As always, thank you for sharing. Another tip about placing cards with gems in envelopes: mail is processed on equipment that uses friction to provide the locomotion. There are more points that friction is applied to the back of the envelope than the front. I always address my envelope then place the gems towards the front side. I too will add a scrap of something inside to ease the relief.
I love your creative mind Jennifer. You techniques and card suggestions are always loaded with inspiration. Thank you for sharing your wonderful mind with us!
I have a Birchpress layered die set coming my way. Can't wait to try them with this idea. First a light colour, then medium and dark. Should be very pretty 😍😍😍. Thanks for the inspiration Jennifer. You are the best
Such beautiful cards and yet another great technique by the Queen of Cards! Thank you so much for sharing all your inspiring ideas with us, Jennifer, you ROCK, you really do! My heart always makes a little jump of happiness when I see you’ve uploaded a new video ☺️ Hugz, Love & Light 💗 Desiree (the Netherlands)
I love all your videos!! I learned alot in card making and it helps me with my depression...I can't thank you enough Jennifer❤...God bless you and your Family and please stay safe🙏🏼
Thank uou, Thanks you,Thank you another great video. I like the way the DIY stencil can be used as a card element. There are so many wonderful tips in this video, thank you.
Many thanks for another great video, so full of ideas. Really appreciate how 'clean ' and clear these are to watch and listen to, again, thank you. It's also great to be able to learn different ways of using our stash and getting more out of each item. In that, you are a one woman teaching machine, love it.
Oh my goodness! Love this technique so much. Can't wait to try it. I will try the masking paper and also I do have some yupo paper in my supplies. I do keep lots of rhinestones and pearls on hand...however, they are for, the most part, clear rhinestones and white pearls. If I want to use colors to match the ink colors on my cards, I usually just color them with my alcohol markers...or the inks I used. Works quite well and saves me from trying to keep lots of colored thingys on hand. :-)
Hi! I should have mentioned in the video that there are other options for creating stencils, such as yupo paper, etc. However, with an intricate die, I find the options I shared to the best. Also, cardstock isn't slick so you don't have to wipe the ink off it between colors. AND if you use cardstock, you can add it to your card! :)
So enjoy your videos. I learn something new each time. My favorite card is the one using the die to make an impression. Thank you. Stay safe and well. God bless you.
Thanks for all the great tips and techniques shown in this video Jennifer! I tried to make a reusable stencil with a very intricate butterfly die and yupo, acetate & OHP film, but none of them worked successfully so will definitely be trying some of your ideas. I hadn't thought about using masking paper, that's a great idea! Thanks, Stef.
(Insert 10 minute standing ovation here!!!!!) Love this!!!! We love using our dies for multiple uses and combinations to create new looks ~ we were just discussing that yesterday!
I make stencils out of plastic dividers made by Avery. I tried many different materials and these work best for me. While they are not sticky like masking tape they hold up very well and can be cleaned. I use light tape to keep them in place.
These cards are beautiful... love the look of dimension when you used the die to emboss and the use of the stencil for background or extend the image. If you could peek into all the craft rooms around the world you would find crafters inspired by the techniques you share... you are truly a blessing to this community.
All of those cards turned out stunning!! I love how you share how and why you do things, and you always step it up a notch! I look forward to each video. We can never have too much bling!! 💟
Amazing the different looks you achieved with these techniques. This die is beautiful inked up with the rainbow colors. Love the sparkle and the deep impression cards. The embellishments take them over the top!!
I love all your cards, they are stunning! The embossed die on top and the glitter paste are especially fabulous. You are so talented, imaginative and clever, thank you for all the inspiration 😍♥️⭐️🏆
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I just got some glitters and pastes and wanted to try this, your timing is superb! I appreciate all the videos you do, it has really helped me have more fun crafting.
Thanks for sharing wllmofnthese wonderful techniques! I have found the best way to make a stencil out of your dies is to use yupo because you can wash it and if you want you can glue it to your card 🧡🧡🧡😃!
Very cool ideas. I have a bunch of the Birch Press Designs 3 piece cover plate dies & I think they would be perfect for this. The dies are quite the investment, but I love them & getting more ways to use them, just perfect!
You say that you would like to see any cards that you’ve inspired. How do we share with you? I know you have shown embossing with dies many times but this time, it really sparked something. I love your videos. Keep up the good work
love it! How about cutting the die out on plastic stencil material rather than cardstock, it'll clean off and last longer? Oh i see ... you can use the colored cardstock on the card . great ideas Jennifer
Hi Jennifer, I was looking at utube this morning on laminating. Unfortunatly I can't find it again to give the name of the crafter I deceided to try out what she was doing and I think this might help with stencils. I used 1side of a laminating pouch cut it to be a bit smaller than the card and put it through the laminator. It worked and the pouch doesn't peal off. You finish up with one side shiny and the other side plain.
@@jennifermcguireink I had a go at making a stencil but forgot that you use a die without an outside cutting edge. OOps. but the laminating didn't lift anywhere so I have a cool decoration for a card.
Hi Jennifer that’s a great tutorial but can you explain how the die doesn’t cut the foam mat when you pass it through the machine. Thank you. Irene in Liverpool.
Have you tried using some distress glaze on your cardstock stencil to make it last longer? I would think it would not absorb so much ink and possibly be able to wipe off some inbetween inkings for less contamination.
Beside all the beautiful stenciling techniques you showed I am wondering about the clear purple tape. Does it have an advantage over the old purple tape or the other mini tack tapes? I really like that it fits in a tape dispenser but the old purple tape won't stick to the tearing teeth and you were constantly chasing the end of it. Does that clear tape do the same thing? I learned so much from your equipment that you use, so wanted to know about the tape.
@@jennifermcguireink thank you so much for the info I looked it up on the internet and it seems quite expensive. Or maybe since it is thinner you get more on a roll. Looking forward to trying it and I appreciate your input.
Barbara at Joggles just released a video in the last week that shows that using intricate dies to cut the Teflon crafting sheets to make stencils from dies works. I used the exact same dies Barbara used to cut Tyvek stencils before I saw the Joggles video. I bought the dies from Joggles; I love the Art by Marlene line. Those die cuts work but are tedious to weed because Tyvek has a fiber running through it. Still great though. I’m using the stencils/masks with gel plates. Neither the Teflon sheets nor Tyvek would be very good with gels or pastes as both are very thin materials. But fun foam does cut easily with thin dies and is great for pastes and gels. Fun foam stencils don’t last as long as stenciling plastic. The thin etched steel dies leave an impression in stenciling plastic and acetate. I have traced the impression in stenciling plastic with a stencil cutter. Not terrible but requires a steady hand and I always get wobbly lines with that method. But it is the best all around stencil in terms of durability and versatility. I suppose you could just scan the die cut and have an electronic cutter cut stenciling plastic, but I don’t know if die manufacturers would permit that. I really wish manufacturers would just release die, stencil, and stamp for all their images.
Shot, Jennifer! I was excited about this +until+ I realized I needed a die cut machine, something I don’t have money or room for. Who wants to sell me some die cuts made from this die? Maybe your embossing folder video will work for me. I have those and use them on my gel plate.
I'll be happy to send you some die cut card fronts. I don't have this die, but I have similar intricate dies. No need to pay me. Is there a way you can privately message me your address?
Hi Jennifer was wondering if you still use the label maker you showed a few years back? I need to get one and not sure which one, I don’t need anything fancy just for my craft room
Yes, I do still use that one. However, I also added a new one to my craft room where I can connect it to my computer and type up the labels. I will be talking about that one soon. Sounds like the one I recommended in the past will work just fine for you.
I rarely do projects if I need to buy alot of new items, but in this case I'd happily make an exception.

mostly lucy's cards, trinity stamps, and studio katia. HOWEVER, many are out of stock due to covid and shipping issues. :(
