might sound a bit rude me saying this and I am aware the Falcons also use this ground but i think the Newcastle owners need to get their shit together or let the ladies play at st.james because Kingston Park looks like utter shite there. the pitch upkeep looks shocking and the stands just look dirty. come on, i get it, the ladies dont bring in as much viewership or revenue but we clearly have the means to represent ourselves in all sports with our crest on. get your shit together Newcastle United!!

I agree mate, Kingston Park looks like it's seen better days. I'm not sure how Amanda and Mehrdad could get a new ground for the Ladies' team past the PIF at this stage in their development. I'm not sure if both the men's and women's teams would both be able to play at St James' due to the ware and tear to the pitch.
If they did move, the only thing that I would miss from Kingston Park would be the red roofless bus.

@@aking-plums6985 I wouldn't even go as far as pushing for a new ground. Sure the women are sharing but surely that begs even more for better upkeep if there is other events there. As previously mentioned I am aware it's all about money but at the same time representation is a huge aspect and the whole newcastle umbrella should see investment

Unfortunately that's the reality of the rugby union world at the moment - there's not a lot of spare cash going around, and I think aesthetics just take a back foot to keeping the doors open.
In defence of the Falcons, the camera angle isn't the best because you're not seeing the main stand, which is perfectly nice, and you mainly focus on the stands at either end which are old concrete. Equally in terms of the pitch, it's an open air pitch at the end of winter which tends to get a lot of use in rugby, especially in the areas where the box sits and you tend to get a lot of churning, heavily contested scrums, there's not that much they can do about it and any work you manage during a week is likely to just get churned up again at the weekend.
I would like to see some more investment in the ground and the experience, and I do know there's a long term ambition to build something for the reserve and women's teams which is a bit more fit for purpose (especially if and when they get to the top two tiers where there's more money coming in), but there's not too many stadiums in Newcastle which can host and have the facilities of Kingston Park, so they're stuck for choice when it comes to where to put it.
