁 well thats what i tend to do 😅 have fun on ur channel mate, ive subbed and hit the notification bell 👍🏻
@TheFlixFiles we have all been in the same boat, just do what u enjoy doing, and ur audience will find u 👍🏻 My personal advice for youtube would be not to worry about the analytical side of youtube, (unless u are trying to become a youtube megastar, but alot of us just do it for the enjoyment of being in a community of similar minded people) don't loose heart if u loose a sub now and again, it will happen and it's all part of the process. Bit like keeping a pencil sharp, u have to loose a few shavings along the way 😅
Hi I dropped you a sub 👍 I've been doing youtube for about a year and really enjoyed it so far. I started very unprofessional and will stay that way 😆 I'm a year older and love a movie ramble. Enjoy 😊
Just finished watching. I had to do it in 2 parts. I agree with all your picks. Some great stuff. I haven't got to Doctor Sleep and I do have a copy so will have to give it a spin as you seem to be a decent judge 😁
Thank you for watching! I feel like people that have watched this whole video deserve a t-shirt or something - "I watched all The Flix Files introductory video and survived!" 🤣 It was a bit long in retrospect, but I'm still a RUclips noob and learning from my mistakes. Doctor Sleep should definitely be on your watchlist if you're a fan of The Shining.
