    One of mundines greatest performances even in a loss. I was at Nerang rsl in 2004 and scored it 116-112 and 17 years later I scored it 116-112 again

    Very decent fight, good showing from both men. I appreciated the lack of BS from Mundine in the post-fight interview.

    I don't like Mundine but this was one of his best fights, and Kessler was a beast, but Mundine stood toe to toe with him and out punched him on many occasions. Kessler definitely was not expecting a tough fight like this. If Mundine didn't listen to the hype of Kessler before this fight, I believe if Mundine was not in such awe of Kessler, this is a fight he could have won..

      Agree. If Mundine had been more active and confident he would have won this fight. He was very good in his prime.

    Anthony Mundine's fights are always good from the point of view of boxing fans, as he has such an exciting, edge of the seat fighting style, hands down, and pushing the limits, using footwork, advanced defencive tactics and techniques, and blistering hand speed in his combinations and counters, to take it to absolutely anyone that he goes into the ring against.
    I have definitely become a big fan upon going back over his career and fights.
    Big respect, Anthony "The Man" Mundine, and for all of the up and coming, and former, Indigenous Australian boxers. A massive talent pool that I have witnessed firsthand during my many years in that incredible country.
    I hope that Anthony attains victory against Jeff Horn in the imminent bout coming up a little later on this week, also.

    Watching this fight through in slow motion/quarter speed, truly does make one realise just how many of Mikkel Kessler's punches missed or were rolled with and/or blocked.
    It was only upon actually doing so, and watching closely throughout, that the reasons for any controversy become a lot clearer.
    I encourage anyone to try it for themselves, with an open mind, and see what they think.

      Mundine was not robbed , his punch output wasn't sufficient , even if Kesslers shots weren't landing clean he was dictating the pattern of the fight and making Mundine retreat often

  • @alexanderishere1857
    @alexanderishere1857 3 года назад +3

    Kessler was the best SMW in the world at this point in time. Him and Calzaghe took turns being the best depending on injuries and form for several years. Then after Calzaghe retired Kessler was undoubtedly the best until he lost to Ward and from then Ward was the best SMW. So for my money this was the closest Mundine ever came to the pointy end of boxing. Very good performance from Anthony. I had it the same as the Japanese judge and the Australian commentators (around 117-113).

    • @hardtoke

      Joe Calzaghe beat Kessler, he wasn't the best SMW.

    I wonder why Mundine dont get several warnings for his constant bending over often very long and mutch time - so M. Kessler cant hit him - only in Mundines bag and thats not legal - it ruins the fight a littel - but it shows that Mundine think hee has to back of / M. Kessler is for strong and good for Mundine, he feel outboxed. Also the littel episode afther the clok, Where Mundine dont stop. Caunt the times Mundine is in the ropes and make serius holes in the air / panic attacs with almost 0 result than M.K. score 1 ore 2 points.
