      Never ending money pit 😂 I’m not sure about the double din now in the TD5 as I feel it will be a weird angle- thinking of a good single DIN head unit and upgrading the speakers now then just usb’ing my iPhone which I have mounted to the windscreen

    Maybe black self tappers would give a better finish to the roof lining?
    I gave up on the interior LED bulbs as they seem to blow quite often. However, I recently fitted a Mud Stuff interior light. They are very impressive. They don't look too out of place and they are lovely and bright. You can switch between red and white light, which is nice as the red light won't impact on your night vision.

    Great video, it now looks much better and the sound deadening will make for a nicer drive. One word of caution about the LED bulb you have fitted in the interior. I know someone who replaced all their original bulbs with 'cheap' Ebay LED bulbs, one failed and it caused a problem which damaged his alarm ECU and cost over £600 for a replacement alarm😧
    This may be a very rare issue, but personally I would only fit quality branded ones such as Osram etc, after hearing about this failure, just in case👍

    If you don't fancy messing about with glue and scissors you can buy complete head lining from Masai 4x4.

    Hi looks great, I did the same to mine a year or so ago but found it started pulling away from the tight corners, ended up injecting fabric glue with a syringe with a for inch needle through the fabric then wedge a piece of wood under it till it dries which seem to do the job in the end, Did you find this problem when fitting yours?

    • @thedoctorsgarage
      @thedoctorsgarage  2 года назад

      Thanks Richard- I didn’t but I’m hoping that doesn’t start to happen now it’s fitted! I used loads of that spray on glue so hoping it sticks

    What colour did you get? I’m definitely going to do this during this summer now. Can I ask, it seemed like there were some lines or grooves where you weren’t able to smoothen it out? Is that due to it being difficult or is it possible to get a clean finish using this foam backed suede that you linked in the description? Wondering also how many metres I should use for a crew cab? Any ideas?

    • @thedoctorsgarage
      @thedoctorsgarage  2 года назад +1

      I went for black (part of the reason was to hide those small creases easily!) I don’t think you can get them completely gone unless you’re a professional - I got most out my pulling up and reapplying but it’s hard in the sharp corners. To be honest when it’s actually up on the roof you don’t see them at all 👌🏻 for a crew cab I would get 4 metres that will be more than enough and you could wrap other bits too with what’s left over 🙌🏼

    • @justinhong929
      @justinhong929 2 года назад +1

      @@thedoctorsgarage how did you manage with the sharp corners where there is the excess material in the vid?? Did you have to cut the material or were you able to stretch it somehow?
