I appreciate you taking the time to make the video I have replaced brushes in hand tools but not a welder and was not sure how to go about it. Thanks man
Love the sound of that diesel! I'm hoping bad brushes is what has mine locked up right now. I've seen them lock small blower motors up when that last little bit jumps out of the guide and gets wedged.
Looks like you got s good deal Chase. Reefer engines last 20,000 plus hours. Not sure if that is comparable but should be in the neighborhood. Keep up the good work
I would guess the life expectancy of a 3600rpm diesel welder might be 7-10,000 hrs. If it was a gas engine it would be worn out, but those little kubotas run a long time and if it was an 1800rpm diesel welder i've seen some of those over 20,000 hrs. I suspect the generator head might wear out before the little kubota lol
My Miller pipe pro 350d Mitsubishi engine .... brushes went at 2700.5 hrs..... 🤷♂️🤷♂️ Miller said they’ve seen em go earlier pending on the unity’s work and load. I weld a lot of heavy wall pipe on compressor station work

The two front rings are for the generator side on the unit back ring is weld side of unit
There is a stone you pick up as welding supply place . To clean you slip rings
Good job chase .. nice 👍🏼 stay safe buddy

Good one, Human!
Hi guys. My miller big blue 500d does not produce power to weld (only very little strikes) what could be the problem
3400 hrs , seems like a lot , is it ? Very well designed brush holder.
