👋 Thanks for watching! Be sure to check out my FREE TRAINING (hosted by Kaitlyn Davidson) - HOW TO GO FROM STRUGGLING TO LEARN PIANO TO PLAYING YOUR FAVORITE SONGS (IN AS LITTLE AS A FEW MONTHS) WITHOUT OVERWHELM, CHILDREN'S MUSIC, AND UNNECESSARY MUSIC THEORY www.try.piano.ly/free-training
Thank you very much. First time, that I directly understand what a teacher explains. I have seen thousands of videos over the last couple of years.... and many creators claimed that their method will easily teach me piano.... but it never worked. Frustrating. However. Now I got you. Thanks again. Your lessons are not just easy, also the content is really interesting and applicable for most of the situations.
Great stuff! As a self-taught guitar player, playing chords has always been my focus and I am happy to see that your approach supports this for the keyboard. Your presentation is clear, concise, and enjoyable. I'll have to see what other excellent videos you are sure to have on this channel. :)
Thanks for showing us that online backing track tool. Another variation on playing scales that I like is to just use the pentatonic scales. Keep up the great work!!!!
I get bored very quickly practicing scales. This is a really cool way to play/practice them so will give it a try tomorrow. Thanks for letting us know about the chord player web site.
You asked a question, and no I don't hate practicing scales. As a Nerd, I've always liked practicing them. In fact, I know more about playing scales than my piano level. I've dabbled in this lately, and have had to take a break since I was having too much fun. Very good video, merci beaucoup.
This is super helpful, but I'm a beginner and haven't learned my progressions yet 🎹 are there any books 📚 or pdfs you can recommend for this? Because right now I'm just lost 😡 I'm also on a budget - could these books be checked out of a library? Thx 🙏
I actually really like playing scales.😂 And I love this exercise you just provided. I can't wait to try it. Although I have yet to be taught the Roman numeral chords of a scale, but I will figure that out. I will also check out your course! Thanks for being a fun and inspiring teacher!!❤🎉
How about if I want to be a serious classical player but I've mostly always played pop and non classical. I want to play Chopin. Can't play a note. Covered the whole Elton John book now for 3 years, can play most of it well enough. Moonlight Sonata in 10th grade recital, a litt e bit of Rhapsody in blue and I tried to teach myself chopin polaise in Aflat in 9th grade. It was interesting.

@@pianoly Thanks Kaitlyn! You are such a fun and inspiring teacher!
Thanks!
Thank you so much for the support!
Could you make a video explaining the Roman numeral chord patterns?
It may or may not be next week's video... ;)
We should invert the hands too, shouldn't we? I mean, playing chords with the right hand and the scale with the left.
Every piece I play I attempt to play the scale whichever key the piece is in. Also to determine if it’s major or minor key.
❤

Are there any rules to chord progressions, other than begin on the tonic?
Nah
Not really, just experiment. Also, you don't have to begin on tonic!
@@pianoly but beginning a piece on other than the tonic would be a mode, right?
Where can I get the notes for the different scales?

Thank you so much
Not gonna lie, if Kaitlyn was my teacher, I wouldn't be able to focus on the piano. 🔥

Everything seems so easy when you are doing it😢 Scales are easy, cords are easy, but both at the same time 🤯😵💫🤪
Keep practicing and you will get there!!
Piano is fucking difficult
i love scales a lot but memorizing is the problem 😰
