This saw and the LS1216L are hands down the two best miter saws ever made by Makita so far. They are well-engineered, slide effortlessly and cut like butter.
*Powerful motor, cuts through aluminum stock easily with standard blade **MyBest.Tools** Cuts are straight and angles are accurate. Good overall saw. The only thing I would have changed is the blade cover. It is very thin and wobbly.*
Great video ! I like the fact you didnt talk . It lets me as a viewer pay more attention to the product. Alot of people will talk non stop and thats ok , but me personally ends up paying more attention to what theyre saying versus what they were reviewing. Anyway my 2 cents . Take care and again awesome job !
I’ve gotta say you done a great job making this video. I bought the Bosch 12 in miter saw last year and have my regrets for not getting the Makita. All my power tools are makita and I love them. Definitely will own this in the future. I wish they made a shadow light version of the saw though!
I have both saws and I can tell you it all depends on what you plan on using the saw for . Fine trim or furniture definitely the Kapex . Rough cutting building decks or houses or anything like the Makita is awesome . Also comes down to your coin. This Makita is right at 900 usd and the Kapex is 1600 usd
Superb quality throughout, easy to assemble. I found the saw to be highly accurate and a delight to use (I am a homeowner using this saw for various projects). I attached the saw to a folding mobile stand to save space and that works great ruclips.net/user/postUgkxPeGkHOMe05FySypTOvYumxMn-xi39oRe as well. However, you have to be sure the saw is securely locking in position before collapsing the stand. I've had many of the brands over the years and have come to point where I only buy Bosch, the extra money is a small price to pay for the quality and ease of use. Treat yourself to the best.
How loud is it? I'm trying to replace my dewalt 12 slider because its huge and is really loud. Any idea how would you describe how loud it is? Thank you
You can adjust the laser line. Most people keep it left of blade because if you put your laser on your pencil mark line then the blade will cut just to the left making sure your piece isn't cut an eighth inch too short . But again you can set it to what suits your needs .
Just bought this and its missing the "grip" knob for the "turn base". It's part 21 in the manual. Can anyone send me dimensions of what it is so I can machine one, or tell me where to get a replacement in Canada? Thanks.
China. Where else. Makita used to be Japanese built, but now they're doing what all others- besides Festool- are doing: put their name on it, then have it built in China (PRC).
$800 and it has BRUSHES??? I would expect brushless for that. Also, it has the inferior laser cutting guide instead of a razor sharp shadow LED guide like some of the competitors. C'mon Makita, deliver $800 worth of saw. I would buy it if you fixed these two major flaws.
No corded miter box that I know of is brushless! And the laser is a minuscule thing to worry about when you’re actually getting a saw that cuts true. We have about 6 dewalt 12” saws and I have a 12” Bosch and I’d trade all of those in for this makita!
I bought the shitty Bosch and have had trouble with it from day one. It’s has a loud clicking sound when it winds down from a cut. It’s heavy and awkward as hell to carry! No one on our crew likes my miter saw, especially the older guys. They call it a transformer and just refuse to use it for anything other than a square cut.
LMAO. You had already unboxed it then videoed pretending to doing it again. Giveaway is that you have to cut the lid end tape before the flaps open. Good video though and much appreciated. I can't afford this saw in Australia as it's close to AU$1200, unfortunately.
The machine is good. But pathetic service in India after sales. From day one, there was a manufacturing diffect. There is a 1 degree difference for the right angle. There, engineers are not able to resolve the problem on site. Now they have requested to send a machine from Mumbai to thereafter Bangalore service center. Hope they solve my problem.

what is the other one?
Just bought one, this video is brilliant, thank you so much. I now know how to use it. Being a man we obviously dont read the instruction booklets!!
Same 😂 so right! I’m a visual learner

You made 50 square cuts and even cut a log but didn't compound cut crown? Fantastic demonstration. The lumberjacks will love this saw.
Thank you for this. I appreciate the time you put into this very well made video.
EXCELLENT Demo. Thanks
All my tools are milwaukee EXCEPT my sliding compound saw, its the makita 1019 and I looove it.
Perfektný stroj.
Are the upper and lower fences aligned/flush and are they 90° to the table?
would like to see you check the miter cuts!
Love the work you did to get this to us.
Is the laser single sided, looks left side only? Not a dual laser?
Any precision issues?
how do you lock it in at 0degrees compound
Hi, I'd like to have your advice. I'm undecided between makita ls1219l and kapex festool. I would like to make a good purchase.
Kapex dust collection is nowhere near a good as this.
Festool is one of the top brands in the world for precision! But it’s 6-800 usd more than the makita. I’d def say go with the Makita!

Does it take 15 turns to tighten the bevel knob?
Yes
It takes mine 3 or 4 turns . He really went ham on turning his lol

Hows the dust collection?
I would like to see this saw in a crown molding situation, looks nice though
Thanks for the video. Is it heavy to carry it by yourself? I am wondering if I can carry it from my car to the workshop and vice versa.
They are heavy, probably 20kg or a bit more? You can carry it by yourself short distances :)
How is the saw holding up
How loud is it? I'm trying to replace my dewalt 12 slider because its huge and is really loud. Any idea how would you describe how loud it is? Thank you
It’s not too bad, somewhere around 95 db. The motor is usually the loudest part.
It's not cutting exactly on the laser line. Why?
You can adjust the laser line. Most people keep it left of blade because if you put your laser on your pencil mark line then the blade will cut just to the left making sure your piece isn't cut an eighth inch too short . But again you can set it to what suits your needs .
The motor says 1800 watt but lots of take offs on dust extractors say 1300 watts, will it work ? What are you using

What are you using for dust collection?
Nice machine i like it👍👍
Is the laser with battery or 230v?
230v with a switch
muito bom, gostei da performance da LS1219l, top, show de máquina
How much that miter saw
Makita LS1219L Discontinued? It's true?
This was only a test of a sharp blade, you needed to cut some framing and shown the alignment etc. nice saw though.
Where is this saw produced? It is probably printed on the machine.

How brushless makes wired tools better?

Kitni kimat ka karta hai bhai
"Like a hot knife through butter"
Just sold my Bosch for this.
I’m doing the same thing!
I bought the shitty Bosch and have had trouble with it from day one. It’s has a loud clicking sound when it winds down from a cut. It’s heavy and awkward as hell to carry! Woow

laser doesn't look very accurate
