    Thanks for the video, this helped me out a lot! I’m glad to have “auto” fan mode now.

    This video saved the day! I am the proud owner of a salvaged RV that came with a rooftop AC but all the interior wiring and ceiling assembly were missing. I have removed the unit to the bench and have been trying to sort out the wiring so that I can run/test the unit. Your video has shown me all I need know to make the appropriate connections. Mine, by the way, is a Coleman-Mach AC and it has the control box mounted up inside the unit (just like the one that you installed). Your careful explanations and diagrams have been extremely helpful! Thanks. You offer a great service to anyone looking to attempt this!

    how do i connect it to the thermostat when theres no wires leaving the ac?

  • @jasonmakowski8719
    @jasonmakowski8719 3 года назад +1

    Couldn't you just take your blower fan control wire and feed it off of the manual temperature controller, and then your fan would come on and off with temperature along with the compressor.

  • @angeliquemoore4793

    When the cool temp is reached does the Coleman Mach turn off? Or does it continue to run? Also is this setup different when the Coleman Mach has a heater?

    Does anyone have a video of the very first install of this thermostat? Meaning they were using the mechanical one that came with the AC unit & installed a wall TSTAT from scratch to see what wires go where etc?

    What do you do if there is no white and red wire already connected where do you get 12+?

    • @MrFlyer37
      @MrFlyer37 3 года назад

      Hey, Bill! Did you ever figure it out? I tried to grab 12v from a nearly 12v light switch but blew the circuit fuse. My control box came with no instructions so unsure what to do.

    with the thermostat in auto mode. both the fan and compressor completely shuts off when it reaches the set temp., correct??

    • @JackofAllMasterofNone
      @JackofAllMasterofNone  4 года назад +3

      Yes it does or you can have it so the fan stays running and just the compressor kicks off. Either way.

    Your description says cool only but the video shows you trying out the cold & heat. So is the link & the part number the correct one for both? Asking bc the Amazon link says cool only? Please help

    • @JackofAllMasterofNone
      @JackofAllMasterofNone  2 года назад

      My description does not say cool only. It says AC and whatever propane furnace. This thermostat will work with the electric rooftop AC and a separate furnace type heater. If you have a heat pump in your roof top unit, this is not the correct thermostatic. Otherwise, it is the one.

  • @macrepairboytube

    I confused on the wiring. The pair of wires from my heater are red/white with red being 12V. So obviously red connects to red on thermostat. Does the white wire from the heater connect to both the white on the back of the thermostat and the white on the AC controller?

    • @JackofAllMasterofNone
      @JackofAllMasterofNone  4 года назад

      It just depends on your heater model. You need to consult the manual / wiring diagram for your heater. You most likely won't need the +12volt wire coming from the heater.

    • @macrepairboytube
      @macrepairboytube 4 года назад

      @@JackofAllMasterofNone So I instead need to run a wire from +12V to the red wire connector on the thermostat?

    • @JackofAllMasterofNone
      @JackofAllMasterofNone  4 года назад

      No. Like I said without knowing what heater you have I can't tell you for sure, but when you switch on the heat setting on the thermostat the white wire from the thermostat is energized with +12v. I would guess that you just need to connect the white wire from your thermostat to the white wire to the furnace and leave the red wire from the furnace disconnected and taped off. That is my guess but again without knowing what furnace you have I dont want to be responsible for you wiring it wrong.

      Jack of All Master of None ok... thanks for your reply. I’ll identify my heater model and review the manual. Appreciate your feedback.

    does this set up cause the air conditioner fan to cycle off and on?

    • @JackofAllMasterofNone
      @JackofAllMasterofNone  4 года назад +1

      Depends on the setting. You can have the fan on continuously or cycle with the compressor

  • @charlesdu1224

    • @EverydayProjects
      @EverydayProjects 4 года назад

      @@JackofAllMasterofNone I think that he was asking how to control the electric heater that can be added to the rooftop AC unit as an add on. What I've heard about these supplemental heaters is that they allow some warming of the RV without having to use the Main Furnace. Perhaps the supplemental electric heater could be controlled from the thermostat heat connection, but that would leave the main furnace without control. Maybe two thermostats?

    • @JackofAllMasterofNone
      @JackofAllMasterofNone  4 года назад +1

      @@EverydayProjects They make a different thermostat that works with that type of heat strip in the AC unit and also the gas heater.
